Such a pretty and peaceful hike. Great for those with less stamina or if you'd like to fit in a little hike. We were there before 10 AM and did not see one other person. Even though the trail was somewhat ice, it is completely flat, so was easy to traverse.

Crampons + a good hiking boot are a must! Snowy and icy but the views are worth it.

it is closed now!

Went up today at 12:30. Beautiful snow covered trail. Good switch backs all the way up. Yaktraks were very helpful!

October 9
Cool hike, great views of the canyone and walking right above it on the path and grates. Very icy though, high fall risk, crampons suggested. The only problem with this hike being the amount of people there (high) and the amount of people falling and basically scrambling not to fall because of the ice.

Great for the whole family, a lovely sightseeing opportunity without too much work. A bit busy though, and pushy tourists to avert, but a great time nevertheless!

Great trail to start getting more difficult terrain. The trail is in great shape despite snow all morning.

Beautiful hike! Mirror Lake is very small and frozen now but a nice picture spot. Another half mile takes you to Lake Agnes which is also frozen but pretty. Tea house is closed but you can get a sense for its quaintness. Some steep parts of the hike and it’s snowy so you will want spikes.

Arrived a few weeks ago at 630am on a Friday. Parking lot was full at that time. Amazing views of the peaks. Some of the most scenic backdrops I have seen in a larch forest. Make sure to continue to Sentinel pass for more amazing views.

Snowy but the view at the end is amazing. If you climb up, you can take the gondola down for free after 5pm during winter.

Snowy and icy! Bring your spikes for the hike and you’re good to go!

Favourite lake in Banff!! ❤️

Lovely hike but you will want micro spikes especially for the trek up to the upper Falls. So many people slipping and sliding without them. Parking was no problem at 9:30 in a Thursday. Not crowded at all. But bring spikes!

Hiked on Oct 9. The trail was snowy for the most part. Great hike overall! The clouds were overcast, but I still saw the beautiful views at the top. Prepare for more intense path inclines as you approach the summit.

Easy hike. Current snowy/icy conditions add a little more difficulty to get up to upper falls. Not as crowded due to overcast weather and trail conditions.

Beautiful views (until the clouds came in and our heads were literally in the clouds :) ) lovely hike - very cold at the weather station when we went up. The hike is a steady climb with great reward. So much snow up there already.

We did this hike last Sunday (October 7). It was very easy (as it's just walking, no scrambling or anything like that), but you NEED ice cleats - otherwise it's very slippery and can be dangerous. We saw some people without ice cleats who were going down literally on their butts.
Due to ice and snow, it was not crowded (we went at around 1pm).

This is a very easy trail that is paved most of the way with handrails! The waterfalls are beautiful - however this is such a well know place make sure to get up super early to beat lots of crowds or try going during the week.

This hike is very steep. It goes straight up until you get to the tea house. We went in August and it was a brisk day. We started about mid day. It started to get chilly and rain as we were going up so make sure you bring clothing if the weather changes. Lakes were beautiful. Its not a long hike but it challenged me due to he straight incline. Once we got to the tea house it was packed with people there was no where to sit or even stand for that matter. We got tea because why not!Everyone was crowed in the tea house because it was cold and raining. Once we were there the views were not spectacular because we were basically in a rain cloud. But still recommend it and recommend doing it early to avoid crowds. An experience you should have when at lake Louise.

This was easily one of my favorite hikes ever, but be mindful that this route stops before you actually get to the final tea house and viewpoint. Expect an extra couple of miles (we made it to the second tea house, and my data had me at 13.2 miles all said and done once back). In my opinion, the toughest part of the trail is getting to Lake Agnes. Even though there’s a steep slope to get up the Big Beehive, it’s fairly easy because of the switchbacks, and very short. Also, Little Beehive has the best view of Lake Louise and the surrounding ranges (also my opinion), so don’t skip out on that.

Coming down the back of Big Beehive is extremely easy, and there isn’t much for difficulty the rest of the way to the Plain of the Six Glaciers. I didn’t make it to the final viewpoint, but you’re still rewarded with amazing views for much of the way. We went in early June and there was significant snow in several spots, both at Agnes/Beehives, and near the end of the leg in. Coming back out was a cinch, but make sure you have bear spray because we saw a mom with cubs across Louise as we were returning. Altogether, phenomenal hike with tons to see!

Did this hike on Sept 29, 2018. Absolutely beautiful and relatively easy if you watch your step after the tea house, it gets a bit icy. We had to turn around after seeing an avalanche. Keep an eye out for trail reports if doing this in October.

If there is one must do hike in the Canadian Rockies .. must be this one for the view .. easy, short, breathtaking view!!

Great trail! Just very very icy. Only could make it up because of railings. If you don’t have spikes, very difficult with snow/ice. Otherwise would be very easy. Can’t wait to come back and do again.

My review is from the perspective of an amateur landscape photographer.

The trail is ranked as moderate and that's an accurate rating. I'm 62 and in good health didn't have any trouble complementing the hike. The highlights of this hike are the lower and upper falls and the meadows at the end of the trail. ( If you are exhausted from just hiking the lower falls then you should consider turning back. The trail gets steeper from there)

You'll need a tripod and perhaps a ND filter to capture both the lower and upper falls with the "flowing" water effect. You'll also need lots of patience as this is a very popular hike and there is very little room to setup a tripod without someone bumping into you. But if is worth the effort.

If you have made it to the Upper Falls and you still have lots of energy, then you should proceed to the "Ink Pots" . Personally I find the ink pots nit to be very photogenic but the valley/meadows they sit in is one of the prettiest I've ever seen. You have a large meadow surrounded by snow capped mountains with a glacially fed stream running through the middle. I spent two hours just wondering around shooting various compositions, having a great time.

One caution: These are the Canadian Rockies. You need to be prepared for cold weather even in the summer

Highly recommended.

This hike requires to be in a good shape.
You will find incredible views.

My friends and I we left the car in a parking lot that is located 5 minutes ago. In the parking lot there are free buses that takes you to Lake Moraine and this hike. I heard that this hike will we open until 8th October.

Hiked to the tea house in snow pack. Poles + Yaktrax on hiking boots made it manageable. Tea house closed however it was beautiful to sit and enjoy our home made hot tea from our thermos. Icicles (some falling) on the upper path; witnessed an avalanche on the lower Victoria glacier, Another group saw a bear w/ 2 cubs.

Started out hike heading from the main parking lot towards the 6th bridge and working out way back to the 1st bridge. Mountain views, canyon walls, blue rivers and waterfalls and in between nice shaded trees. Was a bit crowded as we got back to bridge 4, 3, 2 and 1. However still very lovely, many photo ops and worth the trip. Hiked 9.23.2018.

easy walk to the top
