Pretty difficult considering the snow, mud, slush, and ice. However, totally worth it when you get to the top! I will be returning when the trail is dry.

I love how close to Boulder it is! Great views and a good workout

Great trail some rock climbing beautiful views at top.

Great hike, a little harder then we were thinking. Brought two labs along, they got muddy but the Arch gave a nice view and a great place to sit and eat a little snack. The hike it self was out and back, the way there being mostly up hill. I thought it was "moderate" but definitely some slippery rocks this time of year. Wish i had worn my hiking boots, no my old tennis shoes.

Very steep and a bit slippery on the way down. Very busy but it was Earth Day afterall! Good views!

I did this trail on 4/22/18 with no spikes and a walking stick. Parts of this trail got really sketchy without spikes. I got through it but would definitely not recommend going with just hiking boots, it got real dangerous but the view at the top is really amazing. Took me 4hrs to go there and back

$8 per car so bring friends. Beautiful hike. The top part of this trail is closed until July 15, 2018 but you can still hike to the continental divide view.

Brought poles and yak tracks, were very grateful to have them.

Amazing views, great trek. Lake today was frozen, the snow was piled high but the trail itself was packed in most areas.

Did this hike 04/20/2018. Before getting to the entrance of the park, you drive very slowly through unpaved dirt road not leveled at all. The entrance to the park is $8 per vehicle. Once you enter the park the bathrooms are right at the entrance, no more bathrooms after that. The park is breathtaking. The hike is through canyons, steady incline going up, no climbing over rocks or difficult obstacles. I would rate this easy if you get tired just take more breaks. There is also a trail called Fowler Trail you can do after this hike. Fowler is a super easy trail, the views are amazing, plenty of places for pictures.

Gorgeous hike. Can be heavy traffic on the weekend but still not bad. The view is worth the hike.

Beautiful day on the trail. Even though this is ranked moderate it’s a tough one. The views from the arch are incredible.

Awesome hike! The climb was a fun challenge. Be ready for a crowd.

Great day for a hike. Beautiful park. A bit too crowded for me. I got here early so parking was not an issue but there are not a lot of spots to park.

Hiked on 4/17/2018. Left Long's Peak Ranger station at 9:15am and reached Chasm Lake at 12:00pm. Did the whole trail with micro-spikes only. Trail is well traveled and well packed. Micro spikes a must. Weather was perfect on the way up, clear and a little windy. On the way back around 1:30pm it got really windy and started snowing. I made a hustle to get back to the treeline as fast as possible. Made it back to the Ranger station at 2:15pm.

Love it. Amazing views!

Great hike, although a little crowded on the weekends.

I loved all the different colors and scenery on this hike. Lots of different plants and flowers. The beginning of the trail was probably the hardest and strongest incline, after that it's fairly flat. There was some snow when I went and certain areas were kinda slippery so be mindful of the weather. Beautiful trail.

I LOVED the flatirons! This was my first hike in Boulder as someone who was traveling from out of state. The elevation definitely makes this a bit more challenging, though I would say I struggled more with walking the inclined trail than the rocky terrain. Some of the areas were pretty challenging while others weren't so bad. Wear good hiking boots/shoes and you'll be set! The view from the top was fantastic.

Hiked on 4/16, the trail is well packed with snow, and not super icy. I would still recommend spikes and poles, but snowshoes are not needed. Above tree line, this trail can be brutally windy. Me and some other hikers in front of me were turned back by gale force winds that would knock you over and make it difficult to move forward. I would recommend checking the wind conditions for the trail, but even making it as far as I did the views of Longs Peak were seriously awesome.

Beautiful winter hike, gorgeous views of Longs Peak. Didn't need the snowshoes yesterday but was glad to have the microspikes. There are a couple areas of exposure just before the big snowfield traverse, probably better early with ice and microspikes than later with softer snow.

Wonderful workout! Definitely a steep trek

I don’t understand why this is rated hard and Sanitas is rated moderate.

Yaaaaahhhh! Gorgeous day, friendly people on the trail. Steep at times, short and fun.

Very rocky and in some areas eroded. Nice tree coverage. For the most part a lot of incline... up up up! Heavy traffic on the weekends, lots of families and dogs. The parking lot was full by 1 PM on Sunday.

Love this area! Packed snow the whole way to Lost Lake, spikes or snowshoes are not necessary but I did see a few folks with them on. The dirt road leading up the fork for Hessie TH and 4th of July was closed. So be sure to get here early as parking (which in general is tough usually) will have to be on the side of the road in Eldora until the dirt road reopens. Very peaceful hike and I had the lake all to myself (started the hike around 8:30am). I will definitely be back in the summer!

It feels like 18,000 stairs. Moderate? The view at the top made it worth it. Very challenging hike. It was not crowded at all but the parking lot was full.

Wonderful hike with my girls, ages 11 & 13.

Have done this hike multiple times. Short but challenging as it a pretty consistent climb. The trail is clear of all snow and ice at this point. The nicer weather has brought out huge crowds lately, so go early! I had the top to myself today for several minutes around 930 AM. Great views at the top!

Moderate/difficult but totally doable. Heavily trafficked but really beautiful and worth it.

Great trail for a half day hike. View is awesome. We added the Flatiron loop on the way back.

Hiked on April 14th. Great hike! Definitely need micro-spikes. Really, really beautiful. The drop from the trail to Chasm Lake is actually pretty steep, which in the snow we decided to do anyways and just took some small boulder climbing. AMAZING views. The final few turns in the trail after the privy had some icy spots with steep drop offs but with the micro-spikes it wasn’t bad at all, just take it slow if it’s icy. It’s just so freaking beautiful. Start early in the morning. It gets icier and windier in the afternoon.
