beautiful easy hike

easy breeze hike. nice views.

Perfect easy trail for a long walk in the woods, or a nice run. We found it to be absolutely enchanting. There were some patches of ice, but not enough to require spikes or boots.

I hiked down this from Mt. Sanitas. I will definitely be back to run up!

Steady climb and overall fun run.

Climbed 11/11/18 - If you regularly climb high peaks like me then you will barely get warmed up by the time your standing on the summit. That said this mountain is great for certain experiences. For example, I hiked this during a mellow snow storm with 6 inches of snow on the ground and it provided a magical experience to share with my wife (which is what we wanted). This is a fantastic hike, to take someone who doesn't do big hikes, for a quick but beautiful experience.

Decent trail/path, but very busy in a number of ways -- not always courteous bikers, pot-heads near the park, city walkers taking up the whole path, and the busy road along side. So, it sort-of suffers from being too close to a city, but nice enough to get a little outside.

Ran this trail yesterday. The parking lot only had one car in it when I arrived at noon and about five when I finished 1hr27min later. Saw a few couples hiking and one MTB. This was a fun trail - not too difficult. I tend to go counter-clockwise. So, if you’re going counter-clockwise then you’ll start going downhill all the way through the back side of Jefferson Loop. It isn’t until you get back on Canyon Loop where you start to climb back up. I didn’t do the 1/4 mile detour to the road as shown on the map. So, 7.1mile with 672 feet of climb.

Great trail without a lot of loose rock and fairly easy footing. Steady inclines and great views made the hike really enjoyable. Parking can be a bit tough but the hike is well worth it!

Lots of snow last weekend when we were there! Only saw 4 other people while we were out!

Took my dog on this pretty hike/walk, not very busy on a November morning. The only rough part was driving there honestly- Lickskillet Rd up to Gold Hill was a scary steep gravel road- both up and down. My newer Prius made it, but I recommend taking Sunshine Canyon rather than Left Hand Canyon to get there.

Good, easy hike - little surprised to see it was moderate. Nice views! Only negative was a good chunk of the drive up was unpaved, and it had rain/snowed so an unanticipated muddy car.

Gorgeous, nice short walk with some stairs.

a lot of bikers. wouldn't recommend running here on the days bikes are allowed

Very short but beautiful. It’s pretty easy but there are stairs made of rock. (Rocks are pretty firmly in place) It took us less than 20 minutes including taking pictures.

So so. Nothing special.

Moderate hiking. There is no spectacular view point but good to hike with young kids

Beautiful vista from up top. Definitely worth the rocky climb.

Added it on to the Mt. Sanitas loop to make the hike longer (4 1/2 total). Nice way to start. Parking lot had plenty of space at 8 am.

It’s short but a very fun and rewarding workout. Great views from the top. Hop on the Switzerland trail at the trailhead if you want to add on some mileage.

Nice trail for a leisurely stroll. Super short but beautiful at the top. Great for a short morning walk. Kid-friendly!

There's definitely no lake, but this is a beautiful hike through a woodland setting with intermittent shrub land. I did run into one jerk on a bike who pretended not to know that he wasn't allowed there on Wednesdays despite there being 4 signs pointing out the law, but thankfully only saw him once.

The grade is gentle throughout the whole loop and the trail is hard packed dirt with some very easy to avoid rocks. This should really be considered easy rather than moderate. In fact, most of the people I saw there were elderly and had no problem.

Saw deer, squirrels, and plenty of birds, including bluejays.

Go counter clockwise for a slightly easier ascent at the end, but easy either way.

Beautiful drive especially in the fall, but should not be rated easy...definitely moderate. Coming back down was much easier. We saw a Moose on the way up which was really cool! Only about 3 areas that were tricky. The entrance being the worst of it. Coming back down was much easier.

Good spot, some good shade for hot day. Minimal people despite proximity to boulder.

Fun, easy, forested trail with several good look out points over the river. Lots of sweet dogs and a few nice people. Went in late September and the Aspens were amazing!

Nice short hike, we went up the rocks to get to the top and hiked around the rocks for a while. Perfect for pictures! The rocks are gorgeous. Nice hike for being so close to town. Surprisingly, we only ran in to one person while we hiked the whole time. Good workout! Not for elderly or overweight for sure!

Got pushed off Hessie this week due to parking space, so came back to brainard area. Always solid hiking. Completed the Waldrop, long lake, brainard winter loop circuit with the usual team. Great weather and trails are usually free from crowding regardless of number of cars in the lot. Will return to do other loops at other times

Quiet hike on a weekday . Super easy flat terrain . Aspens looked beautiful
