bryson city may 2017 Map

Closed Dec 1-March 31. Wish the app told me this after I drove 2 hours to get here!

Super packed with people! Suggest early rising to avoid the crowd and get decent pics!

If the tower (knew it was closed) was open a 4 Star. Used the Dome pathway as a start for my hike to Andrews Bald. Up to the tower base, across the short section of the AT and down the Dome bypass to Forney Trail.

The reward of the Dome pathway is the VIEWS coming (4 Star) back!!!!!! Even the views from the parking lot are 4 Star!!!!!!

been going to Mingo falls since I was a child. I absolutely love the magestic falls. it is a very easy trek as the path is mostly all stairs. one day i will hike up to the top.

Love this place! Amazing views!!

Easy 5.2 mile hike to campsite 37. Great waterfall views and great campsite. Plenty of firewood and places to get in the water.

Great waterfall with a bench.

I would say this is a easy trail it is short and completely paved

Not sure I’d call this a hiking trail. This is a tourist stop. 1/2 mike up a paved pathway. Lots of people. Parking is crazy. The lookout is great. Highest point in the Smokey mountains and highest point in Tn. My son was 8 and thought it was cool to be higher than clouds. Actually, we was in a cloud part of the walk.

Very clean! Great for the family.

My fault misreading that dogs were allowed on this trail. Of course, it was in January when we visited and when we got to the trail to the waterfall, we discovered no dogs allowed. We walked the creek area and still enjoyed the little rapids.

If you are into hiking you can carefully cross the river using the downed trees and rocks under the waterfall (hiking stick makes it easier) and hike up the left side, there is a path that leads to the top and a smaller waterfall is above it.

I think it was a moderate instead of an easy. We had a blast but lots of breaks.

Went right after the first snow in December, 2017. While I did not enjoy all the steps, (rather would just walk up if possible), once at the Falls, all I could do was be in awe! Well worth the stairs!

It was an amazing hike. We went during the fall with all the colors. Absolutely beautiful.

At the beginning there’s a lot of steps on the stairway up then levels off nice and easy trail to the falls fun trip

My wife and I really enjoyed this trail. It’s pretty easy and includes some beautiful views of the forest. No really good views of the mountains, however, so pick another if that’s what you’re after.

Great trail! But the waterfall is at the 2 mile mark so no need to keep going further in search of a different waterfall.

Well, we did it again on NYE ‘17 and were blessed with snow at the top of the falls! This time we were with our 6 year old and two friends who have a 4 and 6 year old. We attempted to venture to the right of the falls, but were unable to find an accessible route with the little ones. So, we came back down to the bridge and took the same route up to the left as last year— beautiful lookout points for the falls and lots of scrabbling (my dd’s favorite)! This is a win, and we’ll definitely venture back again, someday!

I love this easy hike, and the Midnight Hole and Mouse Creek Falls are worth your time!
Happy New Year outdoor lovers!! :)

We had a great time, lot of stairs but easy to do if you watch your steps.

Great family trail

Easy walk along a scenic river. Enjoyed the small storyboard along the trail explaining Cherokee legends and customs relating to the river and explaining its importance to the Cherokee. Hike was great for us with two young children. Great for families. Was also really peaceful since we didn’t see many people along the trail. We went in December so not sure if would be more crowded during the summer months, but it was not crowded when we went, which was really nice.

Our whole family enjoyed the trail. Some nice waterfalls. The upper loop has some relatively steep parts but my two young kids fared pretty well so its pretty good for families, though some spots of the upper loop are very narrow with a steep drop on one side. We had a great time on the trail.

Went there on my first trip to the Smokies when I was 14. Sadly haven’t been back since. I remember it being a short trail to the bottom of the falls and there was another trail off to the side that went to the top.

Great trail. Easy to follow. Three waterfalls

My husband proposed to me up here!!

This is a nice little hike/walking trail along a beautiful section of river. We saw several elk in the wood near the beginning. Great for dogs and young kids.

Take bear spray with you. I was about 2 miles into the Sunkota Ridge Trail from where it begins when you do it counterclockwise from Deep Creek when I hear loud rustling, look up, and see a momma black bear charging me from 50 yards away with two cubs following behind. I stopped, she stopped, we stared at each other for a little bit and I backed away slowly and went back the way I came. So much for the reviews on here that say there was no wildlife to see. Ten minutes later I heard some more rustling, soiled my pants again, and then saw two deer feet away from the trail.
