Great short workout/hike. Nice view of the mountains and then the ocean at the top.

Beautiful redwood grove at the end of a semi steep fire road. You’ll see fern and clover grotto, a stream, and end at ocean views and some tide pools left on the dock at low tide. Easy hike.

So beautiful, went last weekend and it was perfect out.

Wonderful hike

One of the best walk/hikes Ive ever done. The end down near the water is so gorgeous.

This is a good short hike, but there is nothing special about it. Fortunately the majority of the trail is shaded. I hiked it an early Friday afternoon in late October and there were not too many people.

Nice walk. A flat smooth trail with lots of shade. Opened up to a beautiful beach which was not overcrowded at all. Nice little hike to end our day with the dogs.

Very easy, smooth, wide, and shaded trail. The poison oak was very red this week. The season must be coming to an end. Oak trees are awesome, and some very large, The beach was covered with drift wood. When the waves were going back into the sea, they were able to move some of the rocks at the waters edge. You could hear the rocks bumping into each other, I have never heard this before and it was really interesting. The parking lock charges ten dollars, to park but I saw a number of cars parked on the side of the road, Wild flowers were still in bloom. Very nine hike.

Trail to the falls was not accessible at this time

Did this hike with two and four year old children. Beautiful beach and gorgeous coastline await you after hiking through a shaded trail.

Loved this easy trail with fun river crossings! I used poles while crossing the rivers and it was a huge help!

Easy walk to a beautiful beach!

Waterfalls path is closed. “Moderate” walk/hike is not worth the “view” at the top. You’ll see the best redwoods at the bottom.

Since my kids were small we come here at least once a year and anytime we are coming through the area. This is a great hike for small kids. It is easy short but offer rock hopping and enough scrambling to make it fun. Climb to the top of the falls if you can!

More easy than moderate. Absolutely beautiful and very shady.

Decent trail with great view at the top. A few benches scattered near the top to sit and appreciate the view.

Overall a good short hike, but nothing that makes it stand out or special. It's close to the highway so you can hear cars entire time, plus the trail itself is heavily trafficked. The views were nice at the top.

My son and I really enjoyed this hike. Loved the three different paths to take you into various parts of the flowing stream. We will be back again.

Good, short workout with beautiful view of mountains and ocean at top. Trail is heavily used and worn with many fellow walkers/runners/hikers even on weekday. Close to CA-1 and civilization so don't get that away-from-it-all feeling.

WE started out on this hike on a Saturday in mid August so it was very crowed with people. I can deal with that but what caused us to abort the hike was the noise from both the highway below and a construction site nearby. The hike itself is nice but there are better options in the area even on the weekend

Awesome hike..

Really beautiful hike. Good workout and nice views at the top!

Paradise by the seashore. One of the most picturesque beach hikes I’ve ever done. Partington Canyon and cove was named for the Pioneer family who settled in the area in 1874. A moderate hike down to the cove through a short mountain tunnel and you find yourself in a late 19th Century “dog cove” where supplies were shipped and off loaded from the sea. There’s a comfy bench to take in the stunning views. You can still see the remnants of the wood and steel apparatus used to off-load supplies. If you take the other path (to the right) you will arrive at a beautiful rocky shore. We sat and watched sea otters frolicking in the water before us. Could have spent a whole day in this area. It’s not a long hike but the view is invigorating and inspiring. Not to be missed.

This is a very scenic short trail system suitable for anyone who is reasonably fit. The trail requires scrambling over and under logs in a few places and crosses a steam multiple times with makeshift log and stone crossing points. We went at end of July and water was low enough that you could cross without getting feet wet. The trail is through second growth redwood forest and is shaded and very cool the entire time. Great for a break on a hot day. The waterfall is worth seeing, though not spectacular. The abandoned lime kiln is cool. Our three children 12, 14, and 22 enjoyed it and our eldest did a ton of off trail scrambling on the rocks and fallen logs. Trailhead is at the far end of camping area, walk past everyone, there are a small number of day use parking spaces for $10 fee. If it’s full there is parking on side of road above. At the opposite end of camping area there is a small sand beach and rocky area where the creek empties into the ocean. Cross a wooden bridge and walk under the bridge. That is also super cool and worth a visit. The water is freezing but nice to splash around. Bring trunks and water shoes.
