Awesome workout! Treacherous hiking! Short trails, beautiful falls.

nice, easy hike. poorly marked in places. recommend downloading the map.

Great trail 4& 6 year olds enjoyed loops A and B for a total of 3miles. Both reporting they loved this hike. Fair amount of bikers but no issues.

the loop is not well marked so turn left at the little wood fence. nice to walk along the water and I picked and ate some blackberries along the way. pretty hike, should be rated easy, not moderate.

Hard to find trail head without reading comments, but great hike once you find your way.

Best done in the early spring or late fall. Expect some overgrowth in less frequently traveled sections. Some sections pretty sloppy from unusually heavy rainfall over the last several weeks.

My go to favorite.

Not a big fan of this one. This felt like a long walk in the woods. The woods are beautiful, but there is no “real” overlook. I did not get the sense of a “summit”. Lastly, Cunningham Falls was a little disappointing. I expected more. Plus, the fact that the falls is not technically part of the hike(it has its own parking lot) took away some of the experience to me.

Moderately difficult trail. Definitely wear boots. Wet and slippery in several areas. Do the Orange trail to the left to go up. At the top turn right at the fire pit and take the Red Trail. Ironically the first marker you see is a Blue Marker. This is the Red Trail even though the first market is Blue. Several sections could use a grab wire or rope. One slip and you are over the edge. Winter time be prepared for lots of ice.

Great trail and doesn’t take long! If you want to relax after the hike, there is also a picnic area at the boat launch just nearby.

Great, scenic hike. Take a waterproof backpack, wear proper hiking boots, bring water and a snack. On very nice days it can get busy and there are a lot of people who don't hike with proper attire, but it didn't bother us. People were very courteous and friendly. Take the Orange trail to hike up the falls, it's nice and cool, lots of great waterfalls! We didn't hike the whole Orange trail, once we got to the top we cut over to go down on the Blue marked trail. It is very rocky, slippery in some spots, but the adventure is fun!

Fantastic hike. Very difficult climb and certainly dangerous at many spots along the climb. We took our 15 year old and 6 year old (who is tough as nails). They did really great. Do NOT attempt this climb without hiking boots and pants. We were crawling in spots and on all fours going up. Worth the hour to the top. The falls are breathtaking! I was amazed at how many people were climbing back down the same way they came up. Seriously dangerous! When you get all the way at the top of the last fall you’ll find a fire ring. The trail on your right takes you back down a very easy decent right into the parking lot.

Just near the AT museum there's a road to the right, old shippensburg rd where you follow that all the way to the end. There's some parking there where you meet to trail head.
The climb was a great steepish uphill to the top. Unfortunately, I had to turn around at the second rocks bc of a big black bear greeting me. That was fun! A copperhead was laying in some rocks at the top too so they are around. Beautiful hike what I could do though! Near the parking there's a turn to the AT also that walks by a river.

Love this hike. Second time doing it Nd we went backwards which made it so much nicer. Great for the whole family (fur babies too) and lots of water for hot days!

Our family did this a few moths ago. Great hike

Great hike! The trail isn’t marked well and it’s easy to get off track without using the map on AllTrails. The waterfalls were amazing, especially with all the rain, but quite a bit of the trail had ankle deep standing water too. The overlooks were also just as beautiful.

loved this hike. didn't make it all the way out to the end. went in the evening and lost the light. will be revisiting.

Great place to hike during the hot summer!

If you follow the blue trail up to the left and then meet up with the Appalachian Trail to get a chimney rocks you get a wonderful water experience. The overall view is fabulous at the end, and then circling back down the Appalachian Trail to the beginning is easy. If you start out going up the Appalachian Trail to the right the climb is very steep

this might be my favorite place in PA. I'd recommend doing the loop clockwise though, due to steepness of the trail at some spots. always a beautiful day at ricketts glen

Went a week following heavy rains
The lower trail was actually closed for repairs from flooding. The falls were gorgeous at full volume. From Lake Rose Trail head, be sure to take the Highland Trail route down. The loop is better in this direction. Loved the trails...from wide wooded to steep stairsteps to laid out "slate-like" sidewalks, plus along the rushing creek. With a lot of picture taking, we finished just under 3.

Awesome trail, but poorly marked. I got lost and had to back track twice. Aside from that the trail is beautiful and the burgers at the Woodstock Inn are amazing.

Loved this state park. Amazing views and so well kept! Highly recommend a visit!

Great day hike. Enough to work up a sweat but enjoy a nice loop and some great views of the river along the way

Great trail very physical need to have good boots and be careful lots of fun spectacular views

Fantastic trail! Well marked and challenging but worth the views.

definitely worth the effort

Cool trail, but I found it extremely heavily trafficked. I felt like I was on some kind of tour. There was always someone right in front or behind you. I did go on a Sunday during the summer, so perhaps it wouldn’t be so busy during fall. There were a lot of kids in the water, and honestly I felt like a tourist. The trail was very dog friendly for active dogs. There were a lot of spots for me to veer off trail and take tasteful nude Instagram photos.

we got there at 10 on a summer Sunday and it was nice, but packed when we left. highly recommend going up on the left and down on the right. took the blue trail with our tough 8 year old and it was about 2h with a lunch stop
