Short hike. Beautiful weather.Seen more people on the trail. Which is good.

Not well marked at all. Much of this area is overgrown, and what you think is the trail is not. It would be a great place to hike if it were taken care of.

This is a very well maintained and well trafficked trail. Nicely paved, well marked trails. It is a great trail for 1/2 marathon training, slight inclines and declines with level road in between. I will definitely be coming back!

Well marked and maintained trails. Multiple trails to choose from based on your experience. The green trails are easy enough for any beginner, and the blue and black trails are fun and challenging.

biked this trail to the 6 mi mark and it is BEAUTIFUL. Can't wait to go back. Rented bikes at the shop across the street from the start of the trail. Great place to rent and they were really helpful. We are two over 65 y/o and did well considering neither of us had been on a bicycle in 40 years. Can't wait to go back.

Nice walk - no shade. Beautiful view of front range. Keep dogs on leash- they do fine you if you don’t.

I’m a bit of novice, but couldn’t find a single blaze. Motorcycles everywhere. I was following the “trail” map on the app but still just ended up walking in the general direction. Good elevation changes and terrain for training but not a trail I’ll do again

Awesome.

Surprised to find this little gem in Florida. Can be technical at times. Loved the rides.

It was fun...until we got lost. The maps aren’t worth a crap and somehow we ended up on the horse trail. Plenty of bugs to go around. I was miserable by the time we got back but BOY did we get a work out. Very adventurous and a good place to unwind in nature if you’re good at navigating with crappy maps.

Best mountain biking you can find in FL. Variety of single tracks for any skill levels all the way to double Black trails.

great place to hike and bike. one of my favorite places to go.

Awesome trails! Just gotta make sure e you stay on trail. Watch for the colored tees to make sure you’re on trail and you’ll be fine!!! One of my favs for sure!

Deer and a bunch of turkey on this trail. Lots of additional loops to make it short or long. Pretty easy there is some soft sand to trek threw.

Nice easy trail with several different paths to choose from. Camping is available with a reservation.

My favorite mtn bike trail around, especially because you can find yourself doing a series of trails, and choose to either start and finish each at the trailhead, or do one loooong trail hike.

I like the trailhead w new restrooms, covered picnic tables and bike wash. This allows me to take a break and relax a bit before tackling the next trail.

Nice trail, well groom ask for a map in the welcome entrance to see all the off road trails. Number 10 was close when we went for Memorial Weekend.
The majority of the trails are easy to moderate. I recommend to go with a buddy some of the puddles can be kind of deep.

Beautiful day. There were other people hiking, which is always nice. I took to Florida trail for the most part; it’s super Well marked. I did walk on the bunny trail which is part of a bike trail does pretty good too. There are bugs. But no mosquitoes. And spiderwebs

Hiked A tract and enjoyed the hilly terrain.
We saw a large rattle snake lying across the trail but it had no interest in us and quickly left. I saw the hikers' peace sign made of pinecones; fellow hikers and I added a pinecone of our own. I would like to go back and hike the other trails at Croom.

Call or visit the website for the hours. It’s summer and they’re open till 730. Which is nice. They’re actually no bugs right now. I did the phosphate mine trail twice and it is steep. Keep a lookout on the red signs on the trees. I took a couple wrong turns but got back on the path. The River Loop, Trail was interesting but I never could stay on the red trail at one point I was on the bike trail I’m pretty sure. It was interesting there is over a dozen car is in the parking lot. But I never saw anyone on the trail except for one other person and that was another walker with the dog I wonder where they all were On the phosphate mine trail you’ll really enjoy all of the Firemans or simply marvelous.

Alafia River State Park is absolutely beautiful. the Old Agrico hiking trail is exactly the type of trail I've been looking for in Florida, there's a lot of hills due it's history of being an old phosphate mine. The only thing I'd advise, is if you're there only to hike, ask for a map of the bike trails also. The trails for the bikers aren't labeled that well, and if you find yourself lost in a slew of them, your hiking trail map isn't going to help you much. Very wonderful park. I'll definitely be back soon.

Great trail with well marked trails. Did the B loop which is about 9 miles starting at the Tucker Hill Trailhead. $2 to access park. I would rate this easy to moderate. The trail has a few roots and some dampness here and there but overall a pretty easy hike with some elevation (150 ft.) which is a lot for Florida. Very little traffic and the ability to customize your hike as you go. Enjoy!

There are some hills. Don’t let it being in Florida assume its flat. Beautiful and lots of variety of scenery.

Awesome trails!!! Loved it!!!

Good trail. one of my favorite!

wonderful paved multi use trail!

Close to home and dog loves it

This review is more for the Upper Hillsborough Preserve Upper Hillsborough Tract with entrances near both the Zephyrhills Airport and also one on the other end of SR 54.

While this isn't exactly the AT, this is a hiking trail without bikers. End to end the length is about 8 miles.
Coming from the south, I typically stop about two miles short of the north entrance.

I do this for two reasons: 1. There is a very difficult elevated train track to scale to continue the hike. There are very large and for a big guy like me, hazardous rocks that make it very precarious to scale.

The second reason I usually don't complete the hike is that the northern end has a heavy boar population, and they have rooted up the trail.

A couple of other considerations:

1. Folks sky dive and fly light airplanes over head from the ZH Airport across the street. You can hear the folks soar above (even without an engine sound).
2. They allow hunting on this property, and it is a very popular hunting spot. Which is understandable considering the boar population. The down side is the hunting season is in the cooler time of the year. Just when I have put up with the high heat of the summer and expect to enjoy the cooler temperatures, the area is a veritable shooting gallery.
