Always a good hike at this spot!

WAY too crowded. Too many people. Dog crap everywhere and no one picks it up. Trash and crap graffiti. People on the trail don’t have etiquette and will block the whole trail and go slow. Won’t allow others to pass. Waterfall is unimpressive.

October 22: Solo’d to the waterfall and only one wrong turn.

Nice well marked trail with good scenery. The return hike is just about all uphill. It was pretty hard, but well worth the trip.

Great trail & views! Kind of a bootie kicker which I love! As an Arizona native its still one of my favs ✌

This hike is not moderate, but a fun challenge with amazing views at the top. There is a lot of boulder scrambling so gloves are recommended. Not recommended for anyone with knee problems. Not long, but very steep and takes concentration on the way down to find your footing.

Good Socal hike with great views of the mountains.

Easy hike
Beautiful falls

Fun, Challenging and the view at the top makes it worth it

Absolutely amazing. Busy trail in the summer.

Walked it many times. Some ups but great.

beautiful place! loved it and my hiking team loved the challenge.

Best hike ever!!! We hiked it with all 4 of our kids ages10,7,5 and 3 (husband carried the 3yr old) we loved it!! It was early July so the end of the trail was closed due to snow. But still highly recommended!! Take water as it really warms up on the way back!

Great hike leaving from Old Rag parking lot. The way up is strenuous but fun. I did the bouldering/scrambling prior to sunrise and enjoyed the views with limited people from summit. The way down is easy but a bit lacking once you hit the fire road. I cannot even begin to describe the number of people heading in as I made my way back to parking lot from the fire road. Leave early because it is way too crowded. (Done on a Saturday morning. Started at 4:45am)

Amazing like always

Perfect hike on a fall day. Never boring and the rock scramble really breaks things up. I like that you get the difficult part over with first and then end with a lovely 2.5 mile stroll down the fire road. Highly Recommend this hike.

Super nice hike. Done it dozens of times and never gets old. A bit crowded on nice days so go off season if you can.

An incredible hike for experienced hikers, upper body strength is important throughout the rock scramble. You won’t find a better view in Virginia! Well worth the strenuous work. It states a 8.6ml hike. From the parking lot and back it’s actually 10.44, bring plenty of water and wear good hiking shoes!

We hiked this on 10/17 and good golly was it beautiful! The park service closed the last 1.5 up to Upper Grinnell Lake due to bear activity, which was a bummer. We didn't see any four legged animals the whole hike and were the only humans on the trail. The highlight was definitely lunch on the dock at Josephine lake.

This is a relatively easy hike but, as other reviewers have mentioned, it's very crowded on the weekends

Very challenging, beautiful hike. Definitely wear pants, hiking shoes, and I was really glad I wore gloves.

nice hike close to town. beautiful views.

Long challenging but beautiful trail. Start early to avoid the crowds and it’ll be worth it

Fun, challenging and endless views with mild weather yesterday. My first time hiking Camelback. Take plenty of water.

Maybe because my expectations weren't high but I ended up loving this trail. It has a beautiful natural bridge, waterfall and cave. Would return in a heartbeat.

We went on a clear and sunny Friday morning after it had rained all night. We arrived at the parking lot around 7:30 am, but didn't start hiking until 8:30. This was intentional -- we wanted to get to the parking lot early enough to snag a spot and then take our time to eat breakfast and take advantage of the porta potties Don't underestimate the length and difficulty of this hike! It took us 6 hours to complete with several small breaks throughout.

The highlight of this hike is definitely the rock scrambling portion. Wear sturdy shoes with good grips and long pants if you can! There were plenty of times when I had to slide down a boulder or use my butt and knees to support myself, hah.

Next time we will probably take longer breaks and definitely bring more water.

Loved this hike! Fall weather is perfect for this trail because I hardly sweated at all (even though the hike is long)! Super beautiful views from so many spots and everyone is really friendly. No pets are allowed for a good reason (some parts are very challenging climbs)!

It’s horrible here on the weekend... Lots of trash, dog poop, people making out and people smoking! Never on the weekend again!
