Such a beautiful hike. I live close by, so I did it in a few sections first. Took my sisters with me once. Then took my husband and we did the full loop last Sunday. He had not been there before. He loved it too! Lots of people later in the day, but most are very friendly.

Intense hiking over rocks with great views of Lake Tahoe and many other lakes. The 360 view from the top was amazingly spectacular and totally worth the effort!
Took my boyfriend and I 8 hours, and we are in very good shape. There were some people hiking faster than us, so I bet most people take ~7-9 hours to do this hike.

Beautiful trail! It's a slow inclined to the rock so it is much easier going back. The only thing I wish I knew before going is BRING BUG SPRAY. There were so many flies and bugs getting in our eyes while we were near the trees.

It’s a great hike , we did this hike on long weekend(Labor Day) but unfortunately we lost our cockatiel(pet bird) when we were almost reaching the top most point . If anyone finds please ping us 832-454-2772

Great hike!!!! past reviews helped big time to find the falls. once you get to the dead end it’s only .5 miles to falls but it’s a climb down and a climb back up ,totally worth though . lots of people while we were there . parking is very tight

This trail is very, very dangerous. If you are on the trail in Rog’s pictures (below), you might consider turning around and finding the easier trail a bit further down. We got pretty banged up and were told by a girl that her mom was life-flighted out due to sliding all the way down.

Under current driving conditions (9/22/18) I would say you absolutely must have a high clearance vehicle or you’re going to get stuck.

There are also people shooting guns and drinking most of the way down. Just a heads up.

The waterfall is magical and totally worth visiting.

Super cute hike!!

fantastic views await you at the top

You hike through part of an orchard, but it is mostly a truck trail. Amazing view of Lake County, orchards, and surrounding mountains.

Love it.

This is my favorite trail that we hiked this year! I would definately do it again! It was strenuous but not to hard and so beautiful.

Most of the hike is on a service road. It is really cool hiking this trail when you are familiar with the mountains and towns of the surrounding area. I would hike, bike, or run this trail with friends again.

We made a day hike out of this and was not disappointed by the challenge of mount Tallac. This is a beautiful Mountain, with several terrain changes. To start the hike about 0.4miles in we heard brush moving on the hill to our left, noticed very quickly that we were within 40 yards of a momma bear and two cubs....we backed off gave her space, she lets us know she saw us as well, she and the babies continued down the hillside crossing the trail and continued on there way. What a beautiful moment, with a great outcome! Be sure to be alert! Take plenty of water and energy snacks with you as you will need them. Sturdy hiking boots,& definitely would not do this one without trekking poles, someone offered to buy mine on the way down but I had used them so frequently at that point they were not for sale. The terrain rover the last three miles to the summit is strictly rock, which offers an awesome challenge and on the day we did the climb was coupled with a slight storm which offered a nice 50mph wind, making the summit just that more sweet! The views from the summit are absolutely breathtaking,& we highly recommend this climb!

9/15/2018: Our group including 5 adults and 3 kids (ages about 5-11) all wearing regular shoes, made the trip up and back with time to stop for lunch and views in about 5 hours. It was a stunning day to be outside as it was nice and brisk but sunny. Bring a windbreaker though- it was downright COLD with the wind up near the top and out of the tree line.
Side note: It's been several days since our hike and my calves are still barking! As others said, it isn't overly steep, but it'll still get ya!
We'll definitely be headed back! (I heard the flowers are lovely mid-summer!)

Fantastic hike with one amazing waterfall after another!

Beautiful views the entire hike. The summit is definitely worth the effort. Bring plenty of water if you're not used to the elevation.

Exquisite and idyllic!

Bring lots of water!!!

This was an easy hike with gorgeous waterfalls. It can get crowded, especially at the falls that are less than a mile from the trailhead, but the farther away from the trailhead I got the less people I saw.

Did this hike on a Thursday late August and the small parking lot was full by 9am, but never mind, just parked a little bit further down. AMAZING views, easy access to trailhead and plenty of other hikers on the trail and on top. Fallen Leaf Lake was stunning, as of course was Tahoe. Plenty of sun exposure so wear sunscreen and bring enough water.

One of my favorite hikes that I went to. Absolutely beautiful! The unpaved road definitely makes it hard to walk so hiking shoes are recommended (I used running shoes and almost slipped few times). However, the scenery is breathtaking!!!! I got to observe the nature in the most vivid ways— got to see the wildlife (bees, spiders, garden snakes, etc...).

Abiqua is a hard hike but it totally worths the time and energy !!! My friends and I felt accomplished !

FREAKING GORGEOUS!! Getting there can be tricky so definitely read the previous comments made by others. I got there and had such an amazing time thanks to the tips and comments I read on here. The unpaved road constituted half of the hike literally but once you’re at the trailhead, the hike itself is less than 2 mi. Steep hills but the ropes and fallen trees along the way made it a tad easier. The waterfall made it up for all of the hard work. A MUST SEEN! This is by far the hardest but it is also my favorite hike! Super peaceful and calm :) I’m definitely coming back

Great hike! Beautiful views at the top! Took us a little under 4 hours to summit, but being from Ohio we aren’t regular hikers - and we stopped for photos along the way. We brought 2L of water each, and we both ran out on our way down. Trail is very rocky virtually the entire time, which was a bit rough on our feet and ankles. Going down wasn’t easy! And agree with previous posts on length - I tracked almost 13 miles for this hike. Recommend lots of water, sunscreen and chapstick; and we used Cliff shot bloks and which helped us a lot. Overall excellent hike - highly recommend!

The best trail in the entire park with incredible views especially at sunset. A quieter place in Yosemite as well if you arrive early or later in the day. Hoping it stays that way! After a long day though, the hike is a little tiring on the way back because of the incline. Still my favorite hike. Would do it over and over again.

Hiked this trail on Sunday 9/9/18. Started about 2:00 pm and went counter clockwise. Clocked over 9 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain. The falls are amazing, though a few were dry. Not as many people in the afternoon and going that direction. Make sure you have your Trail app on because some of the trail has no signage. Very well maintained hike with a push toward the end up switchback stairs. Will be back in spring when the water is higher!

Toller Trail!!!
Anstrengend, viel loses Geröll und Steine.

Finding the trail head was a challenge. Spent about half an hour just trying to figure out where to start. Recommend having screen shots of directions as no cell service. My Subaru couldn’t make it all the way down so I hiked about 3 extra miles, GPS put me at about 5 round trip. It felt like a ton of work for the payoff but I’m giving 4 stars due to the lack of people (I went on a weekday).
Also, I wouldn’t recommend doing this with a dog unless they are very agile. I had to carry my 60lb pit bull up a steep hill because she was struggling.

This was not easy by any means. My wife and I hiked it at a pretty brisk rate, so we made it to the top from the trailhead in under two hours. The hardest part is hiking through the big, loose rocks (they're not wobbly or anything, just a lot of jagged sharp edges you have to navigate through) halfway up and then again near the top. The rest of it is fine, it is just a long hike and I would HIGHLY recommend start before 9 in the morning if you're doing this in the summer. It gets hot before too long.

The view at the top is MORE than worth the hassle of hiking up there.
