Amazing views! Crampons and poles are a must as it was pretty icy still.

A good shoulder season hike. Icers were helpful for the descent. Mud will be an issue if and when the weather warms up.

We just went there today. I know its snowy today yet it wasn’t that cold. It was icy, going down was hard. We had spike shoes on and poles but ice and mud and falling snow wasn’t helping. We are going back again on summer!

We went up April 7th! It was a grunt getting up and muddy by the main road but the skies were clear (despite the snowfall warning) and we were lucky enough to not get hit by the wind at the top so enjoyed our lunch up there! Slid the steep parts on the way down (we forgot our poles). Fantastic hike and a beautiful day! Microspikes are a must (we both slid with ours) and poles would have been nice.

The girlfriend and I snowshoed this trail and found it to be very enjoyable. The trail up until Rawson Lake was heavily packed and easy to follow. However at the lake the trail disappeared completely and it looked like everyone hit the lake and turned back. We tried to continue on but, with so much snow fall, breaking fresh trail became tiring after another kilometer so we settled for reaching the far side of the lake, had lunch, and trekked back out. Good trail, only saw one other couple. We plan on going in the summer.

Climb was more intense than prepared for . Muddy at first then snow. steep all the way would recommend poles and spiked shoes . Grueling climb brilliant slide back down. The top was worth the suffering

Very nice trail. The only problem that the last part of the road to the trail was unpaved. However, it was an easy one and once you reach the lake, you can enjoy the view. We went on the fall so we could not enjoy the flowers so that I hope I can go again in the summer

Had a lovely hike snowshoeing, this took 3 hours with a few breaks and a short break for lunch.
Beautiful views 360.

Up and down yesterday. Trail is in great condition, and is very beautiful! Should have brought poles and running spikes.

Good trail. Great view. Hard uphill battle there, but well travelled and safe. Microspikes a must in the winter. Poles would have been a good idea.

A very nice trail , it has step sections but is very manageable, also very. yay as the weather was nice. The view at the trail end is breath taking !

Beautiful!!! But quite hard considering I’m out of shape & it’s up up up the whole way to the lake!!!! Worth it though!!!!

Very steep at the beginning but very easy after about the first 2/3. The snow covered lake is in a beautiful bowl of peaks! Can’t wait to get back in summer!

This was a beautiful trail!! The trail offers some outstanding views once making it past the steep inclines. Most of the hike is in tree covering, but once you make it to the opening it is a worthy hike!! Our snowshoes worked out great and we wore minimal layers as we heated up quickly during climbing. I’d advise bringing additional layers for the opening as the winds tend to pick up past the tree line.
- great trail signage
- moderate/medium level difficulty during winter
- spectacular views
- easy access in and out of trail

We did most of this trail - stopped early to head home - but definitely worth doing. Steep at the beginning but flat and easy going for the rest of the way. Good for snowshoeing but the hikers we had with us had a bit of trouble on the hill. Great snow and good views!

Great trail. Definitely push yourself to the top of the lake

We did a partial snowshoe/hike of this one today with some friends. Great views and lots of snow. A bit steep at the beginning without snowshoes and for longer than we thought; but very flat and enjoyable later on.

This was my first hike and we did it on a warm day in late September. Was proud we made it up in 90 minutes until a man probably in his 60’s ran up behind us at the summit and said he did it in 41 minutes!!

Loved it. Gorgeous views. Quick hike and Not too strenuous. Great workout and Fairly well trafficked in the winter. Loved the flag at the top.

So much snow and a great trail

An excellent training hike close to Calgary. We try to do it 3 times a month or more all year round if we are training for expeditions. Not sure why it is listed as a scramble, though. No scrambling involved. Well defined trail. Excellent views. Definitely take microspikes in fall, winter and spring.

So much snow. Fantastic as always.

The hills at the beginning of the hike are hard work, but if you push past them it'll be worth it for the amazing mountain views that follow :)

Beautiful hike but decently hard, especially in the winter!

Good hike up, some steep parts for my beginner legs. Way down was quick.

nice scenery and outstanding view at the top

Always a favourite! Hiked this for sunrise on Jan 9/18 and the trail was nicely packed down & easy to follow in the dark! I had micro spikes and poles, as some sections were icy.

I hiked to this site during summer seasons; the view in the winter is spectacular! Much easier and faster to come down (as the snow always play cushion if one falls). I loved it and first hike for 2018 (Jan 1st).
