Beautiful hike! It is actually an easy hike with great surroundings. Easy to get to and good for kids if they are up to a 6 miles walk.

Nice hike. Not too hard for those from sea-level elevation but still challenging on the lungs.
For those with any balance issues it could be tricky... certain areas of the hike had lots of awkward tree roots to step over and various sections of large rocks as part of the trail.
Lots of beautiful meadows and scenery.
After reaching the sign indicating the “Gore Range” we kept going straight on the N Ten Mike trail, through some interesting portions of trail through bushes and marsh (feet got soaked) and eventually the darn trail just disappeared and we never did get to arrive at a lake. We were bummed.

Very beautiful. Not easy, not hard, but challenging. Needed up being 8.82 miles total bc we never found the lake.

Excellent trail overall. Good views. Made it to the second lake above tree line. It is a deeper lake. No fish in it i could see. It was easy to lose the trail in spots due to the amount of paths made by previous people going off the main trail. My wife and I briefly got lost but back tracked. Not a big deal but be aware.

Beautiful! Spectacular fall color

Nice moderate trail, rocky in some spots with a few steep climbs. Higher altitude than I’m used to hiking, so had to pace myself. Great views of pines and aspens that had bright yellow leaves, but nearing end. Small waterfall still flowing and nice backdrop for pictures. We went to the first lake which was crystal clear. Saw some goats high on the ridge at various spots along the hike.

Lower Mohawk Lake - late start on Saturday the 22nd. It never ceases to amaze me how inaccurate the mileage is on All Trails. I went up Spruce Creek trail to Lower Mohawk and it was right at 3.4 to 3.5 miles. Sign at the start of the trail says 3.4 miles to Mohawk Lakes. The trail is nice and gradual until you get to the end of the 4WD road and the creek diverter. Then the trail is rocky, straight up, paths all over the place and felt like a 14neer at times. My elevation gain was about 1300ft. I started at 3pm and got to the lower lake at 4:40pm. I went back down the 4WD road because of the waning light and to see how rough the road was and measured about 3.2 miles. Definitely passable in most SUVs. The lake was pretty but not sure worth the overall effort. I'm glad I went late in the day because it was a zoo at the parking lot and road. Passed so many hikers coming down as I was going up. Not to be a Debbie Downer but I was unimpressed. Maybe the upper lakes make it worth the effort.

Beautiful, well marked trail. I hike this trail every season, it never ceases to impress me!!

Great easy hike! I did this in fall and the changing colors of the trees was very beautiful. You can algo get spectacular views of the Dillon, Silverthorne area. Good for families!

Great moderate hike with waterfalls, and three lakes - most people stop at the first one though so if you keep pushing on you'll have two beautiful turquoise lakes to yourself.

Perfect day today. Was able to see yellow leaf aspens still.

Perfect hike to take anyone on. So easy and ridiculously scenic. You could easily spend an hour or more enjoying the views, eating a meal, or watching the outdoor weddings that seem to happen all day long.

Very nice hike, not nearly the amount of aspens we were hoping for, quite a bit of dead pines at the beginning. Creek at trail side for much of the time was very pleasant. Not too difficult once past the uphill section at the beginning.

Great hike!!! Saw some deer on the way back. There was a moose reported around the ponds today but we missed it. Great scenery along the river. Would definitely do it again!

Nice moderate hike. Easy at start, several lake views and nice waterfalls.

Awesome hike! Everything in below reviews is pretty spot on. Took someone visiting from Illinois not accustomed to the elevation and myself who is not the fittest or experienced hiker and we made it to the waterfall and back in 4 hours. We could have kept going, but we had a time crunch to get back to town. No bathrooms at the trailhead so make sure to go in Breck before you get to the trail.

Amazing views at the upper lakes: definitely go further from the upper mohawk lake. I started at 05:30 and was alone at the top, when I got back down around 11 there were a lot of people. The trail up to the lower mohawk lake has a lot of small side trails and it wasn't always clear to me if i was going te right way, so would recommend having the trail offline to be sure (I forgot). Also: I saw many people going up the 4WD road from the parking lot, but you can go on the spruce creek trail through the forest.

Had a wonderful morning hike to Lily Pad lake. It was easy to take my dog (leashed) and there were some moose in the first pond on the trail.

9 lakes on the trail. make sure to go to lakes above upper mohawk, favorite of the all

Was a very nice trail. Took spruce trail up and it was very easy. After you get to the road from the trail the fun starts. At some points I thought this was a more difficult trail as you are climbing up a rock face. We left around 9:30am, put up our hammocks for about 45 min at the lower lake and got back to the car around 2:15pm. Definitely a challenge but the view is worth it!

Excellent trail. I would consider it moderate to difficult. The lakes were low so the waterfall wasn’t that great. But overall it is worth the effort. Something i learned is to take spruce creek trail from the trailhead to avoid walking up the jeep trail from the parking lot. Saw mt goats at the lake along with a beautiful view.

Amazing views and we got to see moose who were out and about

Just as the last 2 reviews stated the first 1/2 mile was flat and uninteresting, but a welcome break returning. We hiked to the first lake and the trail was moderate and the falls and views at the lake were mesmerizing. We decided to continue to the second lake which was not a maintained trail and difficult to follow. There was some cairns to help but the trial is overgrown and parts were more rock climbing than hiking. The views on the hike were incredible and we met a mountain goat on the trail. The second lake was a disappointment, as it was most dry. It was 3.1 miles to the second lake with 1400 feet elevation gain. We lost the trial a couple times retuning but eventually found our way. Unless you want to views, skip the second lake this time of year. I am sure it is beautiful in the late spring or early summer.

The highlight for my four kids was feeding the chipmunks. The views were also spectacular! Next time I’m bringing lunch as there are picnic tables at the top. We went on a Sunday so there was a lot of traffic and a lot of kids feeding the chipmunks. Please remember to approach the chipmunks quietly as to not scare them all away from others who are enjoying the chipmunks. This was a favorite and highly recommend for families.

Loved it, challenging (especially w/wind) but easy down!! Beautiful!!

Awesome but long

Read the "getting there" carefully. GO to the LEFT at the trailhead junction sign. First part on road is boring, but once it is a single track trail, the hike through the woods, to the waterfall and lake were awesome. I didn't realize there were multiple lakes, so I missed that, but I was mesmerized by the mountain goats. Three sets of mamas with their babies. They sure blend into the rocks if you don't know they are there. LOVED the goats...pics and more info here: https://etbtravelphotography.com/2018/09/17/roadtrip-to-the-rockies-breckenridge/

Easy drive and beautiful views. I haven't seen any reviews mentioning the NARROW ROAD. So be aware the road is very narrow in some areas with room for only one vehicle at a time and not a lot of space to pull off. Because we were unaware of the narrowness of it we drove up in our Raptor which is WIDE. Not very many courteous people drive through there and most don't have road etiquette and didn't even attempt to make room even though WE were on the cliff side. Other than that the ride was beautiful and we saw the beautiful Fall Aspens.

Great trail. The first part was an old 4-wheel trail, so I was a little disappointed. But keep pushing on, and it's a fun hike through trees, over rocks, and just a bit challenging. We made it to the second lake, and my husband made it to the third. Didn't see any goats today, but there's always next time. Colors were beautiful today.

Great trail. Excellent views. Lakes are amazing. Lots of mountain goats!

What a great hike! Just right for all abilities.
