excellent climb

Hiked 2nd time in honor of my Dads 83rd Birthday 1-16-19!!! Happy Birthday Dad xo

outstanding hike.

title is misleading , it's actually goldmine to Santan to dynamite trail. if you continue in the Santan trail you'll add an extra couple of miles to the hike. it's a pretty hike , with benches and rest stops along the way. great view at the top but a lot of it is in the valley/wash. went in a weekday and there were a decent number of people hiking or mountain biking.

If you plan on taking a mountain bike, only ride on the west side until the the trail starts to get rock on the north side then turn around. east side of the mountain is too rocky to ride.

overall it was a good exercise. it is easier going counter clockwise. parking was free and well marked trail. the view was ok, I mean its normal rocky mountain nothing special

Should be rated difficult, in my opinion, as the Old Man trail is fairly steep.

Awesome trail! Started at the main trailhead instead. Shared the trail with a trail race today!

Nice trail great views... easier doing counter clockwise

At first a good heart pump, then once at the top it is a nice scenic walk. Took us about 1 hour 45 with stops at the top.
Pay $7 parking fee. $2 per person if just using the trail. Bring cash.

Love these trails!

Well-marked trail, with one short steep climb and the rest a nice walk.

Hiked this every day with my dad. Great for a brisk Run not to challenging.

One of my favorites! Not too long, so you can almost always squeeze a hike in!

Nice hike for out of town family and guests who are reasonably fit. We are both 66 years old, do quite a bit of walking and hiking anyway, enjoyed the loop without hurting ourselves. For older hikers, at least one trekking pole is a good idea for more stability on loose gravel. Clockwise hike gets the steep part out of the way first.

nice trail, wasn't crowded even though it was a Saturday. Amazing views and pretty challenging incline for a amateur hiker.

Great trail, not terribly challenging. Awesome views of the valley. I was buzzed by some fighter jets from the nearby AFB, which was a highlight

Nice trail, excellent views. Pretty moderate I would say, but there are other trails connecting that provide a decent workout.

Good hike with great views. The Goldmine hill is a little challenging and gets the heart pumping for older hikers. I like to start on this trail and finish on the dynamite trail.

An actual easy hike with beautiful views

Fun hike. Moderate to start going clockwise.

Great trail, we went clockwise for a more moderate incline making the back half a tad difficult as it is fairly steep in sections but definitely doable. I have never seen the back side of the mountain and it is excellent the entire time. Trail is in good shape. The last mile and a half gets kind of old as it is just a ton of loose gravel and we were ready to be done. however it does not discount the rest of the hike at all.

Good trail! Not far and it was a good workout. We saw a few coyote too.

Fun hike, we go clockwise and get the steep climb out of the way first. Several benches along the well marked trail to sit on and enjoy the views.

Nice quiet trail with breath taking views of the Salt River valley and the Superstition Mountains. This is a long trail and you will need to plan to take lots of water and maybe a snack. This trail is not well marked so a GPS would be handy if you have not hiked it before. There is a fee per car to enter the park.

I haven’t hiked this yet but have a question. Is this really a loop?? When I look at map it looks like an out and back.

Fun hike. Great Views with some steep inclines!

Challenging first accent but the views from the top are worth it
