Very good trail. Need careful tire placement in some spots, didn't have any body damage concerns. Took several alternate (harder) routes.
1993 Land Cruiser, 35" Toyo's, 3" Lift, Triple Lockers

Did this 9/18. Took 3 of us 1:15 to get up and about an hour down. The switchbacks to start are a butt kicker, a nice break in the middle followed by another tough section finishing with a 3/4 mile or so rim trail with amazing views. We started at 7:30 and trail was not busy. Had a nice time at top for 45 minutes before heading down. There were A LOT of people heading up on our way down (as in several hundred). Trail is mostly smooth so the difficulty is purely the steepness of the trail. It is work with a lot of sun exposure on upper half. Great views on top and many good views along the way.

My favorite hike on a recent trip to Zion, Bryce, and the North Rim. Was on the 3rd bus and not too much of a crowd. Encountered a handful of people on their way down during the 2nd half of the hike. First 1.25 is a fairly steep climb on pavement. Trail levels off for most of the next 1/2 mile before climbing again. Most of trail on rock/concrete. Mid section and end with stretches of sand. Gets pretty narrow in spots but felt comfortable running down portions of the trail. Gets pretty narrow in some spots but nothing needing hand rails like Angels Landing has. On the way down the first half of the hike was the in the sun and second half was in the shade. On September 16th it was pretty warm in the sun so felt for those who got a later start. View from the top is absolutely worth work to get there.

this is my favorite hike in Zion. Even better than Angel' s Landing. The views are breathtaking and the hike itself is beautiful!

Did this yesterday, September 19, 2018. Great experience. The scree at the top was easy since it was wet from recent snow melt. No need for poles going up, but would have been useful for the down trip. Up in 4.5 gours, down in 2. Beautiful weather at summit...sun and no wind but clouds to the south, spent and hour up there which I hear us unusual.

AMAZING! If you don’t like crowds then just get there early, first shuttle leaves at 6am (headlamp recommended). We had a great hike up and only a few people at top. The views are breathtaking. Trekking poles recommended for rocks and steep grade. Made it up in 2 and down in 1.7 hours!

Fun time great wheeling not as bad as they say it is

You guys are full of it this gives you a side view of the sign that’s it

Would be a 5-star trail if it wasn’t so overcrowded. Once up top you have to wait 5-10 minutes just to catch a glimpse of the canyon because of all the glamour and selfie photography. Really is breathtaking though. The hike up is long and hard . Don’t underestimate the hike down as it’s steep and never seems to stop!

Hiked half dome on Saturday after drawing 48 hour permits. We arrived late Friday so hit he trail at 7. The lower portion to Nevada falls was busy but not crowded, good time of year to hike! The hike from Nevada Falls to Sub dome was my favorite. Sub Dome was SO difficult for me, granite switch backs straight up the end of sub dome. Once up sub dome the cables felt easy! I agree with past comments-good grip on shoes and gloves. There were several people sliding down the cables in tennis shoes. Everyone was really nice, encouraging, and communicated really well on the cables! I Loved this hike, although it ended up being 20 miles from the half dome village tents. Hike JMT back down, misty in the dark because we left so late. Headlamps were a good choice! Have an easy dinner ready, you won’t be in the mood to cook!

Nice trail, came up the hard side (eagle lake). Would rate the trail a moderate. No problems for our Wranglers with 35's. It is a quite lose rocky climb up with a handful of small obstacles. Good warm up for a lifted rig and probably pretty challenging for stock vehicles.

This hike is awesome but IMO it’s not moderate it’s actually about 4.2 miles one way and your almost doing 3,000 feet of elevation gain. It’s strange this is rated moderate when angles landing is rated hard. The only thing I can think of is that’s due to Angles Landing’s chain section that is not really for kids or people afraid of cliffs. Anyway the view up top is amazing and if your going for sunset watch the time so you don’t miss the last bus (10pm) and of course bring a headlight as I had to guide another group down as they had no light.

Now one of my favorite 14ers!
If you have 4 wheel drive and high clearance try to go as far up this road as you can! It will help eliminate you hiking up the whole road to get to the trail head! If you can make it far up that road, you will thank yourself on the way back down

This is a rough hike, but absolutely worth it. Make sure you're there as early as possible, and bring lots of water. the switchbacks are harsh climbing, so trekking poles are a good idea. The views from the top are unbeatable, however. It will take you a good 5 hours or so, 6 if you take it slow and easy.

Starts out as nice easy ride, but does get very difficult with large boulders and narrow rocky climbs!

Beautiful reward but the hike is hard. It took us about 5 hours round trip. The first switchbacks are easier than the second which are very steep. The last half mile is flat, but it’s all sand so still not the easiest.

A long steep trek up the canyon wall, but the views get better at every turn. There is a slight respite while going through Echo Canyon. The walls close in around you and the sandstone formations are beautiful. After Echo Canyon it’s back to the climb and increased exposure but nothing too bad. A short walk along the plateau and you arrive at the best views of Zion Canyon as you look down on Angels Landing. The long descent can be tough on the legs but worth the effort

Great National Park.

Loved it. First time off road with a Jeep and wasn’t to bad.

Great Hike, though very long and difficult! Amazing views of Vernal and Nevada falls, the half dome of course and other landmarks if Yosemite. We started 4:30 AM with the mist trail, which was very challenging. Came back through John Muir Trail, which is longer and has lots of switchbacks. The sub Dome is a very challenging part. The Cables required lots of hand and legs work. be sure to bring gloves with rubber side, for good grip. I had to stop and sit few times going up the cables, I got dizzy and weak. I had to regain my forces every few feet, in the mid section of the cables. Worth the effort! Amazing view from the top. Make sure you take at least 1.5 Gallon of water per person, and good snacks. Enjoy!

Super hike/climb.
The boulder field was a lot of fun.
The ash was fustrating.

Excellent trail. A little scary going down the back of Webster pass (on your way to the start of Red Cone) as if gets a little narrow in one specific spot but other then that it was an excellent trail with some great fall colors!
We did air down which made the ride a lot smoother and a little easier in the narrower spots. Also, the water in the river was low at the beginning of the trail.
Wasn’t too crowed when we went on Saturday . I love this trail!

The best hike at Zion! Start early and bring water. 90% of the trail is switchbacks. Took around 4-5hrs (hiking time), but who is counting, just get to the top. Worth every step!

This was a fun, family friendly experience.

Best hike in Zion!!

Difficult with lots of climbs and switchbacks, pretty long trail. But the scenery is beautiful along the way, and observation point is beautiful!

went down in 2007 4runner 3inch lift and 33s. Landed on my exhuast on one part. Was alone so had to get off multiple time to make sure I didnt hit any of the fallen boulders in the middle of the road. 4runner didnt struggle just a lot of tight spots going over fallen debri.

solid hike that will get the blood pumping on the way up and the reward at the top is worth the work. lots of people and the trail is mostly sand or sand covered rock, not particularly enjoyable on a steep incline/decline.

It’s the best!! Night hike is amazing.
