This trail is my favorite at home! It's only a mile from where I live so it's special plus childhood memories of the area.

great trail to challenge your leg strengths. I am a beginner hiker and it was a bit hard. it was worth to see the view on top!

Hiked on a good weather weather Saturday and the trail was crowded. But the views and terrain were worth it. Was harder than I expected. A lot of elevation gain in 3 miles.

Love this trail. Our family has been up and down a couple of times and will be back. Views are great and trail is difficult enough to make it a great half day climb.

Easy day hike with cool views and nice waterfall. The airstrip offers some nice views if you hike out to the end. The trails are forest roads so doesn't offer much fun or challenge in terms of 'hiking'. You can also add in the Reasonover Creek Trail to make a longer loop.

Nice hike. More private than other waterfalls in dupont. Good swimming spot as well.

Great swim spot. Love going behind the falls and sliding out on the rock.

One of the first amazing spots I went the first time I visited North Carolina. Now I live within hiking distance of all the falls in Dupont State Forest. Awesome trails for all ages and amazing waterfalls. The only downside is it does get very busy during the summer.

Wife and I hiked this one last Sunday and we will return. The sign at the trailhead says the trail is strenuous, but it is moderate at most so don't be deterred. I'm 69 and not in the greatest shape and I made it just fine. Lots of flow due to the recent rain and temps in the 60's so it was a great day to be on this trail.

Easy, short hike to pretty waterfalls. Low effort, high yield. Large parking lot right at the trail head. Way too crowded on a weekend though, I passed seriously no less than a hundred people coming and going. Very muddy as well because of recent rains. If you’re coming to Asheville from the east this would be a great pit stop (a couple miles off I-40) but I otherwise wouldn’t go out of my way to hike it again.

Nice easy walk through the woods. Trails were in good condition and well marked. It was wet and a little sloppy in places. My 9 year old had no problems and I managed carrying a 3 year old in a pack.

Beautiful waterfalls and scenery along hike. Ok view at top.

Do the hike several times a month.
Great hike, magnificent view from the rock face.
One of my favorite hikes.

Our family hiked this with kids 6,8, and 12. They did great! Beautiful waterfalls!

Great hike! Good trail running parts of it as well, especially on the descent. The view was beautiful, but wish there was a bit more to it. Recommend, though!

Great trail for families and fairly easy for older hikers. I’m 59 and had no problems. I even traversed down to the river for a photo opportunity.

We did Triple Falls, High Falls and Hooker Falls in that order. 3.5 miles.

Not as steep as I thought it was gonna be based on other people's reviews. Signage is good. Not quite as scenic as Pinnacle Mountain trail. I can't imagine how great this area looks when the fall colors are peaking...

Didn't see anyone else on the Pinnacle Mountain Trail. Trail is well-signed and easy to follow. Nice waterfalls on this trail. Not too much really steep stuff, pretty gradual the whole way. Temps were in high 20s today, but the incline of the trail was just enough to warm up to ideal temperature.

great trail, awesome views

We hiked to these gorgeous falls for the 1st time today and we fell in love!

We started out at the visitor’s center where Marijane, a very helpful volunteer, gave us a map & went over the hike details. I was glad to be offered a map since at least one review mentioned a poorly marked trail. It turns out that we didn’t need the map at all. The trail is clearly marked with signs at every intersection. I will add here that we have been hiking as a family for over 20 years, so we are well seasoned.

We took the right at the Y, then went to the covered bridge before doubling back to the loop and continuing to High Falls. It was a magnificent sight! The trail continued to Triple Falls where a nice set of wooden steps (approx 100 in all) lead us right onto a rocky shelf at waters’ edge. The staircase had many decks with benches if you need to rest. We followed the loop on around & ventured down to Hooker Falls. The path was very steep but only for a short distance. We retraced the path & joined the loop, walking on the forest side of the trail & ended back at the visitor’s center.

There are bathrooms at the center in addition to several port-a-potties along the trail. There are also many picnic benches spread throughout the loop. This was a great morning hike & if you take your time, even young kids could walk the gravel trail the whole way!

Wouldn't rate this as "hard" but decent hike up with a nice view at the end.

We parked at the stables and went in November. It was on the tail end of lead season and beautiful.

Some of the reviews/directions are hard to follow on here. Take the main road and use the BUCKHORN GAP trail head. We missed this and ended up three miles uphill.

Once we got on track it was pretty straight forward and the directions made sense. Just make sure to use the correct trail head.

Beautiful hike along the river with countless smaller falls. Lots to explore. Very wet so the hiking poles were a big help, but the water made the fall extra amazing! Don’t miss this one!

It was amazzzzing! it was fairly long, taking us about 4 hours, including stopping along the way and at the top. lots of zigzags, and an upwards hike at almost every location on the trail, but the view is totally worth it! you're so high, and youre standing on a stone face overlooking miles and miles of mountains and trees, and it is really just breathtaking. really makes you feel in tune with nature!

Amazing hike. Not an easy one-but I loved it for that. If you are looking for a challenging hike-this will be the one. Loved this one.

Not a hard hike at all. It’s definitely quite trafficked with the many highlands visitors including large groups of family. Very pretty falls. We enjoyed it!!

Quick hike, nice views!

Great trail for about 7-70 years of age - if in good shape. a few steep hills. but always wide trails.
