trail running

Ran with my dog on trail in early November. Trail was nice except for a couple spots that had mud that we could easily get around. There was also some construction at trail head by Cedar Avenue. It looked to be almost complete with a nice new parking area. I would use again.

The directions to this trail are incorrect coordinates

The trail is beautiful but completely closed at 35w. It is under several feet of water and impassable. I am not sure why all trails doesn’t show the trail starting earlier since there are trailheads to the east which would allow longer hikes. You can see these on the map and access these between 77s and MOA off of old shakopee road.

Awesome trail! Great hill and rewarding view at the top. Be warned that it is not accessible at this time, though, due to construction on Flying Cloud Drive.

Lilydale regional park was marked as closed to I didn’t do the loop. Cut my hike short and just walked along the paved river path instead. Bummed! Hope to do the loop when it’s open..:

I love finding unpaved trails.

Not bad. Some steep areas up to falls over loose shale but not difficult at all. Nice views on the way up. Very crowded with tons of parent sherpas.everywhere. However it was Labor Day weekend so that definitely contributed to the crowded trails. Makes for a good short, family walk..

Well kept, easy to access, plenty of parking. I ended up just staying in the off leash dog area, which is contained by a fence and is huge.

Great trail. My dog loved it too. You really cant get lost, all directions loop around back close to the parking lot.

I didn’t make it around Bush Lake, but the Highland Lake trail was beautiful. Very peaceful. No dogs allowed on the hiking (non paved) trails—but of course I saw one off the leash .

Nice dirt trails with a light elevation gain as you head South. Wide paths and no roots with a nice view of the ponds, rivers and a creek. Lots of birds too, spotted an Osprey, Great Egret, Great Blue Heron, and many other species on my run.

No dogs allowed on unpaved trails. Otherwise it is a decent walk.

part of the trails are not paved.

Very easy walk, mostly paved. I don’t recommend the lake loop, you end up walking alongside busy city streets and in neighborhoods.

Awesome trails that had pretty good elevation gain over short distances. The Stinks (dog) was tuckered out toward the end. The “Big Woods” have a rich history that you can read about along the trails. I wish it was a longer hike but it was fun!

Lots of route options with several small loops that link together. A great nature route with overlook views at the top

enjoyable trail with a variety of sites (river, forest, quiet residential parks). much of it was technically closed but still accessible. it's not possible to do the entire loop due to flooding and construction.

Some great inclines on unpaved trails. Kids able to climb fine. There are several microclimates in the short walk... woods, sandy, prairie. Great overlook of Shakopee. Bring bug spray and sometimes rain can leave a soggy trail near the parking lot.

the trail is good, but very poorly marked. it becomes difficult to navigate around the loop

several options to run. if you run West of 35W it is pretty flat. if you run east of 35W it is flat if you keep close to the river or more hilly if you keep to the north. I enjoy nice quiet runs down there, there are bikes sharing the trail but overall a nice comradery amongst people who enjoy the great outdoors.

Did not expect to find a trail like this in this area! Great mixed terrain with some awesome (bigger) hills, beautiful woods, great prairies, and overlooks.

Good trail close to home in Eden Prairie.

Nice walk, definitely not difficult outside of the climb up the bluffs it is flat for 80% of the trail. Pretty scenic walk along the river then on top along the bluffs; didn’t see many people which made it peaceful.

lovely forested trail close to city.

so in love with this place! lots of trails off the main paved walkway. if you get tired you can always find a creek to dip your feet in

Nice trails for the ones we could get on. A lot of trails closed due to spring flooding. The Lilydale part of this ride was inaccessible due to trail closed so unable to get anywhere near the bluffs. Enough other areas to ride so still had a great ride.

A good portion of this trail is in a big sloped park that overlooks the Mississippi and down town Saint Paul. The views are great, but the hill is quite a bit of work if you're in a wheel chair or if you're pushing a stroller; however, it's right next to a nice quaint neighborhood and it has a nice jungle gym foe little kids as well.

loved the scenery, beautiful landscape, and alot of fun. they also have a natural spring fountain to drink from

Nice little suburban trail - very underused but kept up nicely. On a few spots you can see a road or some houses, but for the most part it is private and has lots of different types of trees and scenery. Almost makes you forget you are in a city. The loops are broken up into 3 trails so you can mix and match depending on how long you want to hike or how much time you have. There is a park at the trailhead with parking and portable stalls. My kids enjoy this one, pretty relaxing hike. Good spot to see some wildlife. Occasionally you will see some bikers on the trail but everyone has been respectful. I have gone back a few times, it's a nice little hike.

Great hike. Some steep ups and downs, but you're rewarded with nice overlooks.
