Great hike and incredible scenery. First mile is the hardest.

Sunny, few clouds, Friday 1pm 60°, medium traffic. This trail was not easy for me, had to stop on the way up (which I try not to) but a good one. Heart rate for up to 160 and legs got worked for the first 1.4 up then easier along the top also leg got negative workout on the way down. Had to use my walking stick on this one. Great views and flowers blooming with the desert landscape and big boulders. #newhikefriday #rjpathseakers

Very nice hike with opportunities to branch out along the way. Very green desert after recent rains.

Really cool trail. The scale up is pretty fun and the caves are a really interesting sight. Not rocky and not particularly hard.

Great hike! Definitely not for beginners and please don't bring your dog(s) if you plan on going all the way to the summit. Stick to the left on the way up. Views were amazing.

Great hike! Bit of up and down on trail...warm on sunny sides. Enjoyed the views. PS: phone stopped recording where service wasn’t available.

This hike was enjoyable. Long, challenging, and good views from the top.

Piestewa however is not a place I see myself returning to very often. There are so many people that hike it and a lot of those people lack etiquette.

With that being said, it is very well maintained.

I enjoyed Camelback. It was challenging, and had good views. I liked climbing up the rocks!

To be completely honest, I don’t think it is super special that I’d want to drive out there often and around so many people of different skill levels. It is a good hike, but to me, it’s a little overrated.

What a challenge! very steep climb and I kept thinking going down would be more difficult, and it was. Had to remove the tri-focals to have better depth perception. I'm and avid hiker in the Rockies and this was tough for me. But I did it! I envy those that can do it quickly and are steady on their feet. I've got a new workout plan for the gym to help with that. 65 and feeling alive! rock on☺️

Favorite hike in Phoenix so far. But I think I’d call it easy

It was a beautiful hike at sunset. For my second hike it was a challenge (heights/rocky) that I was happy to accomplish.

Nice views from the top. Stairs pretty much the whole way there. I would prefer the loop if you want to see scenery but the peak if you want to see far.

AllTrails should probably update their rating system and include expert level, because this one would definitely be that. I didn’t feel this was so much a hiking trail as it was a rock climbing trail. You were using all fours for a good majority of the last mile. That being said I’m from the Midwest and am an average hiker at best and I did feel overmatched by this trail but a more experienced hiker may feel right at home. Be sure to pack water and maybe a snack or two. Also the notion that dogs are allowed on the trail is absurd. A dog can maybe handle the first mile and a half but after that it’s impossible for a dog to go on this trail.

Short hike but good workout! lots of rock scaling.. good hiking shoes and water a must. Took 1 hour going moderate speed to get to top and 25 minutes to go down going fast. No problem with parking mid week at 10 am. This hike wouldn't be fun in the heat. Very steep sections.

It’s a nice short hike, pretty busy and lots of tourists. Great view. Pretty steep but not that long.

Beautiful hike! The first mile is the hardest.

about 3/4 up, the trail requires climbing up rocks, which is difficult for me (age 77). also my issues with height started be challenging here. These things don't bother most hikers though, and it's a rewarding trip.

Bring a pair of gloves! I brought my fingerless weightlifting gloves and cut up my finger tips. Amazing hike! Take it easy going up there and listen to your body. I thought it would be extremely difficult, but this felt like a moderate hike for me. 3/4ths of the way up was rock scrambling. Also bring good sturdy shoes for traction. Gym shoes won't cut it.

Always a Great Hike on Wind Cave! Hiked with friend Stephanie for a Sunset Hike. Beautiful!!! 1-11-19

Good solid hike with some scrambling. More climbing than anticipated.

Loved the challenge and the views from the top! Good traction on your shoes and a backpack with 2 liters of water are going to help you here! This trail is very crowded even on weekdays, so not the hike for you if you want solitude or don’t like lots of moving out of the way for other hikers (uphill has the right of way!) Other hikers are very friendly and encouraging.

Was a nice little trail up to the old restaurant. The trail it self isn’t too bad but the incline can definitely get to you if you’re not used to it. Good views of the entire Phoenix metro area. Would do it again for the exercise :)

nice hike, lots of options.

The descent is incredibly dangerous. I slipped on a boulder and was an inch away from bashing my skull into another boulder. Easily the most difficult trail in Phoenix, so be careful!

The top is amazing. Because the peak is so steep the trail is very windy so it takes quite awhile to get there, but definitely worth it. There are a lot of lookout points along the way.

Was a awesome climb and beautiful day with my
Daughter

Awesome hike! As a pretty experienced hiker, this trail was difficult because of the lack of markers. Easy to lose your way if you are not looking up to find blue and white dots throughout. Amazing views at the top! When in doubt, stay left on the way up. Gloves would be very helpful for the way down as you are rock climbing down for the first mile descend. Not for someone who is afraid of heights or is a nervous hiker. Definitely recommend this bad boy if you are in the Mesa/Phoenix area!

This is one trail that we like to hike each year. It is beautiful and not challenging at the beginning, but as you start winding up Pass Mountain the elevation and grade becomes more strenuous. If you have knee issues you must remember that coming down is tougher than going up! It is a great geology tour and we have been rewarded several times coming down in the evening with coyotes barking from down below.
