One of my favorite hikes! So beautiful, the entire time I just couldn’t stop gawking over all the waterfalls. Definitely recommend! Not too hard if you are in decent shape and can climb stairs. Also gotta reiterate to wear shoes with good traction and waterproof if possible! To get the best views and shots you have to hike down/climb back up in mud/on slippery rocks. Highly recommend!

Great local trail. lots of things to see, some challenging spots but miderate overall. The landscape of the forest is forever changed due to the winter storms...literally thousands of trees down. Great job NPS Trail Crew on clearing the trees from the trails!

We went after some heavy rains & it was breathtakingly beautiful!

This trail is rated as moderate but for me it was difficult. I’m not an avid hiker, not in exceptional shape, and when I went it was a heat advisory day so that all factors into my “difficult” rating. I completed this hike solo and enjoyed being alone with my thoughts in the surrounding. I went early on a Monday morning and the trail was not crowded at all. It was very serene, therapeutic, and relaxing with all the waterfalls. I hiked the trail so I saved the largest waterfall for the end of the hike. I spent time at each waterfall and rested a few times and the hike took me approx. 3 1/2 hours. It was a great solo hike to be alone with your own thoughts.

a real relaxing trail

Beautiful hike through the Gorge! A moderately difficult hike mainly due to slippery rocks, stairs, and tourists stopping to take pictures. The view of the rocks and waterfalls along the path were wonderful. I will definitely be back!

Great for all!

nice trail..great pics to come

DON'T TAKE THE INDIAN TRAIL... We started hiking gorge and from Jacob's ladder we headed back on Indian trail, the gorge trail as the name suggests is awesome but gets crowded but worth it. The Indian trail has maybe 1-2 viewing points and it doesn't have anything that makes us feel that we are at a glen... So just make sure you get back in the gorge itselff

I have really enjoyed the hike... Upper and middle falls are really close and its not much of a hike, the walk to lower falls is nice the canyon gets deeper and lot of pine trees around its really nice... After the hike dont forget to drive in park road and stop at all the scenic lookout points you will love itt.... Opps I forgot to mention that the middle falls has a rainbow... :), I would love to go back in fall..!!

This is by far one of the best state parks I've been to. A true gem in the state of New York. Plenty of trails and scenic views that take your breath away. If you are looking for a fun getaway this is the place to be.

Awesome workout! Treacherous hiking! Short trails, beautiful falls.

Did the 7.5mile loop starting from the educational center going clockwise. Quite a few up and downs which made this trail a good workout but nothing I would consider in the difficult level. Nothing much to see other than a viewpoint and the waterfalls which are located on a short spur. The view is nothing spectacular but the waterfalls were very nice, especially with all the rain we've been getting. I imagine the falls get pretty busy given the shorter 3.5mi loop available. I did this hike during a rain storm and had the trails and falls mostly to myself on a mid morning Saturday.

Falls were astounding—amazing noise & power of water. Huge amount of work planking and railing the trail and the great views of the falls make it worth the cost. Fascinating to see the brown (tannins?) water on the main stream, but a clear one feeding it. Great diversity of mushrooms!

A beautiful hike for all ages. Not to hard. Being able To see the narrows, waterfalls, bridges all in one hike. It does get crowded but was still very enjoyable.

Moderately difficult trail. Definitely wear boots. Wet and slippery in several areas. Do the Orange trail to the left to go up. At the top turn right at the fire pit and take the Red Trail. Ironically the first marker you see is a Blue Marker. This is the Red Trail even though the first market is Blue. Several sections could use a grab wire or rope. One slip and you are over the edge. Winter time be prepared for lots of ice.

Great trail and doesn’t take long! If you want to relax after the hike, there is also a picnic area at the boat launch just nearby.

Great, scenic hike. Take a waterproof backpack, wear proper hiking boots, bring water and a snack. On very nice days it can get busy and there are a lot of people who don't hike with proper attire, but it didn't bother us. People were very courteous and friendly. Take the Orange trail to hike up the falls, it's nice and cool, lots of great waterfalls! We didn't hike the whole Orange trail, once we got to the top we cut over to go down on the Blue marked trail. It is very rocky, slippery in some spots, but the adventure is fun!

Beautiful trail! Will go explore it again!

Good beginners trail. Enjoyed the walk. Three hours with nature!!!!

Fantastic hike. Very difficult climb and certainly dangerous at many spots along the climb. We took our 15 year old and 6 year old (who is tough as nails). They did really great. Do NOT attempt this climb without hiking boots and pants. We were crawling in spots and on all fours going up. Worth the hour to the top. The falls are breathtaking! I was amazed at how many people were climbing back down the same way they came up. Seriously dangerous! When you get all the way at the top of the last fall you’ll find a fire ring. The trail on your right takes you back down a very easy decent right into the parking lot.

easy 5 and something km. easy to track the red labels on the trees. beautiful waterfalls across the path.

Great hike! The trail isn’t marked well and it’s easy to get off track without using the map on AllTrails. The waterfalls were amazing, especially with all the rain, but quite a bit of the trail had ankle deep standing water too. The overlooks were also just as beautiful.

Great place to hike during the hot summer!

Great trail along the river. We saw a few mountain bikers and many dogs off leash. Plenty of benches along the river to stop for a meal. We did find trash along the river that was disappointing (condom wrappers, drug baggies), but once you rose in elevation trash became sparse. Even when we got rained on we still saw a few hikers on trail. Coming across the Lenape Indian statue was pretty cool.

I hiked this trail for the first time yesterday with two friends. Moderate trail with lots of shade and nice views. Bathrooms are scarce and parking is not easy to find. We stopped at Rittenhouse Town for a history lesson. Our total hike was 10 miles. Highly Recommend.

Great hike, devils pool is refreshing.....but rocks are very slippery! Hardly any restrooms though

this might be my favorite place in PA. I'd recommend doing the loop clockwise though, due to steepness of the trail at some spots. always a beautiful day at ricketts glen
