Nice hike, though the loop as shown on AllTrails actually appears to be a loop of the Ponderosa trails, three sisters trails, and the brothers lookout spur. we're unaware of an official brothers lookout loop other than once you've already made it to the top. the views were great, but get there early. We parked off the road since the trailhead had long ago filled with mountain bikers and early bird hikers.

Perfect weather for this hike!! I enjoyed so much by the creek, it is always nice to get a nice breeze by the water. This ended up 8.4 mile hike, enjoyed it so much! 80% is shade, so great for hot summer hike as well. Totally different scenery from hikes around Baseline. Recommended! However this is not "Hard". Should be listed as "Moderate".

Being an avid hiker from East Tennessee, there was no hope for me. I completed the incline on my first day in Colorado, but my lungs paid dearly for it since I was not used to the elevation. I strongly suggest that you buy the "I completed the incline" sticker at the gift shop before hand and use that as motivation to get to the top. Overall once you make it to the top, the view is worth it as well as the sense of cheating death and accomplishment. Pack water, food, needle cheast decompressor and a good camera to document your humility.

fun trail, you'll get your cardio in!

As others have mentioned it is about 8-9 mile loop, great scenery, going counter clockwise would of been easier, didn't know my clockwise to counter and went the hard way, the wildlife is great saw many deers, snake, chipmunk, and rabbits. Fun but challenging hike, especially the last mile, which felt like 3. :)

Well maintained trails that are surprisingly pretty busy. Definitely take some water with you and wear the right shoes, rocks can get a bit rough at some parts. Plenty of hills and the views are gorgeous but if you’re not used to the elevation, I’d recommend taking it slow at first. Only down side is it’s a state park so you have to pay to enter.

Me encantó la experiencia, excelente si lo
recomiendo.

They aren’t kidding-this is an extreme hike. But it was awesome!!

This trail is rather difficult, I got to the end in about and hour and a half and in total stayed for about 3 hours. It is very touching to see all the memorials for the firefighters that tragically lost their lives.

I recommend doing this hike very early in the morning. I started at about 4:30 am, this way you avoid all the heat during the day.

overall a great hike.

Tough hike!! Had to take a lot of breaks!! The accomplishment of getting to the top feels great but I don’t need to do it again!!

Well maintained trail, nice views.

Great trail - steep start and finish but easy dirt roads and trails for the middle.

hell yes

Extremely difficult but definitely worth it!

Felt like such an accomplishment getting to the top. I’m probably average as far as endurance fitness goes and this was a grind, especially half way up when it gets steeper. Had to take a breather every 50 steps near the end there, but I’m glad I didn’t bail out early and kept going to the summit. Took the Barr trail back down and it’s pretty mellow with tons of switchbacks. Some sections are very narrow and people like to run down, so keep an ear open for people running up behind you.

I got to the start around 6:15am and ended up paying the $10 parking because I didn’t know any better, but it was nice having my car close. I’m told there is other parking in manitou and a shuttle that runs to the trailhead every 20 mins. Might try that next time to save money. The parking lot was packed by 8am when I got back down, make sure you go early to beat the heat and crowds.

My only complaint is that some of the steps are washed out between, just gotta be careful on some spots. Very tough hike for me, but worth it!

Great hike! A bit strenuous at the beginning but well worth it. Make sure to take the Walker Ranch Loop down to the falls. Awesome views!

Difficult, steep. Great historical significance

I love this quick little hike and do it often but today there's swarms of what looks like flying ants at the top on the rock! 7/16/18

One of my go-to trails in the Boulder area with great views of Boulder creek! I definitely second the other reviewers - we were tracking our miles and ended up walking around 8.2 miles total so be aware of the added distance. I've done both the clockwise and counterclockwise route and would definitely say counterclockwise is the way to go if you're looking for an easier go with less steep terrain. Be aware that there will still be some steep parts, even on the counterclockwise route.

Unforgettable and I don’t plan on doing it again. Bring a lot of water and snacks. I started off listening to music but quickly put that away because this climb is all mental if you’re somewhat physically fit.

I did almost zero research before going. Mistake number 1. Then I thought I could do it in 45 minutes. The joke was on me because the sheer incline and rise in elevation took my breath away and I kept having to sit down. I summited after climbing for 2 1/2 hours. Very humbling.

The best thing about the Incline is the positive community spirit as you climb. Everyone was encouraging each other and they clapped as I took the last step.

If you can-do it!

Too busy, no parking, nothing special on hike itself.

Great views, half shade and half open. Good hike close to Denver. Definitely a moderate difficulty. We hiked with 9, 12 and 15 year old and they did alright.

Fantastic as always! I’ve hiked the Incline over a dozen times... in all weather conditions. Bring plenty of water, a great attitude, & an adventurous spirit. You’ll have a blast! This is a very challenging hike. Beware of elevation sickness if you’re not used to climbing a mountain this steep (68 degree incline), gaining 2,000 ft of elevation in less than a mile. Otherwise, congratulations on conquering one of the steepest stairs in the world!

Beautiful, well-maintained trail. Be sure to continue on to the Walker Ranch Loop (turn left at the sign) to spend some time at the falls - it’s a welcome rest stop before turning around. About 60% tree cover which is nice on warm summer days.

Amazing, but long hike. Beautiful views and diverse scenery. One of my favorite Boulder hikes.

This hike is actually more like 8.3 miles. Took us 3:15, hiking at a pretty good clip. Very pretty. Bring water.

The trail is actually in pretty good condition. They just made some improvements. Part of my rating is because I wasn’t ready. I couldn’t finish it and took the bail out trail close to step 1900, about 2/3 to the top. Aside from the level of difficulty, the problem was that I went on a Sunday. There were lots of people hiking and not everyone was polite enough to step to the side of the trail when needing to take a break. I was already exhausted and having to maneuver around people resting just made it worse and quite dangerous. As you pass half of the trail, the steps are pretty steep. If you are fit enough, it is a great trail, providing a wonderful sense of fulfillment once you are done. At least, I imagine it does. If you are not super fit, you might wanna consider a few easier trails before picking this one.

This was very challenging with a beautiful view! Make sure to bring a source of water, preferably 1 liter or larger! My first time going up took about an 1hr& a half! I’m moderately in shape!! Can be dangerous going down if not paying close attention. Some steps need to be refurbished! Awesome scenery and definitely felt all
Muscles in my legs burn!!

I've been here multiple times & it's one of my favorite hikes in Boulder. South Boulder Creek is a great place to take a break for picture taking or have a lunch/snack or just take in the beautiful scenery. I tracked it at 7.6 miles. Beware...don't leave wallets or purses in your car! When I was getting out of my car, an older couple warned me that their window got broken & a wallet was stolen!
