Picturesque hike! Wow.

During snowy conditions, Yaktrax shoe chains are definitely worth it, as it gets pretty icy! You can by them for ~ $25 in the shop in Curry Village.

This was a great trail would definitely recommend it.

I’ve done this hike without snow & ice & its totally different. Still a great hike, but icy/snowy & slippery in spots. Especially past the base of Vernal Falls. See pics :)

Nice trail even in winter. Yosemite in March is awesome.

Wonderful long hiking loop. Option to follow paved bike path or hiking trail. Hiking trail in early March 2018 still had lots of snow in some parts but bike path was cleared (some areas need to take the road, but little traffic and most areas have paved bike path.) Hiking trail is uneven in parts with some climbing. Fine for most but not wheel accessible.

LOVE it!! Go early in the morning though.

Oh my goodness. This was my first trail at Yosemite and it was incredible. You can’t beat the view from the top of Nevada Falls. Definitely recommend this hike! Just make sure you pack plenty of water!

This is the most amazing trail. You get to hike right next to the water fall, which is beautiful, but prepared to get VERY wet! The steps going up the waterfall are very slippery, so you need shoes with good traction. Also, I would call this trail difficult rather than moderate. Many people were turning back half way up. Definitely worth it though!!

Amazing, high elevation so you need to be prepared and be in shape for this trail. Wear appropriate hiking shoes! I’ve seen people in flip flops and sneakers and they did not make it on the last leg of the trail.

Sunday Feb 11, 2018. Awesome hike with many tourists in street shoes.for a couple mile hike was unexpected ...

waterfalls running strong and the descriptions of steep grade with many steep steps is 200% accurate. One tricky part is walking alone rock face holding on for dear life with a 2ft wide walkway. Be ready for changing weather.

Great trail! We went in February and the weather was great. It was a difficult hike for me with the uphill climb but completely worth it!

Great hike did it with my two kids 6 and 3 it’s a killer hike but the water is freezing bring a good rain parka !!

Great trail the stairs can be tricky with people going up and down at the same time on the same tiny slippery stairs..

the stairs really does kick your butt, but the view is worth it!

The stairs will kick your butt... bring snacks and layers!!

This trail is lots of fun but be ready for tons of stairs! Tons is an understatement.. regardless the views are amazing and it is well worth it!!

Love this trail and I’ve hiked it twice already.

A must do hike!!!!

one of the best view of waterfalls. The sight from the vernal falls was so beautiful that we didn go further for the nevada falls.

This is a beautiful hike that is worth the crowds and effort up the steep cliffs. The mist from the falls will cool you off in the summertime.

Beautiful hike! The falls are amazing. It's a bit steep but worth it. Go early it can get crowded

Was a great hike and would definitely do it again. Dropped down to 4 stars because of trail closures (had to do an out and back and couldn't come back on John Muir Trail), low water flow this time of year, and because of facility issues. The only restroom open (near the trail head, all others on the route were closed) was a mess... urinal literally overflowing.

Great hike. Definitely moderate. There are some decent stairs to climb and if you want a workout—run up the stairs!!! The loop around is beautiful and I highly recommend it!!! Take some water and light snacks!

The best secret in the park shhhh

Great views, beautiful hike. If you go all the way to the top of Nevada Falls, I'm not sure it's rated as a "moderate" hike as it says here.... Yosemite Park rates a notch higher as "Strenuous". Lotttttssss of granite stone stairs to the top. And you gain 1900 ft in 2.5 miles. Most people stopped at Vernal Falls, but definitely worth it to keep going to the view at the top of Nevada Falls.

Amazing Trail 15/10 would do this again!!!
Make sure to bring water and food, and depending on how you approach the trail you could possibly be doing 9-10 miles like we did. However, this trail was absolutely beautiful, if you can, do this trail.

Great hike. Amazing views, especially in winter. I know most people recommend going in spring to see the waterfall in full swing - but, for me there is nothing more beautiful and serene than an ice cold, glacial scenery. The trail is well maintained and relatively easy to follow - however, i would definitely not rate is as moderate. Yes, it’s easy to follow and paved most of the way, but the stairs up and down and very strenuous elevation gain will exhaust even the veterans.

It’s definitely worth it though and would recommend it to anyone!
