Very nice day hike. No real work for spectacular views! Trail head by the pier. First 1/4 mike on the sand, then trail cuts up the bluff. When you get into the Cypress groves be sure to take the cut offs toward the ocean for the very best views. Photo opps abound!

Beautiful and not hard. Mostly full sun exposure, we were happy temperatures were 80. Sunscreen a must. Highly recommend!

Very nice hike can’t wait to do it again .

So amazing- loved this trail and was not too difficult, esp. with a good bike! I started in Pacifica and went all the way to Moss Beach, where my family joined me by car and picked me up. - The trail continues down Montara Mountain and goes behind Sun Valley Equestrian, all the way to the town of Moss Beach.

The beach is amazing but I was somewhat disappointed by the trail itself. Very easy and convenient access though.

Was an easy hike, and good with kids as there is only one real incline. Took us less than 2 1/2 hours incl. a couple short breaks. The beach is a great place to stop for a break or lunch.

Really good hike. The hike gets really steep towards the north peak. Recommended to do it early in the day so you are done by noon.

Nice hiking trail, the first half is a bit tough, but gets easier afterworlds. If you're looking to hike in forest between trees, pick another one. This is open high elevation space with nice views overseeing SF, the beach and marin county.

Pretty cool hike. Can be cold at the top but the view is very nice

Part of the trail is closed. You can still make it to the end but prepare to add on about 8 extra miles to avoid getting torn up by the overgrown brush. Beautiful views of the sunset and tons of deer.

Lots of exposure on a sunny day, thankfully brought hat and sunblock! Views nice, but trail uphill a little monotonous.

Love this trail. It’s beautiful, mostly covered for rain or sun, dog friendly. Not a lot of parking but otherwise delightful.

This is my favorite one. Hiked 5 times in last two months. Beautiful views from the ridge.

Gorgeous and fantastic for pups.

This is a beautiful trail with scenic views. Followed the suggestion and went anti clockwise because that helped. This was almost a hard hike.

The distance shows 9.4 miles but that’s wrong. It took about 11 miles to complete. So be aware of that discrepancy. Also make sure you carry plenty of water. You will need it.

Done this twice. It's a nice hike.

I suggest going all the way to the top! Totally worth it. Would also suggest going on a clear day (if you can find one, haha), as everyday we've gone it's been super foggy!

Steep and beautiful views.

Very steep coming up or down from parking area...but not so steep that I had to slide on my butt.

Moderate hike with panoramic views. Great for a morning activity before lunch. Trail well maintained.

Great hike! Perfect to enjoy the fall weather and color change. I’m new to the area so thanks to all the previous comments for the tips!

My friends and I did this hike this week. It was amazing. Got it done in about 2.5 hours (1 way) not pushing it too hard.

Hidden gem sandwiched in between San Francisco and Half Moon Bay. Beautiful coastal views. Not as hectic as other over hyped trails in the area. Nice Fresh air. You might spot a whale or two on the lower end.

Wonderful hike. I did it back in April with my husband and it was difficult at the stair part. My second time doing it on Sunday with a girlfriend. Still hard, but better (since I have more hikes in) Encountered a rattlesnake at the top. But made it

This is an excellent hike ranging between moderate to hard depending in personal stamina. We did the complete 9.8 mile starting from North ridge, whittmore gulch, purisima Creek, Craig britton, Harkins ridge and back again North ridge.
elevation gain is good towards the last 2 miles. start early as it takes around 5-6 hours to complete

Beautiful and eerie pre-dawn October run up Montara Mountain. After heading out from the TH, I dropped down a bit and took the old road around a half mile in. About 2 miles in to the climb the trail gets a bit steep, but is non-technical and easy to follow even in the dark. I continued to climb up through and above the marine layer, feeling like I was in the Lost Boys. After about 4 miles, I reached the North Peak and took the fast decent back down.
