We recommend getting out as early as possible as we were the only ones on the trail the entire way down and the trail got more crowded on the return. We are novice hikers and had no problems completing in under 2.5 hours with plenty of time for viewing the window and taking pictures along the way. The last mile back to the lodge is the hardest for those that are less experienced.

We thoroughly enjoyed this hike. It’s almost all downhill for the first 1.5-2mi down into the valley (which means uphill coming back). Starts at the Chisos mountain campgrounds. Once you get into the canyon at the bottom it is incredible. My partner found the exact spot where the water originates and starts to flow down stream. The rocks were easy to cross and the trail is so very well maintained. The rocks directly near the actual window itself are very slippery however. My recommendation would be to not get cute and try to see how far out into the window you can go before it drops off. We loved this hike and did it on an off day to recover after climbing Emory the day before. Highly highly recommend.

Super easy (I hiked to the hot spring in flip flops). I also didn't see the loop part--I just walked back the same way I got there. The hot springs were awesome. Highly recommend. Definitely pay attention to the road warnings, it is VERY narrow.

Very pretty with a fun reward of a swim! Nice place to meet fellow explorers.

This is a relatively short hike that provides gorgeous views of the canyon. It “ends” at the water. While this hike will be easy for those with strong knees who are active, please note that this hike has some drops and areas where you need to climb up, so it is not advisable for those with knee issues or walking problems.

It got pretty crowded and slippery towards the end, but the views were awesome the entire way

The entire road closes 8 miles before the canyon due to the government shutdown. tuff canyon is open.

Short and pretty trail that was great to stretch out my legs after the Window Trail. Great views of the Rio Grande. The warnings about oversized vehicles to get to the trailhead should be heeded!

Well worth the drive down and the hike. Easy hike; just a bit of a climb, but the views are more than worth it.

Was closed for government shutdown.

This trail is.wonderful very low traffic, it's like you have the whole thing to yourself.

I would Do this one again but probably in the evening. We went up from the campground about 10am. We hiked it in the winter so the sun was not too hot, we had full sun pretty much the entire hike. If you are doing this one in the morning bring your sun block :)

This little hike is great! My son and I climbed to the top in less than an hour and my husband picked us up at the top. We would like to have completed the old CCC trail which joins this trail at the top but maybe next time. The switch backs have a lot of loose rock but not too steep. We went in the morning and had shade most of the way. The trail head is a little difficult to find you go right at the interpretive center.

Easy hike, stunning views

Stunning views, easy hike. Well worth the effort / payoff ratio. We went right before sunset for some magical colors and walked back with the sun setting. At the bottom we drank a Big Bend beer we bought from the store at the top of the trailhead

Just like everything in BBNP, this is just magnificent. The views of the surrounding mountains and then, out the 'window' into the desert are awe-inspiring.

Love this park and love this trail. Great for solitude and views of the surrounding Davis Mountains. If hiking in the summer, carry lots of water with you as it does get hot and there is not a lot of shade to be had.

Spectacular views! The trail is fairly easy until you reach the last 1/4 mile to the waterfall. You will have to scramble across some slick rocks but the view it totally worth it, Highly recommended!

Amazing views!! Nice, easy hike. You will have to cross some wet muddy areas to get across to the trail but nothing too deep.

Very nice, easy trail.... Highly recommended.

Majestic views... A must do trail!

Very nice easy hike with great views at the end. I used this as a break the next day after Emory Peak and then hit South Rim. Very nice.

Not difficult until the end, where the creek crossings can be difficult due to slippery rocks. Great hike.

Very beautiful views. Had to cross knee deep water and climb a muddy embankment to get to the trail.

We loved this hike and highly recommend it. Beautiful sights!! Know your limits and turn around once the drop offs get too much to handle unless you have proper repelling/climbing gear.

Wonderful hike! Just enough water to make the crossings interesting and challenging.

Go at dusk. The sunset is majestic. Hiking back in the dark is good fun!

Very good hike. Stream running enough to make getting to end both wet and enjoyable.
