on Lake Agnes Trail

Such a great hike! At an incline pretty much the entire hike, but well worth it at the top and at various points to see Lake Louise and Mirror Lake. We were planning on getting here pretty early, but ended up running late. As expected there were tons of people on the trail and at the tea house. I also did not realize the tea house is sit down with table service, which made waiting for a table much longer. Still worth the views. I made it to the top in about 40 minutes.

Went early at 6:30 am and glad that I did! It was a beautiful hike, but on the way down saw tons of people on their way up. Go early so you don’t have to fight the crowds!

Great day today, the weather was perfect. It’s a little more windy and cold near the falls but that is to be expected with glacier water. Some parts were scarier for me because I’m afraid of heights but even as a beginner hiker it wasn’t too bad. I had my poles and good hiking boots. The elevation is not much and it’s mostly an easy hike, just one steeper section. The falls are awesome and the lake is so blue! By far one of my favorite hikes.

Love light and respect

Getting an early start is key. The falls were beautiful and going the extra steps to the ink pots are worth it!!!!

Great views of the water- stick to the river! Made the mistake of going through the forest unnecessarily.

Amazing views!!!

Beautiful view along the way to it. From lake Louise and lake mirror and further up to Agnes. Three steps to explore further and further. Amazing!

Stunning hike - not to steep, and the ground is very easy to walk on! If you want more of a challenge, continue on to the Big Bee Hive!

eine super Tour mit immer wieder tollen Ausblicken

10/10 views. Paved, very short trail with steep incline to the look out. Bathrooms in the parking lot. SOOO many people acting like fools.

Not a long hike, but fairly steep. It's worth going up to the Little Beehive or Big Beehive from Lake Agnes. Less chance of running into a bear with all the people on the trail :)
Parking at Lake Louise however, is a whole other story! Went on a Thursday, got there at 10am and still had to go back to the shuttles and wait 45 min to get on one.... The entire day we had to be mindful of the time so we don't miss the shuttle back... Very dissapointing that they can't build more parking.

Awesome hike, very worth the views.

General walking shoes are fine, no hiking boots required. All trails are paved and very well maintained. Some of the surfaces are wet from the river, but all and all a very easy, scenic walk.

Beautiful Hike and great views. If you can, stay on the path near the river bed until you get to the steeper section with stairs that will take you to the viewpoint and then on to the falls. You can opt to take the right path through the forest as we did, but in retrospect the other way in much easier and scenic (we did that on the way back). Through the forest you will need to climb fairly steep and dense sections of overgrown forest. We were lucky some previous hikers left some markers to guide us out of it. You will end up in an open section of low vegetation near a creek bed infested with mosquitoes (luckily we had mosquito repellent on us) so push on toward the river side, left when looking toward the falls and glacier. Once you reach the riverbed side it is pretty straight forward. In a nutshell, unless there is too much water, go the riverbed side. Views from the falls are great looking towards bow lake and the Num Ti Jah lodge.

Very beautiful and different views/scenery throughout. Worth going the extra 1.3 km past the teahouse to the lookout point.

Incredible hike, it has everything from peak-a-boo views of Moraine Lake through the forest, beautiful 360 views of 10-peaks range in Larch Valley and breathtaking mountain views at the top, snow melt lakes and streams - it has it all. The switchbacks up to Larch Valley are a killer but keep going past the tree line and the views are well worth it - even if you don’t make it up to the top of the pass the meadow is incredible . The final switchbacks up to Sentinel Pass weren’t too bad although it is quite steep along the side and may prove a good challenge if heights make you nervous. Trail was very well maintained though and as long as you have good hiking shoes and take your time you will have no problems. Favorite hike in Banff thus far and spending a day near Moraine Lake is a must do!

Scenery changes constantly. Very rewarding hike that gives you a good feel for the Lake Louise area all in one hike.

Nice easy hike up a paved trail leading to an overpopulated wooden lookout. For an even better view with no one in your way, leave behind the crowds and continue on to a three-way junction. Left leads to the upper bus parking lot while the right and middle trails continue on to a Forest loop. Take the middle trail and continue on for about a kilometre where you will run into an unmarked dirt trail on your left. Take this switchback trail up to an amazing lookout with no one around. It’s well worth it, trust me.

Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful lakes in the Rockies. The short uphill trail can get quite busy. But the view at the top is incredible.

I had never seen a trail this busy till I did this one. There were too many people unto the lower falls. Later the crowd started thinning out as we header for the upper falls. Had to wait in a line to get closer to get a view of the falls.

Terrific hike. We got there at 7am to beat the crowds, and only passed and handful of folks on the trail. Mostly all an ascending trail via long switchbacks, with great views of Lake Louise through the tree line. Gets your heart beating, and makes you look forward to breakfast at the tea house. Only downside was the biting bugs, but hey, it’s summer in the Canadian woods.

The trail is really nice however it is so busy with people it was almost like waking through New York City. People in the way all the way up. If you don’t like the crowds get there super early.

Awesome!

If you do a hike from Lake Louise to Big Beehive, you can continue your hike to the Plains of six Glaciers to enjoy the amazing view of the Rockies!
Definitely check out the tea house, which is almost 2 km before the actual glaciers! DON'T FORGET TO HAVE CASH WITH YOU cause there's no electricity there and the chocolate cake is amazing (So you don't want to miss it :P).
Be prepared, don't go with running shoes, have nice hiking shoes with good grips on them (not necessarily ankle ones).

Very busy trail! Beautiful falls

Stunner and a burner. Well worth it - amazing views!

One of the most beautiful hikes I have been on in recent years

Busy and people just stomp all over vegetation to get a good picture. Beautiful views.

Rewarding hike. Absolutely beautiful vistas.
