Great hike. I started the hike at sunrise and was the first up the trail. The lighting was perfect for pics. Beautiful views, scenery and falls. I was joined by a couple people at the falls. The parking lot was full when I returned.
Beautiful views around every turn! Did it clockwise, which was a terrible decision. Wish my phone had cell service there for me to pull up the app so I could read the reviews before starting! Ha! Still gorgeous, though! Just more difficult than was necessary. Oh, and no bathrooms at trailhead parking lot.
Super unique hike! My husband has done it before and we did it clockwise per his suggestion, since I didn’t read any of these helpful reviews before :) We probably made it much more strenuous than necessary but it was a good experience! Totally exposed most of the time so be prepared with sun protection.
Amazing
Very fun trail, just hiked on 4/20/21. We did peekaboo and then spooky. Once you get up the starting wall on Peekaboo the rest is very doable. Spooky is much narrower and more difficult with a big drop off as well in the middle of it. Not everyone will be able to do these trails, need to have good upper body strength and not be too big (wide).
Great trail!
Awesome hike!
Great trail so pretty
The miles were not accurate. It was beautiful.
Great trail! Definitely go counterclockwise or else you will really be feeling the inclines
Definitely worth the trek! You pass through Ponderosa pines, hoodoos, juniper fields and so much more. We saw several chipmunks, too, which is always a treat. It's most certainly a workout, so eat a big breakfast before arriving early to beat the crowds.
Super cool hike!!! Would highly recommend it. Road to trailhead is a right dirt road for about 8 miles. Totally worth it. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. Can get very hot.
Did this hike this weekend it it was spectacular! For a total of 3 slot canyons to go through its pretty great! Beautiful colors later in the afternoon. We hiked it Spooky first to peekaboo, aside from having to find corners to avoid other travelers, this way was considerably easier to climb the section in spooky rather than descend. It’s definitely not an easy adventure but well worth it.
Incredible, go counter clockwise.
Great trail! I’d recommend going counterclockwise. If there’s no parking at the Fairyland Loop trailhead, you can get to the loop from parking near the general store.
Beautiful hike and waterfall at the end were well worth it! The terrain was varied in geological features and trail unique with the sand. We wore hiking boots and had no issues but I can see how the hike would feel more strenuous with sneakers or sandals. Little shade until the very end so be prepared for sun protection. My husband and I maintained a good 15-20min/mile pace and finished in 2:35hrs, even with hanging out at the waterfall a bit. As others have said, if you want to see the sun shining on the waterfall do plan to get there by 1pm. We got there at 2:30 and it was still great, but shaded and chilly. Also highly recommend the campsite at the trailhead! We had planned to tent camp on BLM land, but got lucky with a great spot here when we pulled off the road just to check it out.
I loved this hike! Kodachrome is a freaking gem, and this trail let us see quite a lot of it. It was super quiet on a Thursday evening, we saw 4 other people the entire time.
The connector to peekaboo loop is closed right now, not sure how to access
Beautiful views of pink red white hoodoos! Would recommend counter clockwise to save the best views for the end
A little boring but a good trail. Definitely go counter clockwise otherwise you’re hiking at an incline for 5+ miles
Trail to the slot canyons is a pretty level / easy hike, until you start descending to the wash. Once on the ground, recommend doing peekaboo first, and then spooky. To get into peekaboo, you will need to climb up about 15 feet on boulders. Narrow in some spots - will need to remove backpacks in some cases. To get to spooky after peekaboo, you will need to follow a dirt trail for about a mile. In spooky, there are more narrow areas and one spot where you will need to descend down about 15 feet using a rope.
Bryce connection trail is closed. We still get the Peekaboo loop from Sunset or Sunrise points.
Awesome trail! Incline at the beginning will get you warmed up, great views! We did it along with garden trail + Navajo loop
beautiful hike. thank you to everyone who suggested taking this hike counter clockwise! It seems to be easier on the knees and it was nice because the snow that rolled in last night made the part of the rim trail and the first section of the loop from sunrise point pretty snow covered so going down was best. Also to who ever left their gas station coffee cup on one of the view points...DO BETTER. I picked this up about 3 miles from the main trailhead and was extremely disappointed to see it sitting there. PACK OUT ALL TRASH!!!
Wow! This trail is absolutely stunning. There were definite ups and Downs, so whichever way you choose to go is up to you. We went counterclockwise and started up a strenuous hill. The views are breathtaking, cannot beat. I highly recommend this! Come prepared though, water, layers etc
Staff at the lodge recommended walking all the way down the Rim Trail and skipping the first entrance to the trail as it made for a more gradual return. Great advice. We hiked in breezy snow and only occasionally saw another footprint. Very quiet with great views of hoodoos. Some steep terrain; hiking sticks helped.
Beautiful hike! Moderate traffic. I made sure to start earlier in the morning so I didn’t run into a lot of people.
