Beautiful trail but definitely not for beginners in this season, get spikes and snow gear since it's already covered by snow.

Did the hike joffre lake 25 years ago for 5 years in a row. Was one of my favorite. No one on the trail. Now did it on August long weekend this year. Wow so busy. But still so beautiful.

Beautiful trail that was quite well maintained. Used micro spikes for the most part and glad we brought our snowshoes to complete the final 500-700m as there was a good foot of snow.

What a hike!
Beautiful drive to the trailhead; well maintained roads and no snow.
The trail is very well maintained and has multiple outhouses throughout the trail to the the lake, as well as some at the lake in the Campground areas.
There was no snow at the beginning of the hike, but it didn't take long before we hit snow. The snow was dry and crunchy so it was not too slippery on the way up, I did use (and highly recommend) microspikes on the way down.
It is a decent climb up, definitely gave my legs a good workout! We started on the trail around 930am and made it to the lake camping area right around 1230/1240pm. Had a quick snack and some tea in the shelters (so cool that they have these!!) before heading back down. We hustled back down in 2 hours (thanks microspikes!).
The lake was absolutely beautiful and the blanket of snow made everything feel quiet and peaceful. I will definitely do this one again!

Nice easy walk

Left the lake at about noon on Sunday. There is about a foot of snow at the lake and about as much at Taylor meadows. The trail is clear from rubble creek up until about the 4 or 5 km mark. After that it’s pretty well packed snow. Can be a little slippery so boots with good tread or spikes are a good idea if you want to make it all the way to the lake.

Beautiful trail, I think it is for beginners too but just when don’t have snow. I went today and it is very slippery, spikes are highly recommended. Bring extra clothes just in case if you fall and get wet. Use gloves, scarf, hood, and nice and warm clothes. We already started the fall/winter season so you will need it because is very cold there.

Beautiful hike and very easy. It was snowing for much of our hike, but the trail was already well packed. There is very little elevation change so it was easy to bring our younger niece with us. The lake was mostly frozen, but the far end (from the trailhead and resort) was unfrozen and there were opportunities to see the reflection of the mountains and forest off the water. We also saw moose in the avalanche chute at the start of the trail along the lake (but made sure to stand there for too long).

The view of the natural amphitheater at the end was well worth the steepness of the trail and the snow. We went up without snowshoes, but luckily some snowshoers had gone ahead of us and packed down some of the trail. The footprints ended at the start of the amphitheater, maybe 200m from the end of the trail, but the view was already incredible so it was no loss. The snow was knee deep for the last half kilometer or so. The trail had few others on it, even on the parts along the lake (although there are many sightseers coming off buses at the trailhead parking lot).

Beautiful three lakes, and easy hike. Good for a beginner too. Parking was full.

Great trail - we were not expecting the trail to be so well maintained. There’s a couple outhouse bathrooms along the way. The lake at the end was stunning. Just a little bit of frost and ice on a couple parts of the trail today but no big deal at all.

Absolutely gorgeous. Constant elevation so packs were a little grueling but well worth the reward

Hiked on Nov 17 - bright beautiful day in the forecast and cold. Trails are compact snow and ice in sections now: RUNNERS NOT APPROPRIATE. Allow for extra time due to slippery sections. Arrived at 945am, parking easy. Try to time it so that you are at the third lake just after noon bc before that the sun is still behind the mountain and it's shady. Most of the trail will be in the shade so dress appropriately. Highly recommend cramp-ons at this point. Beautiful way to spend the morning if you're prepared. Left at 1:30 and lot was full.

It’s perfect for a relaxing run. No need to rush. Just take it in and enjoy!

View is spectacular. Snow and ice on the trail.

Nice views, to much foot traffic for my liking. But a decent hike to be able to do atleast once

Amazing walk breathtaking views

PNW at it's best

Easy, beautiful hike with tons of wild flowers in the Summer!!

Great hike overall. We encountered some light snow patches just past the 6km mark, making it a bit muddy on the way down.
The lake is amazing with a great view of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Camping facilities are ok, with outhouses, cooking shelters and bear caches for storing food. Awesome experience!

A nice hike close to the city. Good variations and nice views from the dam.

Easy walk with great views on an asphalt path

A beautiful location for a walk and definitely a great place for a run .. lovely gardens, beautiful scenery and wonderful people along the trail .. recommended

Hiked to the 3rd lake today. Getting to second lake was quite crowed in the afternoon with many people that were not prepared. The trail to the second lake was slippery in some sections and muddy once it became high trafficked.
Go to the third lake, was icy in spots and there has been a dusting of snow. Very quiet at the third lake if you walk around to where the camp sites are.

Get to the trailhead before 9am to secure yourself a parking spot. It was a surprisingly quiet hike on a weekend morning. But it sure does get crowded early afternoon. The viewpoint at Upper Lake is great but can get busy. We continued on towards the campsites (10 minutes) to the secluded sandy beach and took our lunch break there. The views are even more spectacular there!

Nice easy hike with great views. The vegetation is quite different from one side of the lake to other.

Amazing hike! Could present a challenge for novice hikers. Bring plenty of water and a snack to eat at the lake. You can camp on designated areas and swimming in the lake is allowed. If you plan on fishing make sure you have a license and follow regulations. Bringing an inflatable raft is recommended since the fish are not close to the shore. Apparently open 24/7 and all year round.
