Beautiful Fall day. Pretty ricky coming up and around the ridge, but oh so worth the view! Nice along the Creek back down.

The map does not match the description. It is a loop, not out-and-back. Once passing the gate, follow 105, and come down through Gibson Mt. it took me about three hours and a half to finish the loop.

Beautiful canyon; went up the creek trail (single track), down the motorized Gibson Mt. trail, so counter-clockwise. Agree with the review just before mine. I would try up and back on the single track next time, but have to careful of horses and hikers. There's not much room to maneuver. Also it was raining lightly and muddy today. Would be a super nice hike (the creek trail).

Rode the trail May 6th. Super bumpy especially towards the top. Near the very top there is a little snow and some mud. Beautiful trail but too bumpy/too much arm pump to fully enjoy heading downhill. One and done.

The app describes this trail as a loop but the map shows an out and back so something needs to be corrected there. The actual loop is 8.8 miles. Once you get to the red gate, you keep going straight and just take trails that lead to the left. We got to a high point and the trail had snow on it. You will come to some fences and there is a random wooden post at a fork in the trail. We couldn’t go straight due to the snow over the trail, but you can take a right at the post and go on the ridge path that will lead back to the all trails map. This was the only snow encountered. It’s a great hike. I wish the all trails info regarding the trail was more accurate. You can make this into an even longer hike by hiking through the Mink Creek Area. It’s a gorgeous hike. Would recommend. Been doing it my entire life.

Can anyone tell me if 27 Gibson fork connector exists? We ended up taking 59 to 45, realized we had gone too far, and back tracked all the way and still didn’t see it. I thought we had taken 15 all the way up but looking at it now it was probably 14. I got back onto the 15 trail and realized it was not the same trail I had taken there (this was 5 hours in with a dog and 11 y/o). I had a mini panic attack when I realized we only had about 1.5 hours of daylight. Thankfully, I had service and my maps guided me down most of the way until it took me off the trail. The last half mile was in darkness, wandering through the trees and bushes, climbing fences and trying to avoid falling in the water. Fun times.

good trail honestly right now a perfect time to go! I started this hike around 10 and got back at 1 so it's a nice short hike if your up for it take the dotted black trail back instead of there and back you'll see wonderful views

skinny trail. Not many places to sit and rest if you need it. Lots of overgrowth near the trail. Hard to know if you are on the right path as they are not really marked after you leave the parking area.

Are we sure that this trail is marked correctly on here (the path highlighted in red)? I could certainly be wrong, but it seemed to me that the “main” trail is actually the path listed as ”2” above, in black. The few other parties we encountered were all taking the “2” route as well. Anyways, that route is the one I took - and we quite enjoyed it. One of the better areas to hike, in my opinion, in the Pocatello area. We went in early September, with most of the plants and trees looking dried out after the heat of the summer, but I imagine it would be gorgeous hike in the spring. Challenging, mostly uphill, but a few shaded spots available to stop and rest in. Decent views. Far enough from the city that it became completely serenely quiet once we gained some elevation, which was refreshing.

TRAIL REPORT- Elk Meadows via Gipson Jack Creek Location: Gibson Jack Trail Head, Pocatello, Idaho Date: August 2, 2018. Had a nice cool breeze most of the day. Riders: Pat Kent, Jodie Mills, Milton Emery, Bob Deeter Propose: Pleasure Ride Trail: Easy to moderate. 12.9 miles round trip with a 4.4 mile loop at the top. Three rocky places getting to the winter warming hut. Next time I will look for another trail without the rocks, by going to the left instead going right at the start of the loop. A big thank you to DON ROSS who was cutting brush ALL day yesterday on this trail. God bless him and all the trails he rides. Image may contain: tree, plant, sky, outdoor and nature
