Great views of the Yellowstone Canyon on this. While there is the trail that can be walked in its entirety, there are also parking spots at various places so you can make this work however you please in terms of whether you want to hike it or just stop at the designated viewpoints. I went as the sun was setting and it was incredibly beautiful.

I have done this Mystic Falls loop three different times of the summer. Mid-to-late June is the best b/c the snow melt is awesome; the water is roaring; and there are small waterfalls that are very nice that are gone by mid-July and thereafter. Every time I go back to YNP, this hike is a Must. A repeat.

This trail is very nice because it takes you to the top of Yellowstone’s most famous waterfall. Looking down you can truly take in the power of the falls. This path is good for all ages and is very easy. Also if you are in this part of Yellowstone I recommend you go to Artists Point for more great views of the falls.

What a view! Wow... a bunch of stairs! Totally worth the slow stair adventure on the way back up to the trail. Don't worry about having to rest between flights. There are random levels to rest and catch your breath, if need be.

Short low-traffic trail to the closest head-on view of stunning lower Yellowstone Falls. We appreciated having the entire trail to ourselves.

Such an interesting hike with lots of geological features!!

We were able to go in late October. It was a wonderful hike since we were about the only ones there!!! We saw lots of bison and such interesting and magnificent scenery!

I cried it is so pretty. I am a sucker for waterfalls, this is mother nature at her best.

Interesting but a bit too smelly. Nice information if
You have a guide who is passionate about the area.
I enjoyed it with Wildland Trekking.

I didn’t hike the trail —we only went to the touristy section where you can see Inspiration point and the canyon. It was amazing. So beautiful. Probably one of the prettiest places in Yellowstone.

Grateful our Hiking group took the time to see this even though was w little crowded. Go early for fewer crowds.

I guess if you are going to show some out of town folks Old Faithful and want to call it a hike, this would be the route, but not really something I’d do again unless that was the exact goal. Hiking up to observation point started to feel like I was finally hiking but then by the time I got away from the crowds of people we began to descend into them again. Views of a bunch of tourists waiting for Old Faithful to erupt, and a river bridge, and a descent view overlooking the other side of the lodge. Good if it’s your first time in the park and just want to walk around.

Went in early June. Easy and beautiful. I live nearby and this is on the list for in town guests.

Not very busy on Black Friday. Was very icy in some areas, but enjoyable on a beautiful sunny day!

This was a cool hike but easy.. once we passed the overlook to Primastic Springs the crowd definitely thinned out. Once you get to Fairy Falls I would seriously consider continuing on to Imperial Gyser. There was nobody back there so it felt like it was our own private gyser.... it also goes off like every 30 seconds. If you do the whole thing you get to see prismatic, the waterfall and a gyser.

Nice level trail along the river. Paved in spots. Beautiful landscape. Geyser was not quite as described today. Started bubbling at 2:30 pm, small eruption for 2 min at 3:00 pm, larger eruption at 3:24 pm but only for 5-6 minutes and not a loud steam cycle as described. May have needed to stay a little longer. Still a gorgeous day and worth the wait.

Old Faithful is way too hyped up. Its predictably is about all that’s notable. Beyond that it’s jammed with bus upon bus of tourists who leaving thinking “that was it?”. My recommendation is to get away from the main events and hike to some waterfalls - Mystic, Fairy, Osprey. They are not difficult to get to and you’ll taste more of the ruggedness and beauty of Yellowstone.

Make sure to do the entire loop. If you start low, keep going up and up and up after you pass the falls. It’s a peaceful hike and chances are you won’t encounter many others. The view at the top is great.

Easy hike. Great, wide trail. Nice views. Budget time for at the top; you will want to put the lookout center at the top to good use.

Stairs, and lots of them. Absolutely a must do trail If you go to Yellowstone. The bottoms allows you to get stunning photos of the Grand Canyon of Waterfalls. If you've even wanted to see the base of a waterfall, do this trail. It's completely breathtaking and virtually impossible to take a bad photo whether you are using a cellphone, DSLR, Bridge, or point and shoot. As far as if you are looking to carry camera gear, be careful. After all the hiking and calories burnt climbing the over 300 steel steps to the top , be sure to stop and get yourself a Wilcoxson's huckleberry ice cream sandwich ... or a boxful.

The end of the trail is amazing as it has over the edge views of the falls. Must do.

Good family friendly hike

Very Unique geological experience

Definitely go past the falls to imperial geyser! Totally worth it!

Beautiful trail with amazing views. Hiked parts of it in July 2017. You can get right next to the head of Yellowstone falls and/or take some great photos at a distance as well. Not for small children.

The stairs coming up were certainly tough but the falls were beautiful and I enjoyed this trail.
