Beautiful views; rough roads but worth the bumps!

on Cathedral Rock Trail

Loved! Very scenic, a little crowded in am. Parking is pretty good if you get there early.

Stuff hike but great views.. if hot takes lots of water. Hardest part is going. Back down!

Loved this trail. It is on the easy side of moderate, but this trail is not easy. There is some good elevation changes and some excellent scenery. The lower parts of the trail are pretty easy, but the later parts near the summit are where it because more difficult. Definitely worth checking out.

Easy fun trail for the kids.

Nice trail first hike was a bit tough due to distance for me, but fun!!

Nice easy walk/stroll around the lake. Friendly ducks. A lot of families and couples. Plenty places to sit and relax.

The only reason I would rate this as moderate would be because it’s long and the hike up to cathedral. The loop is all flat with lots of mountain bikers but super pretty. Bring water not too much shade!

easy walk lots of birds super easy to get to.

Unbelievable at sunset- we were up there with only three others and were treat to an incredible experience. Windy at the top!

Decent short trail with a modest payoff at the end. 6.5 out of 10.

Nice trail with great views of the Superstitions. The petroglyphs are cool and we even saw a rattlesnake.

Short easy walk but worth the stop, fantastic cliff dwellings.

Great hike with ever changing views of the butte. Did it with our kids.

Great trail. Moderate is perfect description. Summited right before sunset and while it was beautiful we really had to hoof it back down to beat the night setting in. So last mile was pretty dark. Would do again at sunset but descend on one of the western-facing trails.

Great short hike with moderate to difficult vertical climb mid way up to the summit. Spectacular views. One of my favorite hikes.

Great trail, we didn’t see a single person the whole time. Beautiful scenery and great view from the top of the mountain. Bring your hiking poles because the last portion is a bit steep but otherwise it’s a fairly flat trail. Definitely not hard, even the last portion that is uphill was moderate as long as you’ve been hydrating, bring plenty of water since there is hardly any shade! We parked at the first parking lot just off the road and walked in to the trailhead down the dirt road. I wouldn’t recommend driving to the trailhead unless you have a car suited for off roading since there are some bumpy parts. We also saw a coyote driving down the main road to the parking lot so watch for wildlife on the trail. The trail back and out was probably more like 12 km, not 9.4 km as listed on the app.

Heiroglyphic Trail is a good easy trail, with minomal elevation gain, a good hike for all skill levels, the coolest part was seeing the writings on the rocks at the top of the trail.

Went on Saturday with a friend. See some cactus flower bloom on the trail. Great work out. Beautiful design on the rock. Only challenge I have is to go around the biggest rock with so many people stand in the way. Not to give anyone access to get on rock my fear was to slide and fall but I did not

Awesome quick trail with lots of fun climbing

Great trail for a hiker with moderate ability.

Fun hike for the family with a great view. Our 6 year old said this was her favorite hike of our trip to Sedona.

A short hike to get to an amazing spot! Great photo ops. Go a little further up the the river to get to a very peaceful shaded spot.

This is one of the most beautiful hikes I've done! I am 30 weeks pregnant and made it to the top, and so can You! the only thing I was not aware of was that it's about a 15 minute drive on a dirt road. besides that it was a beautiful trail with lots of gorgeous views! definitely worth the drive⛰

Fun for the family. Not hard and has some amazing views, waterfall and hieroglyphics.

Amazing and popular hike. Short distance but steep and narrow at times and very crowded so can take a good coupe hours but place is full of good energy and people were gracious and polite even when having to wait for people on narrow ledges and 2 way traffic. We did the hike with a 7&10 year old and it tested their abilities but they were able to manage and felt great about completing it. Would recommend getting there early to get parking in the small lot there and to get going before trail get overcrowded. Views at different plateaus along the way are amazing and at the top is just beautiful.

Phenomenal height to view the sunset with a delightful setting to have an evening picnic. A wonderful moon glare upon the rocks to illuminate the pathway to descend at night fall. Moderate quick hike with a little agility required towards the top with foot holes:!)

Please don't bring flipflops, this is a scramble. Expect to use hands and feet for 3 steep sections. About 100 feet of class 3 terrain, otherwise a short hike for grand views of the area. Once at the top continue around left for views of the spire.
