Hiked this over the summer. It was cool hiking through the forest, but this is definitely one you should start early in the day. My group started this in the afternoon, and it was hot and humid. The top had very little shade, but it offered a cool view point.

Decent outing- wouldn’t be the trail that I recommend. Waterfall section is closed and this could’ve improved experience.
Trail gets really narrow, rocky and moderately steep in some spots. It’s a turn-around so traffic gets tight in these spots. Would not recommend it with kids.
The view at the top is pretty (expansive view of redwoods), but the trail itself wasn’t interesting.

Beautiful landscape at the bottom- next to a creek. Hike (mid-way up) is pretty and serene- very cool (temp), shaded and lush.
When you get to the loop- you can go left or right: left side (uphill) seems to be more at a gradient, while right side (uphill) seems to be a steeper climb.
The view at the top was ok- the hike up was more interesting.

Breathtaking views!

Beautiful views; lots of people.

Went out with the family To begin 2019 with a fresh start, especially with family. We had a wonderful time there were so many places to wander off the trail even though the trail essentially is a loop. It was a pleasure to be able to see it all the humpback whales, as well as the sea lions and otters. We planned the trip by going to Erik deli which happened to stay with us the entire trip, but drink plenty of water. And there are guide for longer true but you also have to be careful to not get so involved with looking ahead because you’ll end up tripping there are many holes and rocks that you could end up falling. However I will say it was one of the best hikes I’ve had in the month of January. I hope you enjoy, And the children will enjoy this as well. There are tons of babies along with strollers all around although I don’t know how they carry them. But if it’s possible you guys enjoy

Gorgeous views but can be steep

Love the views, hiking around the park is a good workout on easy to moderate trails. Go early to beat the crowds and park outside the park and walk in to avoid a parking fee.

So beautiful, went last weekend and it was perfect out.

Wonderful hike

Excellent views. Perfect weather today

Fantastic walk. Good path. Stellar views.

Amazing!!!

Breathtaking view especially at sunset. Of course a must on every drive down Hwy 1!

This is a good short hike, but there is nothing special about it. Fortunately the majority of the trail is shaded. I hiked it an early Friday afternoon in late October and there were not too many people.

Very short. $10 fee for parking if you park in the state park parking lot. And once you get to the walkway a large portion of it is closed off which was disappointing because it would be a much better view of the falls if we could go further out on the walkway/viewpoint. With that being said the portion of the walkway that was closed off did look very decrepit. But you’d think with the hundreds of dollars they make per day on parking alone that they’d fix the walkway of one of the most famous sights on Hwy 1 but I digress.
My suggestions would be to park along the highway to save the $10 (or pay and hope they fix the walkway at some point). I also think you may be able to see the falls from the Hwy just north of the parking lot. We missed it yesterday but are planning on stopping there today. It’s just a small turn out off the road but there were many people stopped there taking pictures back towards the direction of the falls.

Did this hike last Thanksgiving. It is one if so many breathtaking walks along the west coast. Look/listen for sea lions on the rocks below. Amazing patterns in the rock etched by wind and water. Fascinating history.

Trail to the falls was not accessible at this time
