The trail is nice, but be prepared for some slushy, muddy parts. It is very easy and absolutely gorgeous!

Easy hike worth your time.

I did this hike yesterday (11/11) and the trail was snow covered. It was very pretty with all the snow. We didn’t do the entire trail but enjoyed the portion we did do. I did it fine with nice snow boots but it was a little slippery at times. My friend had crampons on her shoes and they seemed to work well. Snow shoes would have been overkill

Beautiful but busy, go early

I am a big fan of this hike. However some do not like it because of the lack of trees due to a fire many years ago. I like the surreal landscape and the long views of Mount Evans and Pikes Peak. The Chair Rocks at the end are a great place to have lunch with awesome views and a unique surrounding. While a bit ling, there are no steep inclines on this hike. This hike also stays pretty quiet. We only saw two bikers the entire hike. Keep in mind that because of the lack of trees you are exposed throughout most of the hike so be prepared for whatever the weather.

There is very minimal snow on the sides of the trail and some of the standing water is starting to ice over, but no issues for walking through the trails. This hike met my craving for getting out and about, but the trails are definitely on the east side. It’s more like a walk that a hike that gets your heart pumping. Similar to other reviews, it is easy to take another unintended path and end up back at your car sooner than expected. I did enjoy the views of the mountains and overlooking evergreen high school. Overall the hike was enjoyable, but I probably wouldn’t do it again.

Initially intended to do the entire loop but accidentally cut across halfway thru and didn’t want to back track (again). Beautiful scenery, and it’s best to get there early. Heavier traffic begins around 9am. Overall, highly recommend!

Nice, easy trail that has amazing views of rock formations. It would be a great trail for snow shoeing this winter.

Really awesome trail that has a waterfall and many connecting trails BUT, as simple and short as it is you can get lost pretty easy so be careful. Saw one snake but not too crazy of wildlife beyond that. CLImBerS will love this place as it has many tie off points for ropes or you can free climb and boulder a bit. Descent amount of people but everyone was pretty chill and it was a good vibe all around

Trail was great for a nice afternoon stroll. Just enough to get the blood pumping. Not much of a waterfall right now; but hoping to do it in the spring again.

Great groomed trail and wonderful views

Beautiful views and well maintained dirt path. We hiked today but this would also be a great mountain bike ride. Bonus, bathrooms available at the trailhead and they were super clean. 320 ft climb made this an enjoyable workout.

Nice little hike. I would call this easy rather than moderate. A couple of sections to get your lungs working, but easy otherwise. Lots of people and pets around 11:00, but until then, we virtually had the place to ourselves, even on a Saturday. Not too far from town, so definitely one I'd do again!

Hiked it today with our dog starting from the Applewood side. Street parking only so we parked a couple blocks down from the east trailhead. Good rocky incline that's not too difficult then everything flattens out on top of the mesa. Wide open trail up top, nice and easy hike.

Nice peaceful place for an easy stroll. Beautiful rocks, shame there is no climbing - they’re still nice to look at. Lots of people there taking professional photos for the gorgeous backdrop.

I tend to enjoy hikes a bit more when there is water involved. This is definitely a fun hike and amazing once you get to the falls! I must say I am guilty for packing a nice snack and enjoying it by the water!

Really great hike!

Great for sightly more difficult family hikes.

Great little hike! You can make it shorter (3.5 mile loop) by going north on the trail and then using the Mesa Trail trail to cut off some distance. It's heavily trafficked by bikers though, which is hard for hikers.

Love this trail! Lots of mountain bikers so be prepared to take a quick stop on the side of the trail if you are on foot. Beautiful views!

Really unique rock formations. Coyote song is an easy trail, some inclines but nothing crazy. If you take the Lyons Back trail towards columbine trail it gets pretty steep. You can also go off path a lil and climb up to the ridge. Views were awesome, would not recommend the ridge climb to kids or anyone unsure of physical ability. Def go again, quick drive from Denver.

Did this hike yesterday in the middle of a snow shower, and it was really nice! Like others, we missed the turnoff for the falls, but found it after finding the sign on our way back down. Apparently, we hiked nearly 1/2 a mile past it. My phone was acting up, so I wasn't able to add a waypoint to the map.

That being said, this is a really nice hike. It would be great for out-of-towners, since the elevation gain is very managable. I don't know if it was the weather, or that it was Wednesday, but we ran into more bags of dog poop than people. Seriously folks, clean up after yourselves!

I missed a turn and went up a draw on the far SW end and it was way too steep and technical for me to pedal. Had to take the bike for a walk for a while. Better navigation next time!

Weather was great for hiking and not too many people on the trail (it was a weekday after all). Trail is pretty dusty and I can see this getting muddy after some rainfall. Really wasn't much too see as there are not any viewpoints and you're walking through dense forest. We missed the sign that points to the falls 100 yards away. It was kind of easy to miss as it doesn't really face the trail very well. There were at least two other groups that had missed it also and we were all looking for it. After finding the falls, it was disappointing to see the dismal trickle of water coming down the rocks. I'd hardly classify it as "falls". All in all, it was an ok hike.

I went her at the recommendation of my local bike shop and I had a great time. Was just by myself but decided to not look at the trail map and just go where I thought looked more interesting. Ended up staying and going up and down again and again for almost four hours. Next time I will have to bring my climbing shoes though as I found some nice bouldering spots just off the trails. Was fairly crowded and a fairly easy but pleasant downhill ride. The times I was going uphill wasn’t bad and I would say with some of the rocks and logs in the trail could be considered a medium.

Okay first of all it seems to me that some of the other reviewers don’t exactly understand the point of this little trail area. Yes you can ride down the easy way and in my opinion it is still fun although very simple for anybody who has been mountain biking more than a couple times. The real reason for this trail (or at least the way I use it) is training for the uphill battle you have to go through during most mountain bike rides before getting to the good part... the downhill. If you use this place properly and essentially treat it as an exercise trail and ride up the obstacle instead of down it is a great workout and a good way to get some practice on the more challenging aspect of mountain biking. As some people have said it is rather noisy being close to the highway which is forgivable with it being a short drive from my house and also with the sun blazing it can get very warm. This area is blasted by the sun just about all day long.

Beautiful hike! The colors were so pretty with a few aspens interspersed in the ponderosa. Keep your eyes out for the sign down to Maxwell falls off the trail - it can be easy to miss depending on which way you come up. You have to walk ~100m upstream to see the main falls. Also, please pick up your dog poop bags! We saw at least 6 bags at the trailside.

Nice and relatively easy, with great views and dog accessible.

Love this place! My husband takes our 5 year old mountain biking while myself and the 1 year old hike up to the tabletop. It’s decently trafficked. I’ve never had some of the issues others have said about not enough room for bikers/hikers, but we also go in the afternoon. It does get toasty, bring plenty of water and a snack. The views are worth the leg burn!

Not much scenery as it’s in a valley. Barely any changing of the leaves so not recommend right now if that’s your goal. Lots of uphill and rocky. Great cardio. Never made it to the falls. Heavily trafficked...
