Pretty difficult considering the snow, mud, slush, and ice. However, totally worth it when you get to the top! I will be returning when the trail is dry.

Great hike, a little harder then we were thinking. Brought two labs along, they got muddy but the Arch gave a nice view and a great place to sit and eat a little snack. The hike it self was out and back, the way there being mostly up hill. I thought it was "moderate" but definitely some slippery rocks this time of year. Wish i had worn my hiking boots, no my old tennis shoes.

Gorgeous hike. Can be heavy traffic on the weekend but still not bad. The view is worth the hike.

Beautiful day on the trail. Even though this is ranked moderate it’s a tough one. The views from the arch are incredible.

Awesome hike! The climb was a fun challenge. Be ready for a crowd.

Many trails shown in the map are closed which makes me detour around for more than one mile. In general a good but tiring trail.

Great day for a hike. Beautiful park. A bit too crowded for me. I got here early so parking was not an issue but there are not a lot of spots to park.

Great trail! Has a beautiful view of the flatirons and a creek running along the entire trail for your dogs to cool off on a hot day. They have trash stations through out the trail so you’re not carrying poop bags for too long. Very dog friendly!! My only complaint is that this parking lot is pretty small and space fills up quick. I go in the middle of the day through the week. If there’s no space there’s always dry creek trail a few minutes up the road!

Great hike, although a little crowded on the weekends.

I LOVED the flatirons! This was my first hike in Boulder as someone who was traveling from out of state. The elevation definitely makes this a bit more challenging, though I would say I struggled more with walking the inclined trail than the rocky terrain. Some of the areas were pretty challenging while others weren't so bad. Wear good hiking boots/shoes and you'll be set! The view from the top was fantastic.

I don’t understand why this is rated hard and Sanitas is rated moderate.

Very rocky and in some areas eroded. Nice tree coverage. For the most part a lot of incline... up up up! Heavy traffic on the weekends, lots of families and dogs. The parking lot was full by 1 PM on Sunday.

It feels like 18,000 stairs. Moderate? The view at the top made it worth it. Very challenging hike. It was not crowded at all but the parking lot was full.

Have done this hike multiple times. Short but challenging as it a pretty consistent climb. The trail is clear of all snow and ice at this point. The nicer weather has brought out huge crowds lately, so go early! I had the top to myself today for several minutes around 930 AM. Great views at the top!

Moderate/difficult but totally doable. Heavily trafficked but really beautiful and worth it.

Great trail for a half day hike. View is awesome. We added the Flatiron loop on the way back.

I was thoroughly surprised with how much I enjoyed this trail. It was much more difficult than I anticipated, you’ll definitely get your heart rate up. But it’s worth the climb. It’s very rocky most of the trail which my pup and I loved, but I did notice a couple older ones who struggled climbing a bit in some steep spots.

Fun and currently in good condition. View at the top is tough to beat.

One of my absolute favorite hikes during the week and in the off season. During the warmer months and on weekends this drops far down my list with the amount of people on the trail. This is definitely on the higher end of the Moderate scale if not straight up Hard. This was slippery from when I went last October to this past week in April. Definitely recommend spikes or crampons, saw many people fall on their backs. The view from the Arch is beautiful and a great place for a rest and picnic.

A great & intense little hike for a long lunch break (2hrs) in the middle of the day. Definitely one of my top 3 favorite hikes in Boulder.

Beautiful

Great elevation incline in first stretch and covered winding trailed going up. Beautiful views from top, as well as solid rocks!

No snow on the ground and amazing views 50% throughout. A good challenge on the elevation and incline. Plenty of room at the top to hang out and continue exploring.

The initial climb to the actual rocks was difficult. Once you get to the rocks, climbing through them and being on the trail is way easier. There are a ton of little spots where you can stop and take a breather without being in the way of other people. The view from the top was awesome!

Loved it! Fun and challenging with excellent views!

Perfect day hike for when someone is visiting that enjoys a bit of a challenge.

Fantastic, scenic hike in fresh, late March snow. Physically pretty demanding on the way up but technically not too difficult on the way down. Did the loop clockwise.
