I would recommend partaking in the Full Moon hikes which occur when there is a Full Moon over Cape. You'll have a marvellous experience hiking Lion's Head in the evening (when it's cooler), and breathtaking sunsets and views of the landscape are super easy to see. Bring some wine, and make some friends at the top. Coming down is what is hard about this trail, since much of the highest parts of the trail are accessed by ladders, chains, and metal stairs attached to rock. Be careful, and enjoy!

The last part up to the dinosaur footprints was too tough for our kids, but the rest of the hike was great.

Starts and remains steep and challenging for the first mile. Worth getting to the top for the views north along loch Erribol and east to Ben loyal.
On a good day you can see to the Faroe isles

Short but fun ascent, toward the end there are two sections were there are chains bolted into the rock to lift yourself up a few boulders. Up until that point it is a wide easy well traveled trail. Great views of the city, twelve apostles, Devil's peak, and of course table Mt.

Great hike with amazing views. Some areas need to use staples and vertical ladders and can be expose so be prepared. It is well marked and also very crowded, so much that had to wait in line to go down the staples, but the views at the top is worth it.

Great sunrise hike!! I’d say it was a little more than moderate, but the views are so worth it!

awesome 360° views from the top

This trail has incredible views! It has some difficult scrambling sections as well as a section with metal staples and chain ropes for a vertical climb. You can take your dog, but unless you're ok with carrying your dog up the vertical section, its best to take the alternate trail around to reach the top. I highly recommend this trail but go prepared!

I love South Africa and Cape Town is a beautiful city and no better way to see it but from the top of table mountain

Great hike in the city. Well marked and amazing 360 degree views. Moderate is the right rating as there are some sections with exposure. More difficult routes with scrambling options available. If you want to find Wally's Cave: go past the first ladder (do not go up it), go the old bench and go DOWN to the LEFT, traverse until you see an opportunity to scramble up to the right. If you go too high you'll end up on a flat lookout with a steep drop off

Incredibly remarkable hike with some of the most gorgeous views I've ever seen. I even saw some wildlife, as there was a mountain goat (or some kind a goat) above the trail. I had to stop recording halfway through because my phone was about to die and I definitely needed the flashlight in certain parts of the trail.

The entire trail is well laid out. They were a couple of times I wasn't certain where to go immediately, but after looking for a couple seconds, it became obvious. There is a lot of loose rocks and uneven terrain. There were a couple of older hikers that turned around, saying that it was too much for their knees and ankles.

At the turnaround point there is a great café where you can stop and relax before turning around. Nothing like having a beer at what seems like the top of the world. Definitely recommend for everyone.

Nice 360 outlook on the city (north), Table Mountain (east) and 12 Apostles. Rocky footpath, mind your ankles !

We did this hike after having many friends recommend it. We got rained on but were already halfway up the trail so we went on. The trail was built in WWI and has some information at the beginning explaining what it was used for during that period and after.

There are a couple places with in the tunnels where it gets really dark so you definitely want to have a flashlight or some type of light source with you. At the top there was a place where if you time it you can get food. We did not time it right, but they were kind enough to let us dry out by the fire and tie our dog up in shed so we could all be out of the rain. They way back down we opted to go down the road as it was getting dark and we wanted to see both sides.

The views are stunning even with the rain it was 100% worth it.

This ones quite a challenge but well worth it for the 360 views of the lakes and mountains. Not much shelter on the way up and can get pretty windy, take a windbreaker jacket for sure! Well worth it

Sunrise hike did not disappoint. Quick 45 minutes to the summit and a lot of people on the trail early so it felt very safe. Definitely do this hike.

Incredible views of Cape Town, surrounding mountains and the coast! There is a spot that allows you to climb some chains. We did. Pretty cool!
