Great easy hike. I only did 5 miles but it was pleasant and the paved trail is well maintained and wide. Great way to spend time out doors.

Good walk and run spot, but best for biking.

Very nice trail with a lot of variations. It is technical if you are on a moutain bike like I was but surely a nice ling hike !
You have to make it to inspiration point !
The only negative point is the lack if map or indication on the trail.
I did not do the Switchback part of the trail.

Nice place to run or bike on trail right in the middle of Okc

Fantastic trail!!!! Your surroundings are beautiful with several great views of the lakes. We spent 3 hours walking the trails with our dog. There was a little waterfall and rocks and trees and cactus. My only regret is we forgot the fishing poles. Maybe next time. Don’t go when it’s hot. We went on a cool day and ended up taking off our jackets. There are plenty of hills to climb and streams to walk. We had a wonderful time. Will definitely go again.

Farm road or never taken care of path. Had to chase away a turkey which was awesome.

But all and all wasn’t that good

Great for biking/walking

Love this trail and close to home!

Pretty awesome trails, a little hard to follow on which one your on, they need updated trail maps onsite

I love this trail I have been hiking it to get my trail legs for a up coming thru hike of the Superior hiking trail in Minnesota

A wonderful park in close proximity to the city for spending the day with your spouse. While not much spring scenery was in effect, the park was well maintained and heavily used.

I’ve been coming to this park for years now, it’s beautiful, and there’s (mostly) no cell service, so if you want to be away from the world for a while, this is the place to go. Plus, it has amazing views.

Great for mountain bikers probably the best off-road biking and hiking trail

Love this trail! I recommend going early in the spring because the ticks and chiggers are AWFUL out here during the hot summer months. These trails can be mixed and matched for different lengths depending on what you’re wanting. But have a map with you because it’s very easy to turn a 3 mile hike into a MUCH longer hike with one wrong turn. Watch out for mountain bikers! They have the right of way. There are lots of sandy areas along the trails so wear proper shoes or it’ll be like you came back from the beach.

Best trail in central Oklahoma it makes you feel like your by the the sea side with a harbor filled with friendly people and good restaurants what they need to do is put hotels by the lake.

Will probably not go back again. Lots of litter...
I did not feel safe going this alone...

Had a great time with my son on this overnight trip.
We started at about 1:30p, done by 5p next day...we felt we pushed pretty hard.
As suggested by a fellow reviewer, we did the trail counter-clockwise, glad we did. Got the hardest done first.
Be prepared to go up the side of a mountain, than back down, many times.
(basically a chain of smaller mountains)
This was my first hike of a constant 18 and camping on the trail. I suggest 2 nights if you can. More time to enjoy the scenery and not have to push so hard to get done.
P.S. - call first during hunting seasons.

Great for a good morning hike. Trails maintained nicely.

This is a fun trail but the north loop is pretty much not even a trail. It is very well marked though. Be prepared to crawl over a bunch of downed trees or walk around if possible. Overall I had a good time. Very secluded on the north loop.

This is actually several small trails that connect to form one mega trail. The smaller trails are less than a mile each. I did the archaeology and kid-friendly trails which totaled one mile; both were paved. Great views which included native grasslands, river, and lake. As a reminder- it is a felony to remove artifacts from federal and state lands!

Nice trail. Tracked the bike loop on foot as 3.75 miles on my garmin.

Very windy today, but better once you get into the trees. Nice forest section. Saw no one else hiking or biking while we were there, but it was a weekday.

Rode the red loop close to sunset, and got lost for a few extra miles on some easier loops. Trails look to be in good shape, but sunlight is a must for the red trail..

Loved it! It seems part of the path is closed though so I went up to inspiration point and back down. I would definitely do this hike again.

The trail is not very visible at all and towards the end I mostly just walked the service round on the edge of the forest.

Really Enjoyed the views and the hike, however this map cannot be completed. The trail is cut off and a sign says no public access pass a certain point. So we just turned around and continued to explore. The trails are not well marked. Once you get it figured it out it was nice. You go from by the lake to the woods to up on the top in the open. It was really enjoyable.

Running at the lake can be one of the best or worse places depending on the wind. If it’s remotely windy you will feel it all at the lake. I’ve ran around this lake 3-4 times a week for the last decade and it’s a nice place to exercise, sail, or go to a restaurant. I wish it had better restroom facilities, but if you really need better than a porta potty you can go to Louie’s or Lake Hefner Golf club. Lake Hefner connects to Overholser over by MacArthur and Britton and Nichols Hills on Grand on the east side of the lake.

Pretty fun rode all the trails except the hardest. Sad to see so much trash in the creek bed. Saw some deer, took about an hour to ride through all of it.

Great day hike with a surprising variety of terrain for Oklahoma. The trail is well-maintained but the trail signs can be confusing if you didn't bring a map. We downloaded the AllTrails app, which was helpful when we reached forks in the trail that lacked a trail sign. With a couple of breaks for water and pictures, we finished in ~2.5 hours. It could take longer if you lacked a map or decided to explore several of the side trails. I brought my dog and she didn't need my help with any of the elevation gain. Beware: the gypsum rock can be sharp for human hands or doggy paws if you slip while climbing. We went a day or two after a big rain storm so the trail was slightly muddy.
