Nice paved city trail, from Richmond it goes up , down and twist into San Rafael, nice view of a lot of the East Bay, San Francisco in the Distance and in the center San Quentin and Mount Tam , good walk , it is actually 12.4 miles in total if you go back into Richmond (were our car was) which gave it a nice challenge
Enjoy the golden gate bridge view and surfing. Scenic beauty and fresh air, sound of the dashing waves, etc. Clean washrooms. Good size parking lot
Rough for a street bike, beautiful views though.
A beautiful Spring day by the Bay. I caught up with this trail near target in Emeryville. I then proceeded to go to the Emeryville Marina and then walk along the Bay and around the Berkeley Marina. The path has a lot of foot traffic and bicycle traffic. But everybody seems to look out for one another. There are many places to stop, sit down, drink some water, eat a snack, and just enjoy the view If you have a few hours to kill and you want a good view of the Bay I highly recommend this walk.
Shitty
Nice paved trail threw old cypress freeway, leading you into Albany, going threw Albany’s shore and leading into golden gate fields and soccer fields, then taking you finally into Albany Water front Trail! Good workout, beautiful people out enjoying the sun , solid workout, lace them up and enjoy :)
Long trail, very industrial and urban, once reaching Alemeda your rewarded with beautiful view of the SF Skyline , its a good endurance workout ! Wear some good shoes and bring your water pack you’ll be good
flat, moderately trafficked
Route is incorrect: unexpected detours and fences and after 3/4 way forward completed we were stopped by Navy police car telling us we should return back :-( Plus, AllTrails is no good for biking at all
Very interesting trail, had to take a few side streets to avoid the unpaved parkway area, other wise the rest of it is paved or dirt rocky road, the distance makes a nice workout , alot of bird life in the marshland which was sweet when spring comes it must get even more active, there restoration efforts to conserve the marshland is working in 20 years from now it will be even more alive can’t wait to see that evolution of this area :)! (The land fill area does have a strong potent odor so be prepared lol) other wise awesome trail!!
the Bay Bridge Trail has contributed to my mental health throughout the covid-19 pandemic. It's a fantastic place to go for an afternoon run / Walk. for the part that you're on the bridge itself, I recommend wearing some earbuds with an audiobook or some music, because the traffic noise can be a little annoying. the Bay Bridge portion of the trail is roughly three miles with a slight uphill grade then 3 miles down hill. there are very nice clean public bathrooms on yerba buena island. there is a East Bay Regional Park parking lot at the foot of the Bay Bridge.
Simple trail however the nice distance makes it a good afternoon leg workout , beautiful sunny day!
Nice trail to get the blood bumping , it can get a little windy so bring a jacket it’s actually 16.2miles so be prepared for the little extra mile or two have fun :)
You cannot currently cross the Petaluma River Bridge on foot or bicycle! Visit the Bay Trail website to find sections of the trail that are complete. http://baytrail.org/baytrailmap.html
This part of the trail is closed to the public. :-[
Great hike, amazing wildlife, but trail closed off at airport due to state property so could not walk to Napa.
View is not too interesting. Only about half the people had masks on.
