This trail is tough but totally worth it. I would recommend hiking with someone because at times it’s a bit dangerous especially if you’re doing all three peaks. It requires some upper body strength and using ropes to assist some of the climb/descent. Views are unparalleled and indescribable! Would recommend hiking shoes for sure.

Very beautiful hike with the enormous variety of plants and trees that flourish in this nice climate. Make sure to use some mosquito repellent before you go and wear shoes with a good grip. January 4th 2019 it was very busy, muddy, and slippery.
It inspired us to go on hikes around where we live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada CA.

I started from the main trail head , up the pillboxes, and continue until I got off the hills next to Kamahele St.

Rocks can be slippery but footing is solid overall. Good workout; nice morning hike.

Not too far but you will definitely feel the elevation. Very rocky and muddy and be mindful of other hikers.

Beautiful hike! 3 days after 4 very full days of rain and Chiquito Falls did not disappoint. It was flowing beautifully. This was quite a hike, felt like more than 9 miles. Some shade but mostly not. Found trail to be pretty clean, especially the second half. Bring lots of water.

Nicely maintained trails and great view especially after rains last few weeks. So green and good volume at The fall! My husband and I managed to complete this hike in 4.5 hours with few breaks.

The falls are beautiful, but we were more drawn to the views along the trail leading up to it, and another trail going through the bamboo woods up to the left of the falls. The views were gorgeous, some looked like they were straight out of Jurassic Park. However, because of the easy accessibility of this trail, it gets crowded.

On the day we went hiking here, we later found out there had been a big land slide by the upper waterfall and that some hikers were missing. Hence, be careful with climbing higher and going off the trails, especially after rain. Take the warning signs seriously!

this trail is STEEP, so wear shoes with good tread.
a little muddy in places but not too bad.

i only went to the first peak; unfortunately i didn’t have time for all 3. the view from the top is gorgeous; you can see all of Kailua and then some.

there are ropes, but they are old. if you can, try to freeclimb the rocky parts.

overall, if you are in shape, this is a super fun trail and i will definitely be coming back to it.

if anyone is looking for a hiking partner I would love to go this week (21st-24th). please just email me @ hannahmariermt@gmail.com

If there was an extra hard, it would be this Hike. Come ready to rock climb, because there’s a ton. Totally worth it! The view is amazing and the hike is challenging.

Fun and lots of water at the falls!

One of my all time favourite hikes. From jungle to clay slopes and steep rocky scrambles, this trail has it all. Amazing views to be well deserved after a challenging climb.

I went with my friend and dog and this was definitely a hike! It’s pretty long, it took us about 6 hours total with a good amount of rest stops and picture taking, especially at the waterfall. I would recommend bringing as much water as you can, it gets tiring and can get hot. I went right after the few days of rain and the waterfall was gushing with water. It was beautiful and worth the hike. I would recommend wearing hiking boots.

great cardio workout with Awesome views.

This’s a decent hike. Way too many people on it trying to catch the Sunset leaving very little Realestate to call your own unless you arrive super early. Head lamp is helpful if you’re going up and it’s still dark outside. After watching the sunset we continued on and around to the other end of the trail. It’s difficult going down and so pray it’s dry or hasn’t rained a few days. The views are beautiful.... But the hike is okay and a decent workout going up and down the trail with decent views.

Nice little trail to see a bit of Palomar Mountain.

One of my favorites.

Wear appropriate shoes if you're not experienced or tend to be a little clumsy like me. Steep but well worth it. Lots of people but it's a short beautiful tropical hike worth visiting.

By far the best hike I have done so far in Hawaii!!! I will not discourage anyone from doing this hike but please know that there will be some climbing to get to the top of the peaks. I only did two but next time I come back I will finish the trail. It is challenging but worth every step you take.

Can get a little muddy but definitely worth the hike. Easy to do and a definite must if you are visiting Hawaii.

Super fun, super beautiful hike. I had wanted to do this for years, ever since I was a little kid riding over the Pali. It did not disappoint and I’ve gone back several times. Avoid if too wet because it can get muddy and people have been seriously injured. But otherwise it’s a fun few hours. The views from the peaks are fantastic and (most) of the tricker parts have ropes to help.

Gorgeous sunrise views!! Very crowded in the mornings so make sure you come EARLY to get parking if you want to see the sunrise. First lookout is maybe 15 min in and the dawn view is already good from there if you want to stop at that point and just chill.

From Manoa Falls, I went up Aihualama. At the end of Aihualama where it meets Pauoa Flats, I took the right and headed towards a lookout point with a bench. Once past Manoa Falls, I hardly came across anyone.

Nice waterfall, but many people.

Terrific hike!

hike with the right conditions make the walk enjoyable, and definitely worth it. The trail does get confusing at the end if you haven't been to the falls before or there are very few hikers around. No swimming space at the waterfall, but often kids climb up and sit on the low ledges on the falls, foliage is also very beautiful, great for picture taking and nature enthusiasts. There are prime picture taking places before the falls if you're just going for the views, large trees and shrubbery/trail markings are nice props for photos. Does get muddy, and depending on how rainy it's been there are bugs/mosquitos. Children, dogs, and active adults will have a great time here, with the right weather conditions.

It’s a great hike with great views! Be sure to take water because it can get very hot.
The hike can be done as an out and back or a loop by continuing past Pillbox #2 and hiking the ridge. The trail will dump you out on Luika Place. CAUTION!!! The trail gets really steep and narrow, the last 1000 feet or so. If it recently rained, forget about going as the trail will get slick and muddy.

This is not an easy hike! Several older hikers had to turn back. AllTrails has a tendency to underestimate the hikes. The falls at the top are tall but not too much water. It’s not Yosemite falls. You’re not suppose to go in the small pool at the bottom of the falls. Lots of steps to the top make it strenuous. When it’s flat then it’s easy. Very slippery and muddy because the trail is in shadow.
