Great workout, lots of fun places to explore on this rock. Lots of traffic but get there early. Found my own personal lookout spot and even a cave

Not for the inexperienced hiker! Be aware there are several water crossings and be prepared to get boots and more wet! This hike is beautiful and a lot of fun! BTW not sure how all trails comes up with 5.6 miles...we measured 6.5 around the loop!

Love love loved it! Last hike we did before we leave for home. Glad we waited to do it last. Was not difficult at all.

nice little hike to some really pretty falls. It is pretty steep most of the way but the trail is a gravel road for half the way up. For people not in the best shape it may be slow going but worth it.

Great hike! Did it solo a week ago and didn't see any other hikers. Today hiked with a friend, and we saw 13 other hikers. So glad we followed advice from someone else and started from the other side of the parkway. We went up the steep part, rather than down. Much easier on knees, and less tricky to negotiate.

Awesome trail, little traffic and awesome views at the top.

I did this hike today and it was very nice. The view is so beautiful at the end! The hike isn’t too strenuous and I would rate it moderate to hard at the very end. Be careful with yellow jackets (there was a nest), I got stung and ended up with a severe allergic reaction and a rescue team had to come get me. So if you’re allergic, take your pen/meds with you!

My review is from the perspective of an amateur landscape photographer.

There aren't any outstanding landscape compositions on this trail. The summit is an open meadow but its completely surrounded by trees with no views. The lake is just mediocre with no good compositions. There are some nice meadows if you enjoy those.

The best photo op I saw is a possible nice shot of the trees along the trail once the leaves change color. I marked the spot on my trail record.

Bottom line: There's a lot of other good hikes and viewpoints along the Blue Ridge. Spend your time there.

First thing to note is that this is a different trail than looking glass falls which several people seemed confused about. The only water fall is a very small one near the start. The trail is not steep but the 3 miles out is entirely uphill. The view at the top is definitely worth it though!

Wide trail with surprisingly open high meadows. Must climb the tower and feel the cool breeze at the pinnacle! Watch for horse evidence.

Lovely views, lovely hike. The climb is never steep, just steady and moderate. We hiked up for sunset and soaked in our first Eastern sights of the Milky Way along with a hand-full of meteors from the Perseid shower. Other than a few passers-by, we had the place to ourselves.

This was a very short hike with easy well-maintained paths. The waterfall at the end was pretty and fun for kids and dog to play around in. It was a Saturday morning so it was a popular spot for young and old. A little too easy and short for our family’s preference.

Great little hike. We parked in the church parking lot. Up hill all the way until right before the falls, but easy trail. Grandparents and toddlers were making the hike. We took our two miniature Australian Shepherds.

Great workout. Not a scenic “hike”.

Loved the scenic trail and the destination is breathtaking! Hike is very strenuous but worth it in the end!

Easy hike to some gorgeous falls. Most of the trail is double track gravel. The swimming hole is nice and pretty well protected for kids.

Hard work but the view makes it worth it! Lots of water on the trail causing frequent mud puddles.

This trail is fantastic. Easy walk up with a few points of interest and the view at the end is breathtaking. No wonder the trailhead is ALWAYS packed.

Great hike with fantastic views at the top. A very popular trail so expect lots of company and to be parking on the side of the road since the parking lot will most likely be full. The trail is very well maintained. I would describe it as a moderate hike since all of the switchbacks make the ascent very managable.

About a 5.25 mike hike from the Moses Cone parking lot. The hike was beautiful but not too difficult, the path is well maintained and wide. We took our dog as well as our infant with us with no problem, the biggest plus was that the tower at the end of the trail is still in use (not closed).

Easy hike, only one section that's slightly steep is probably why this is rated as moderate. Lots of families on this hike, small wading pool at the base of the falls.

Very nice trail for a great view at the top.
Would say it’s more of a moderate trail than hard.
Would recommend proper hiking shoes due to exposed roots, noticed some people having footing issues with running/gym shoes. I would do the trail again .

Great hike! Gradual uphill all the way up with pretty foliage. Just a pretty and enjoyable trail. I would say it’s more on the moderate side than difficult. Heavily trafficked with lots of dogs too — but it is a Saturday in summer. Went early (started around 9:30) and it wasn’t too bad traffic wise on the way up. The view is definitely worth it with a nice, mostly easy trek down. Would definitely do this one again.

Same as with Boone Fork, I can’t believe this is rated hard. I’d definitely put it on the moderate to easy side. The hardest part is the descent at the end. We got caught in a small rainstorm, and the ground was pretty slick coming down. Great little trail.

Be careful trying to take the shortcuts coming down. We ended up following a game trail that dumped us almost 4 miles down the parkway.

Very nice hike and it’s well worth the energy

A good workout and mostly uphill.

We were looking for a toddler friendly trail. The wildflowers and wildlife made it beautiful and the gravel made it easy.
