HikingBlowdownGreat!MuddyScrambleSnow

Great hike. First segment is through the burn, so not much cover. You essentially just follow the creek up to the falls. There was a bit of blowdown, but nothing too bad. Glad we had our micro spikes as it would have been a bit sketchy to pick our way up the last big hill in the snow. Definitely recommend scrambling down at the falls for the best pictures! There were only a few other folks there this morning around 11am, about twice as many on our way back out.

The trails is muddy off and on and there’s quite a bit of falls trees across trail. There is snow starting at about mile 2 and goes from there. Falls are gorgeous, worth the hike.

Hiking

Beautiful hike in spring/summer when the sun is beaming off the lake. Hot springs are nice but on a weekend you might want to go early to get one of the good pools as they are small and only fit maybe 3 people with a total of 6 or 7 pools.

Great hike, still lots of snow past falls to upper falls. But so nice, lots of logs and blow down to go over for extra added adventure! As always the views of the north and middle are mind blowing!

This trail is currently CLOSED. You need to walk about 3 miles from the closed gate to reach the trailhead. We didnt feel safe to leave our car at the closed gate and venture ahead. So we drove back to the main highway.

Great hike. Wide easy trail, some stairs along the way to the falls. About a half mile there and a half mile back. It's a great 1 hour adventure! We were there just before sunset to see a big bird come out but we lost it in the trees. Hawk maybe?

as of 4/9 the gate to the falls is closed, so we had to hike the 2.5 miles up to see the falls. We definitely speed walked and made it to the falls and back in an hour and 10 min. Some parts of the road are still snowed on any icy , but overall not bad. The annoying walk was definitely worth it, once we made it to the falls!

Beautiful trail! At some spots easy to lose the trail due to downed trees. Some deeper snow and slippery conditions. Otherwise easy walking other than jumping over and under trees.

Hiking

Amazing views and perfect weather. Short steep haul back to parking lot but otherwise a great relaxing hike in the river canyon!

Careful with Google maps, it tried making me turn on really narrow or completely blocked off forest roads. I believe it is nf-600 that has the sign for chush falls that you'll turn left on. Otherwise, there was a lot of fallen trees, none too difficult to pass. The falls were beautiful

From the parking lot to the falls is about .5 miles. It was supa pretty and it looks like it would be a great place to go swimming!

4/7/21 - Road is fully clear. Trail only has snow on upper parts (which is deep in places) near the falls now. Didn’t use micro spikes but would have helped!
