Always a beautiful view. Just enjoyed it Jan. 12th, 2019 with all the snow and ice. Wear the proper gear, a pole might help you on the slippery spots (there’s a few!).

1/6/19: one of the best and beautiful trails that I have been on! Well marked except for one place but soon realized that we were that we weren’t on the trail bit found a beautiful spot for some pictures.

Black Rocks!!

lots of wildlife its blacktopped so not pure country

The trail itself is quite nice, but going down the stairs into the sinkhole is definitely the highlight. It feels like you've stepped into the twilight zone!

Great family trail

Great trail with many beautiful lookouts along the Manistee River. Lots of dispersed camping sites close to the river on the Manistee River side.

Very beautiful. First backpacking trip. It is not the easiest for your first backpacking trips due to the various points of elevation but I survived and it was well worth it. Will be doing this again!

Did the River Trail. Wife’s first trip. The views did not disappoint, especially in the fall. The campsites were in awesome outlooks. We will be doing this one again.

The bridge is now open to both cars and hikers :)

Loved hiking here! Super pretty views, different level of difficulty with different trails, unlike anything in mid Michigan!

The construction is complete and the hike is easy. Beautiful views of the falls and canyon. There is also an access trail to the North Country Trail off the path to the falls. It is well marked.

four wheel drive recommended

We did it clock wise, one big last hard climb at the end.

A very nice forest hike. See some of the oldest trees in the region. Easy to find, good parking. Near town.

Heavily tracked. Good for a quick hike with scenic views. Great for kids.

It is the most remote state park in Michigan. A long, slow drive to get to the parking lot. Very quiet, peaceful. Bugs can be very bad in early July.

Overall decent trail. Did it counter clockwise, helps save the best views for the end. Clean and well marked. Not the most challenging but an easy two day hike

Awesome short hike, very family friendly.

this is one of my favorite easy trails in the area. today the falls were running high which added a little extra excitement.

This place it awesome for hiking and taking landscape photography.

One of the greatest trails I have ever set foot on. Climbed up several waterfalls to reach a nice basin of water at the top that we swam in. Not for the faint of heart, but for those that take the journey, you will be highly rewarded.

It’s a really nice hike and it has an overnight campsite on it with a latrine

The Coates Highway bridge was passable but still under construction when we were down a weekend ago. My wife and I and other hikers were able to walk over the bridge bypassing construction equipment later in the day.

great views especially in the fall.

Has the bridge been re-opened?

Great hike. East side of the trail has spectacular river views and water access. I try to get here a few times a year.
