Beautiful out-of-the-way trail. Very few people. Morgan Territory Road is a one lane road for almost 9 miles so, it is slow going but once you get there this is a great hike. Mostly flat, a few hills. Very peacefull woodland setting with the reservoir in the distance. Great Hike.

Awesome views. Moderate elevation gain.

Do not try and use the Lower access area. It is closed. There used to be a gate, but now t is just barbed wire. Rather is the upper McGuire loops access point - around another half mile up Welch creek on the left.

A real gem! Beautiful hike with plenty of shade including redwoods In one area. Not all of the trails are marked, the AllTrails map was appreciated. There’s currently a lot of poison oak and it’s buggy in some places since there’s still some water in the creeks. I can imagine it will be gorgeous in the winter after it rains.

Free parking along the side of the road. Beautiful expansive views. Absolutely no shade so keep in mind for sunny days. Some good incline on the way out but overall pretty quick moderate hike.

Falls were a great finish. Parking was ok...waited ~10 for one to open up but was expected. First/last 1.5 mile of the hike (fireroad) was our least favorite but overall a good Sunday outing.

Tough. But fun.

Great views of mountains and nature.

Beautiful but super dusty. I recommend Volvon Trail to Volvon Loop for more tree cover, prettier trek up to the loop which affords spectacular views on clear days.

I do these trails a few times a week, great park. ❤️

I hiked this trail and it is amazing. Definitely not 8.5 miles. I clocked 10.7 miles, so be prepared. Lots of it is shaded. You will see frequent changes in the ecosystem. This is a mountain biking trail and I was the only hikers I came across.

As of July 16, 2018, this trail is unfortunately closed until “the heat wave is over.” Not sure when that will be, but I do hope to visit this trail soon!

Not marked at all so make sure you download the map before you start. It’s a rough way up and steep way down. Not a lot of shade at certain points so make sure to wear sun screen. Not sure if we took the right way back, because we went down a thin little valley path to get back

Well you will have no signal there if you have t-mobile lol know your way around. Beautiful beautiful place loved it

We ended up walking from our hotel in San Rafael and did not arrive to the trailhead until mid morning on an early June day that happened to be very warm. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Despite the heat and full sun it was worth the effort. Hawks and eagles can be seen catching the currents and there were plenary of beautiful vistas. Trail signs are not existent so make sure you study the map before you get started.

Great trail. Lightly trafficked this past Sunday. Fairly easy terrain. Lots of ticks. Found at least 12 of them on my pup. It’s tick season, not much I can do about it.

The view is amazing and the wildflowers are starting to come out. It is a short hike but steep, worth the climb.

This hike is really the perfect day hike if you are in the mood for scenic views rather than intense canopy. There isn't much shade on this hike so I'd definitely recommend a hat, sunscreen, and most important water. Given that, I'd say that this is one of my favorite "lazy Sunday" types of hikes. It's not intense, but it's not flat either. It's a great hike to go on a picnic with your SO or a small group of friends.

The views are incredible, and this hike is beyond gorgeous when it's green out. We went in late March 2018 and were the only people on the trail somehow. You can see San Francisco easily if it's not a foggy day, you can see Mt. Diablo, and you can see most of Marin as well as some glimpses of the ocean. All in all, I'd say that this is one of the best scenic hikes around.

Hiked the Volvon Loop, around Bob Walker Ridge, eating lunch at the top. Saw cows, turkey vultures and markings from boar digging, along moist areas. Some moss, lichen and mistletoe, amongst the Oaks and Manzanita. It was an overcast day, with periods of sunlight. Grand vista from the top. there were open bathrooms at the trailhead and along the trail. Many bicyclists were seen along the bike path, leading to the park, from Livermore, and a couple bicyclists were seen, resting at the trailhead. No poison oak was noticed and trails were well maintained, the width of a car. Hiked with a group leisurely, Sunday, 2/4/1018, about 3.5 hours, up Coyote, Stone Corral, to the top on Volvon Loop, and down Valley View, Blue Oak, Volvon, Prairie Falcon and Condor Trails. there were several other hikers and a few dogs. Large parking lot had many cars but even more spaces available than used. No ticks but I made a point to follow the posted advice at the trailhead, to not sit under the Oaks, since it was a temperate, mostly overcast day.

Beautiful hike along a riparian trail up to a ridge hike with views of Mount Diablo. We hiked to Carson Falls from where the Liberty trail intersects the Oat Hill fire road. The segment to Carson Falls was marked clearly and was short (less than 1.0 miles). The hike has steep inclines so you get your workout but it is well worth it. I should note that the Liberty trail is itself unmarked but its well worn and easy to follow to Oat Hill fire road where there are a number of well marked trail heads and intersections.

Good hike above and through the fog on a Winter day. Got 2 ticks on arms, may have been from my off-leash dog.

Great moderate hike!

Be aware that the trail is closed at Carson Falls - a posted sign says trail closed due to hazardous conditions. This hike is in a beautiful area but the trail map needs to be edited and updated for accuracy. I deleted my recording due to trail map errors and will record an alternate route next time.

A very poetic and beautiful hike! A bit strenuous and rustic at times, but well worth it! This was one of my favorites so far!

One of the prettiest hikes we’ve done Lots of little wildlife: 15+ Banana Slugs, 2 Salamanders and a centipede. Great views. More strenuous than a moderate hike because of the steep climbs and descents. Never saw a cave.

Really like the hike however dont use my upload - tried to extend the hike by a few miles and the trail on the map I wanted to use is blocked with no trespassing AND a camera. Easy trailhead to find, trail in good condition, get there early and see the sun rise. The hike is pretty much a fire road but the views are amazing on Marin's second highest ridge. Almost zero cover so start early or bring sunscreen. I will hike again in the winter

This app labels the miles and elevation wrong. The trail isn't even a full six miles and the elevation is less than the 2K indicated. So it wasn't the workout I was after, but the views were really pretty once you get to the actual loop part and it was very peaceful as few others were around.
