Steep hike with some ice and a bit of snow but a lot of mud. The weather was warm but it was windy and cold at the top. A great workout after all of the holiday gatherings so far.

Trail off red pine trail up to Maybird lakes was difficult to follow in a few spots with the snow on the ground. GPS on the trail app was a lifesaver. The views at the end are epic, especially with the snow on the peaks and mt. pfeifferhorn. Would of been 5 stars but the trail could use a little help with guidance markings.

Beautiful hike!! Today the snow was about a foot deep on one section of the trail, but we were able to follow others' footsteps and really enjoyed the hike. It took us a little over two hours.

Unable to hike now due to snow. I’m sure this hike is wonderful, but just wanted this review to be on here so people know the condition of the trail.

beautiful

Fun hike for our girls. More of a quick walk but we enjoyed climbing up higher onto the falls and the beautiful colors of fall. Nice way to get away from people in a wonderful area.

Many lakes and a couple great view points. An easy-moderate hike that gives you a good taste of the Uintas

We went counter clockwise. Stunning views at top. Beautiful alpine the rest of the route, with many wild flowers in bloom. Peaceful and serene!

Lovely hike. Extremely mild. Beautiful lakes along the way. Bring some hammocks and chairs, as this is a spot to RELAX. Could have spent days exploring the Lofty Lake area. Beautiful formations and very little traffic. Smoky the past couple days, but where is it not. Highly recommended.

Short and sweet! I wouldn’t rate this hard at all, there were plenty of young children and families coming and going. Beautiful walk and beautiful falls. We love this!

Short but fun!

Great hike with beautiful scenery. Some steep, rocky trails. We took a group of kids 11-17 and had a great time.

Great trail. Everything you can ask for.

awesome trail. no water and it gets crowded when folks start getting off of work. great views of the city and beyond

This is a beautiful trail. I suggest going counter clockwise because the second half is steeper so it’s easier to go down.

Great short but steep hike! Perhaps not the most scenic by comparison to its southerly bigger siblings, however Mt. Wire is an awesome experience unto its own. Great views of northern Salt Lake. Be sure to climb the ladder at the top for even better views!

My friend brought me up here for a trail run and it was so beautiful and peaceful... perfect for a trail run. We even saw three deer and a moose.

This hike has beautiful lakes to hike past as you hike to Lofty Lake. At the summit you can see several Mountian ranges as well as other lakes around.

We did this route counter clockwise. This route starts out all uphill for the first 1.5 miles. The trail is well defined in most places and there are a few cairns laid where the trail may get confusing. After reaching the ridge summit you come to Lofty Lake. Great place to take a rest and grab some water and snack. Most of the trail from here is downhill. We saw a few people camping here. Next you come to Cutthroat lake although the trail doesn’t take you down to it. There is a spur trail that can take you down. Our final lake was Kamas Lake. This is the largest of the lakes on this loop. The water was cold but not enough to keep us from taking a quick dip. Once you leave Kamas lake you scramble down some rocky trail and then wander through meadows until you reach the parking lot where you began. For us the weather was just right and we had a breeze to keep the bugs off us. We didn’t even use bug spray. Great quick loop. Would be challenging for kids but not impossible. We saw plenty of families with small children. I would rate this trail as moderate.

Absolutely amazing. Bring tons of water, and if you’re not used to the altitude, you’re gonna be working a lot harder than normal.

Our family loves Lisa Falls, but it is very disappointing that people have tagged the rocks. Very disgraceful!

Beautiful & remote trail with lots of different scenery along the way to a serene lake. Great trail for adventurous tourists!

One of my favorites. But it’s further than 4.5 miles. The views are amazing ! It’s mountain heaven !!

Best mountain bike trail in the salt lake area. The views are awesome the whole way. The trail is somewhat technical in some spots but is very doable.

Started the hike at 5 am and it was awesome!!! I would definitely recommend doing it early morning since there isn't lots of shade through out the hike. Also, the city lights looked amazing!

This hike had amazing views and lots of different terrain. We didn’t calculate it exactly, but all our fit bits tracked it close to 6.5 miles. Official or not it seemed longer. Bug spray is a must. The trail was busier than expected, but we went on a holiday. There is also a scout camp, so you may run into large groups of boys. Also, don’t forget to pay the recreation fee. ($6.00) The drop boxes are not near the trail head. Closest one is by Mirror Lake.

This hike is a great find but definitely a moderate hike. I wish I had known about the bugs because I was eaten alive so bring bug spray! We passed like five lakes and it was so beautiful. Not too crowded which was super nice. I would definitely do this hike again.
