Even though the falls don't flow as much, it's still a great hike.

This was a pleasantly surprising hike! It is great to get the family out and about into nature. There are plenty or rock formations, brooks, and tree roots for young ones to climb and explore. Most of the trail is paved but there are places you can go off the beaten path. Depending on the day you will have heavy traffic or light traffic. Either way, it's worth taking the family to see the heart in the rock. I do caution, some vandals did tag rocks with graffiti.

Good enough

This is the best hike I’ve ever been on! It was so beautiful, you see everything from a stream, huge rocks, wildlife (we saw a huge snake on the trail) AND there’s a bunch of shade. Not to mention, we only saw about 4 different groups the whole time we were on it, which was a Saturday. It was a little hard to find at first but man, id recommend this trail to anyone!

Nice shaded trail but steep to get to falls. Hard to find trails or where to park.

we met up slightly after the sunrise for a relatively cool hike, despite the season. The beginning of the trail is paved, but quickly hits dirt. The trail eventually finds sanctuary from the sun as the canyon narrows. It’s a pretty easy trail, and I recommend it for any beginner looking to lengthen their hike. the area by the mine is nice and shaded. The hike to the mine is relatively short, extend it for the full sunset loop trail.

Hope you enjoy!

California has been going through a drought and this summer has been one of the hottest summers I’ve ever experienced. The waterfall has lost its heavy and pleasant flow.

Great trail, although a little overgrown. The atmosphere shifts several times throughout the hike, keeping it surprising and interesting. BRING: bug spray, the mostly-fired river bed is a mosquito haven. Also, perhaps booties for your dog too - as the asphalts the summer (it was 96 out) on the way back will burn their paws.

Nice short hike with some water to get your feet wet. Family friendly with lots of shaded areas to relax.

The trail was nice, and had a lot of shadows. But the entrance was hard to find. You have to go in front of the camp, then follow the pavement until you see a dirt road.

Sad because the water is gone

Lots of shade, nice breeze and beautiful. Trail is easy at first but steep towards end. A lot of people. . Not enough water for waterfall in July. Didn’t see the heart rock - don’t know if you have to climb down rocks to see it.

Amazing trail.
Tried it with the kids, and they loved it.

Easy trek with our dog. Some spots required a little extra footwork around trees where the sand was slippery, but neither kids nor adults were phased by this. The temp was perfect for the summertime- breezy and cool. To get to the trailhead, you’ll drive through a camp parking lot over a very shallow creek (at least when we were there) and make a couple windy turns before reaching an open space for several cars to park. The trail is covered in shade with lots of wildflowers and a little stream below the path. You can actually get to the heart in the picture if you climb down from the trail and climb up the rocks.

nice view took my 3 year old he loved it.

Lots of people and groups, kids, somewhat scenic trail. The closet parking area is indicated. We went a bit farther than the main tourist attraction, but wasn't worth it. Scrambling on rocks, cliffs somewhat fun.

Easy, fun, family trail

An easy hike, fun when you reach the stream, but hot and dry till you do. The trail crosses the stream 20+ times each way, so I plan on getting wet in advance. Extra socks and dry shoes in the car or keep sandals ready in the summer.

This was a very nice trail. Would rate as easy-moderate. Definitely would suggest exploring each little treasure around during the hike. Adds more time but the graffiti art is very pretty.

Entrance is at the end of a construction road past a yellow gate once you leave the residential area. You’ll walk until you hit a fork- to the left there is a gate entrance and to the right is more paved road. Both loop around & bring you back to the beginning of the fork.
If you want a good butt workout, I would suggest going to the right. The end (left gate entrance) is a long flight of stairs that will definitely tire you out.

Great trail on a hot day. Lots of shade. Lots of water. Many cautious mountain bikers. Just a few bozos.

We each brought a trash bag and started collecting litter along the trail

Great family hike.

It’d be a beautiful trail but due to the easy access it’s a local teen hang out which I can ignore, most are nice enough. I was too preoccupied by all the trash left behind to really appreciate my walk. Instead I made a makeshift sack with a towel left behind and collected as many water/Gatorade bottles as I could hold (even crushed and condensed.) they were all over! Floating in the little pools, scattered about the rocks, down the hills, along the trail. Came across a field trip or party of kids with some adults and one of the kids threw a stick toward my dog who was on leash minding her own business, none of the adults said any thing. Besides that there are some steep hills and slippery rocks, so be prepared.

I would not recommend this trail. There aren’t many signs so the trail is hard to follow. You end up on a fairly busy and narrow road (with no sidewalk) which leads into Raging Waters. We were passed by several trams and busses. More stress than it was worth.

Located in the Claremont Wilderness. Thompson Creek is a great hike and it runs along a park. From the start of the trail you can decide whiter to make it more difficut by going left up a steep hill or keep it simple by walking, hiking or running along the drainage ditch.

An easy/relaxing hike with amazing scenery! I would recommend to give it a go at least once. ❤️
