good for kids would be great in summer

I did this trail in December and mostly had it to myself on a rare sunny day in the middle of the week. The falls are huge and breathtaking. The trail is well maintained with some small inclines. There was a little ice on the inclines when I went which made it a little slippery in spots but not bad. The stairs down to the falls are worth the effort. A good short little hike and workout.

I took this little trail in December. I had it all to myself. It’s a nice little waterfall and peaceful place to be outside. Good for families with children.

Beautiful trail with amazing sites

Great trails, very crowded on a weekend when the weather is nice. Hiked the High Falls Loop today starting at the main parking lot going to High Falls then Triple Falls & back on the High Falls Loop to the parking lot.

Beautiful view!

Great hike with beautiful views!

Wow! Awesome hike to a sprawling bald. Low effort, high yield. Just be prepared for hoards of people at the top on a nice day. Fortunately there are off-shoots and other trails in the vicinity you can explore to get away from the crowds. Definitely would do again, and would plan a camping trip to see sunrise from there.

I recommend hiking up the natural path, and then going down the gravel path.

Easy trail with great panoramic views at top

This was a lovely easy trail with lots to see - waterfall, covered bridge, lake.

This place is one of my absolute favorite! I did an overnight backpacking trip here and the view was beyond breathtaking. My now fiancé also proposed here at sunset and it was so dreamy! The hike isn’t bad and only took 15 minutes to get to the top. I would recommend wearing boots as it can be a little muddy.

Great trail, beautiful views. Perfect for dogs!!

Last of the Mohicans 1992 film was shot on this location.

Great winter hike with spectacular views. Easy hike even though the trail was muddy from all the rain the past few days. Saw some pretty happy dogs playing in the pasture at the top. Went back down the fire road which was gravel all the way. Definitely a repeat.

Wide, well maintained trail along the water. Falls are beautiful. Add the Hooker Falls trail for another beautiful falls view and a nice place to sit and enjoy a trail snack. Great trail for newbie hikers and for family treks.

Amazing short hike!!! Moderately intense up and the view is amazing. Worst part is the drive up an old windy road.

Great short hike. Beautiful vistas at the top!

Very much enjoyed the hike.

Short trip good for children and animals. This is also a great spot to take a date!

December 27th hike around 12:00 noon.
We parked on the road not knowing about the upper parking lot and went in around the AT, I think.
Went up to the summit first, back down and then around the backside of the trail to the main parking lot.
We then walked back to our car down the road about 200 yards or more.

there was a bunch of snow and some ice, as well as crazy wind at the summit.
We loved this trail and can't wait to see it in the spring or summer.

great family hike

There are two options to make it to the scenic view at the top. We took the slightly shorter and less strenuous gravel road to the top. The view at the top was outstanding with the full range of mountains in the distance. I took the trail back to the trailhead, and I consider it an very nice and challenging hike. The only issue this day was that at least half of the trail was very muddy due to thawing ice and snow. I recommend it.

Beautiful, nearly panoramic views from the top. Approximately 2.5 mi loop up the trail and back down the gravel road. Not overly strenuous.

This is an easy, fairly level walk on a wide, well-maintained trail. At the end, at the base of Hooker Falls, is a wide pool in the river where you can take a cool swim. Lots of people climb on the falls, and some people fall, hit their heads and drown. Don't be one of those people.

This is a very heavily trafficked trail, especially on the weekends. But it's also a very wide and well-maintained trail. It winds along the river and climbs to Triple Falls, which is nice, and up to High Falls, which is more impressive. Like most of the trails in Dupont, it's fairly wide and clear. Some steep climbs, especially for this fat, old man, but something almost anyone should be able to handle.

After this trail, we hiked on to Hooker Falls and Grassy Creek Falls. True total mileage of hike was 6.3 miles. Trail ratings are probably correct but as most of hike was over hard packed snow and ice, difficulty is obviously higher with those conditions. The snow cover truly added to the beauty of the area.

High Falls Loop Trail is a very beautiful hike but the incline makes it very difficult to do in the snow. Our 10 year old was super excited to see High Falls thought, because they are big, beautiful, and powerful.

The hike is steep in some parts but not for long periods of time. There are many well marked optional routes, like a hike to the covered bridge, a hike to the base and a hike to Triple Falls. The signage even tells you have far for each detour.

Easy day hike with cool views and nice waterfall. The airstrip offers some nice views if you hike out to the end. The trails are forest roads so doesn't offer much fun or challenge in terms of 'hiking'. You can also add in the Reasonover Creek Trail to make a longer loop.

Great swim spot. Love going behind the falls and sliding out on the rock.
