For a beginner like me; this was a great hike with amazing views!

Good views of the city. No shade after the first climb.

Great for kids and the whole fam.

Muy bueno para empezar senderismo

Very steep uphill and compensated by also being very steep downhill. Not much shade either. The mine is cool but there are better trails to get there and back. We have hiked a lot of better trails in Park City.

Pretty diverse hiking. part of it was on an open, rocky trail, but lots of side trails to venture off to. Saw a neat old abandoned mine along the way, a beautiful grove of aspens, and a forest of firs. Used GPS tracker a lot-no trails markers.

Hiked this trail two days ago, very easy with a pretty view at one point.

Stick to the south trail. Follows a stream the entire way. There are some trout if you fish the deeper pools. At 1.2 miles there is a fun swing attached to a tree about 20 feet high. Lots of fun for kids. The next 1.5 miles is gorgeous with a waterfall around the 3 mile mark. One of my favorite trails around

I did this trail on Mother’s Day 2018. It was my first hike of the season and first hike since I was a teenager.

It was nice. The trail was kind of worn out as you approached the saddle. Overall a nice hike that got me hooked!

I've been hiking this trail for years and i love it.

My favorite so far! Very nice!

I stopped doing keto and began using carbs again and the hike was way easier for me (I had a hard time on the horse flat which was rated as easy).
More for hiking rather than sightseeing/hiking.
Should actually take the "views" tag out of the details.
Mostly incline and very rocky.
If you roll your ankles a lot you should buy good hiking shoes/boots or watch where you step.
Going up took an hour and a half and around 45 minutes to get back down.

Easy to hike, some nice views of the beautiful area, but nothing particularly unique on the landscape beyond the abandoned mine building.

I love coming to Millcreek canyon. It is so beautiful. I've done this trail a few times. Great for trail running but it is novice so it gets busy. lots of mountain bikers on this trail.

Beautiful! A great way to start your morning. We started trail at 7am and returned by 10am. We came across 7 mountain bikers and only a few hikers. Pleasant.

This trail has been taken over by motorcycles and, particularly on the backside, is terribly worn down. It is not a peaceful hike as it is a very constant, steep descent punctuated by motorcycle traffic.

If you start from the dam and hike to the top, it is more peaceful though we were passed by a group of 3 motorcycles. It was a steady ascent but not uncomfortable uncomfortable.

Great hike if you’re looking for a workout!

Tip for parking: there is a dirt lot on your left when you’re driving out of park city towards guardsman pass, this is most likely the most convenient lot and it’s also free.

The first half of the trail is essentially going up very steadily with no flat ground breaks. Keep your app open so you can follow the map. There aren’t any trail markers.

Once you complete the uphill portion you can explore the old mine buildings which have historical plaques. Once you’re up you can hike around the park city ski runs and get some stunning views of the park city valley.

When you’re ready to go down make sure that you follow the ski runs that say town lift or your map. Once again, this is all downhill and quite steep at parts. Hiking shoes/boots with good tread and support are essential to enjoying this hike.

Great trail- narrow in spots- watch for mountain bikers who are coming down- most are careful but i have had some close calls in narrow bends with mnt bikers- yesterday was almost hit by one who came around a blind curve speeding down the trail- they should consider a bell

Awesome trail. It’s gorgeous, plenty of water and waterfalls, there are fire pits all along the trail and a nice big waterfall near the end. If you go far enough as well there is a fun swing. Definitely a fun weekend hike.

Very boring not much to see as views

Great trail with some nice views! The best thing about this trail is the close proximity to Provo. The rock formations are always intriguing. Enjoy the climb!

Good moderate hike, beautiful waterfall and fun swing! I didn’t see the waterfall on the way up the canyon, but found it by accident on the way down. To find it, as you head up the canyon, you’ll notice a steep drop in the trail after you’ve been steadily climbing for some time. The trail naturally veers to the left. If you go right and head down about 20 yards, you’ll find it. Then turn back around and finish the trail where there’s a swing, a bench and a fire pit.

Once you reach the top it is amazing.

great for beginner/intermediate mtb. quick short and easy trails for after work

With all of the hiking choices in Millcreek Canyon, I am not in a big hurry to do this one again. I was just out for some exercise this morning, so I hiked an hour up the trail. The first 8/10ths of a mile is a very steady climb, but then it levels off. After the climb, the portion that I hiked did not have much shade, and it was close enough to the Boy Scout camp that I could hear their music and cheers. When I try this trail again, I will start from the upper trailhead to see if I can find a more peaceful setting.

Definitely a lot of uphill especially the first 2 miles but overall a good trail run!!

This is a nice trail for running. Once you make your initial climb, you get some good straight shots. We hike from the church fork picnic area and come out at the big pipe with a great view of the valley. You can start climbing again from there or call it a day.

The views are great, but it was hot out there! The terrain was a little rocky, which was murder on my ankles. Otherwise, it was a nice little hike. It may not be the best for small dogs, as mine got worn out.

This was a beautiful trail. We had 5 kids ages 5-10 and our dog with us, they all handled it beautifully. Everyone wanted lots of water on the way up. The trail is nicely shaded the majority of the time. Cons: the amount of dog poop on this trail is ridiculous, why the heck can’t people just pick up their dog’s poop?! Pretty soon dogs won’t be allowed in such beautiful places. Not cool.

Beautiful trail. Lots of shade after the early part of the hike. Many wildflowers. Had to watch carefully for motorcyclists. Breathtaking views.
