Not a hike but it’s a nice walk

Wow! What a workout this was. This was my first legit hike after coming into town I thought I was going to die on the way up (I’m being extra dramatic) but it was amazing and well worth the cardio!!! The view was phenomenal!! Definitely a must do!!

Went threw on my 2016 Tacoma sr5(2 wheel drive) just fine in the snow good trail

I needed my hiking sticks for this hike. Be sure to climb the big rocks at the top. There’s a rope to help get up...the view from the top of the rocks

Beautiful scenery and lightly trafficked well marked trail with some steep incline but mostly gradual ascent. Great mountain and valley views at destination make for great photos. This is a wonderful hike and worth the drive for a day trip.

Easy trail for off road. The hike to the top of the watching tower was great.

Fun trail

great hike, I love idlewild

really challenging for a beginner. most of it is uphill

Beautiful day to hike! There were a few scenic spots to stop and enjoy the view. The trail wasn't very difficult and was perfect amount of traffic getting to the trail head at 10:00a.

on Castle Rock Trail

Did this hike with the High Desert Hiking Group. Took my two dogs. Trail starts out with a rocky steep incline to Castle Rock (good work out). We stopped at Castle Rock. Very nice view of the lake. After the stop, I continued the trail to 2N10. Another nice incline surrounded by Pine Trees. By the time I returned there were people everywhere.

great hike and steady up hill hike definitely worth the hike! dog friendly. better to go early morning when it's not to busy.

Ok, I blasted another hiker with bear spray on this trail today. I don't know if you (hiker) will ever use this app but if you ever do, you will know this is your unique experience on this trail and this msg is for you. I'm so sorry! I had just tested my can as it had been in storage and had not yet replaced the safety. My finger was still on the trigger when you approached around that blind corner. I apologize immensely! BTW, since you didn't know what it was that I sprayed when I yelled "hold your breath and run down", you might look into carrying some on future hikes since you were alone and making no noise. Again, I'm really sorry I blasted you. At least you were almost to the end of the trail. :0

Trail was beautiful and somewhat challenging. Excellent views and sometimes a bit mysterious as there are a lot of bends in the trail. Great trail for experienced mountain bikers too. I'll do it again for sure.

Sorry again to the lady I bear maced...

Cougar Crest trail was closed so I decided to take this trail and had a great time. It’s not to steep and would probably be great for a family with kids.

It took me an hour and a half to get up and 45 minutes down but I’m probably an above average hiker when it comes to speed. 4 hours set aside would probably be best especially if you want to take it the amazing view about 500 feet after the sign for the Point.

This trail is closed 11/12-11/15 for filming

Don’t be misled by the short distance. It’s a steep uphill climb...sometimes up to 35 degree incline...steep all the way and rocky. It’s not too bad cuz it’s short, but it’s a nice little challenging hike.

One of my favorite big bear hikes. Done it in the summer, spring, fall and winter. Always great. Not super easy, but not very hard.
Great view at the top.

We took a wrong turn and turned it into an 8.2 miler...but still I think 6.8 is short. I think it’s more like 7.5.
Great hike. Very easy until the last mile which is a very steep uphill climb on a fire road. Beautiful view from the top.
For me, even though it’s longer, it seemed easier than the Gray’s Peak trail.

Nice easy trail along the lake surprised at how low it was. Saw lots of birds, but there was too much noises from all the people and the close proximity to the road, so most of the wildlife was scared away by the noise.

Great view!

Easy short hike. You need to climb some rocks for better views - that can be fun :) parking spot is small and you need to cross the road, so be carefull. we've collected a lot of trash after other people on that trail that day.

Nice gradual ascent in the pines.Beautiful autumn colors.

A really nice, easy trail. Two turnouts at the start for airing down and disconnecting sway bars and what not if you need. First half of the trail was a really mild and well maintained dirt road. After the first gate you see a little bit of wash outs here and there, some uncovered rocks, but nothing crazy. A vehicle with decent ground clearance and good tires shouldn’t have an issue. We saw a Stock Jeep JK at the ranger station, an old Isuzu Trooper and a few full-size 4x4 trucks.
There are many off shoots to other trails that lead back to campsites and great views. It you hang a left to stay on 2N13B and stick with it you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view and the ranger station isn’t far off from there.
This isn’t a John Bull or Holcomb creek style trail, this is an easy, Sunday cruise with amazing views and a few fun spots in areas where water has trenched the trail and uncovered small boulders and rocks. Totally worth the trip for awesome views and easy cruising.

Nice hike most of the way until the end where it becomes a very steep fire road. When you get to the top it is a very pretty view but not much room as if it covered with radio towers. Not quite the peaceful peak we had imagined. But there are some small trees so we hung the hammock and made the best of it watching a beautiful sunset.

Did this after we hit Clark’s trail. This was a breeze compared to that. Heavily trafficked. Great beginners trail.
