Spectacular views, wildflowers, very well maintained trails. I backpacked for 3 days and did about 10 miles a day. I parked on Highway 1 across from Kirk Creek campground and backpacked to Vicente flats on night 1. Great, big open camping areas under the redwoods with stone rings for fires. Day two I stayed at Ojito camp. Don’t do it. It sucks. There are several places to camp along the trail that are not on the map that would have been better. As of July 4, there were a few creek crossings where you can get fresh water. Wouldn’t have made it otherwise.

Gorgeous view and fun - surprisingly quiet hike through the woods.

My first hike. I needed a scenic first hike to get the right impression. I forgot about the miles and time. I began taking pic and forgot about taking pics because I was enjoying myself so much. I was living in the moment.

Easy trail. Great for seeing tide pools. Views are spectacular. Lots of wildlife harbor seals, sea lions and cormorants are most plentiful. Restrooms available at the last car park.

Absolutely lovely hike. There are a lot of trails at Point Lobos. We spent about 6 hours on two separate days exploring them. We enjoyed the northern bluff trail the most, but they are all beautiful.

Just a heads up, it costs 10.00 to get into the park and it closes in the early evening.

We hiked this trail on the Fourth of July and were surprised to only see one other hiker the entire day. The trail is in good shape, although it crosses a few active slides in places and you'll want to watch your footing. There is a lot of poison oak along the first mile of the trail, but it's easily avoided. Views from the summit are spectacular! We took an extended break at the old lookout and watched the fog starting to burn off below us, revealing views straight down to the Highway 1 bridge at Limekiln State Park.

Great views of the coast! Super easy walk! Loved it! (Definitely not a hike)

Things that made this a great trip:
1. No cell service without a 30 minute drive (read boss can’t call you)
2. We had a campsite at the beach, with the sounds of both the ocean and a fast flowing creek to sooth us to sleep.
3. It’s near enough to Monterey to get good seafood if you’re willing to drive 90 minutes
4. Lots of scenic lookouts of the beautiful Big Sur coastline
5. You can go from the beach to the California Redwoods within minutes by foot.
6. Not “touristy” unless you head to Monterey, etc...
7. Did I mention no cell service for ANY provider?

This was our first visit, but not our last. My wife has added it to our regular vacation rotation.

Very cool trail, did this several years ago with another family of 4, so we had 4 adults and 4 kids under the age of 7 with the youngest being 3. At the water crossings we had to play pass the baby but it was definitely worth it. The kids and adults alike enjoyed the kilns and the history behind them! Would definitely recommend this trail!

Was extremely beautiful!

Do you like sea lions? Do you like great views? Do you like a little bit of an ocean breeze? If your answer to these questions is yes, then this is the trail for you.

THE BEST TRAIL.

If this trail had a little more upkeep, it would be amazing. A hike to a narrow and high waterfall or a hike to some old large kilns (or b both) are totally worth the risk of an errant piece of rebar or a collapsed trail. Beautiful views of large redwoods and exposed root systems make this dappled light park a must see.

I cant wait to go again.

Agree with previous reviewer; this is more a short walk on a dirt road to the falls than a hike. Most of the trail was closed when I went on it. Fine enough if you're passing through but nothing special to make a specific trip out.

Very nice easy hike to a secluded falls. Lots of opportunities for going beyond the marked trail to more secluded spots.

This isn't really a hike so much as a quick walk from the car to an overlook point. Still awesome! Amazing view and 100% worth it.

Astounding views, steep but reasonably graded; be careful with footing as exposure towards the peak is steep. Cool chance to see rareSanta Lucia firs towards the peak, as well.

So much fun! We just spent 6 1/2 hours at Point Lobos! So much to do besides hike!

Our favorite hike so far in Big Sur

Stunning redwood grove + creeks (and creek crossings) make for a fantastic short hike. Rocks/wood at creek crossings can be quite slippery so be careful! Falls at end of trail pretty but IMO nothing overly special. Signed detour to see the limekilns - was quite interesting - would recommend!

Delivers everything is promises and more! Only problem is that you keep taking breaks to enjoy the view and take pictures.

Only did a portion of the loop but saw so much wildlife! Sea lions, seals, whales, and even the notorious kelp otter. The guides had telescopes for easier viewing at different sites or will trade you binoculars for your car keys so you can get a better view of the wildlife.

Wonderful wildflowers on the ENTIRE loop! Just watch out for the poison oak (which is easy to avoid). On a weekday, the trail was not crowded. Beautiful views, and an interesting flow going from woods to seashore and back to woods again.

Beautiful.

This is one of the best trails I’ve been on. It’s great for family to visit together.

Great hike with awesome views. Note– the last couple miles of driving to the trailhead has some big bumps that made for some close calls in our Audi A4 hatchback. We made it out unscathed, but there were some sketchy moments. There were other non-SUVs up there too, so you wouldn't be alone, and you definitely would come across help after a 15 minutes max should you have a problem.

This was a nice length. We stopped for lunch at the top for 20 mins or so. Roundtrip total with stops for views, food, flowers and lizards, give yourself about 2.5 hours just to be safe!

gorgeous views!
