Moderate trail with an awesome view at the end

a lot of bang for your buck. Good parking and restrooms with running water. We stayed to the right the whole trail and was mostly a loop with an out and back at the very top.
Gorgeous place with the falls, mossy rocks, fall leave. Tuesday afternoon some people but certainly not crowded.
Picnic area too. So glad we went as a second hike for the day.

One of my FAVORITE trails this far! Numerous rock formations, waterfalls, and caves! What else could you ask for?!

Very pretty!

This trail has several things to see. There is the natural land bridge, the grotto, and some turtle formed rocks. All in all, this trail should be on everyone's bucket list.

It is amazing what nature does. I was truly suprised when I saw this natural phenomenon!

We did this trail during the fall and it was great. There are a lot of cool trails and views to see in Petit Jean State Park and this goes by many of them. I definitely wouldn't consider this trail hard, there were only a couple small sections that were difficult.

Beautiful trail and not too crowded. Lots of signage with lots of education about plant species. It was also fun to come across the concrete foundation of a house that used to be there but burned down. It was a beautiful trail to walk on a November Saturday morning. Thank you to all the volunteers who keep this trail in good shape!

This trail was very busy, lots of leashed dogs, but totally worth it and all very courteous hikers.

Awesome! Bring flashlights to explore many cave areas.

Easy trail on 11/09/18. Good for beginners and children, especially wandering around in the lower caves, Jig Saw Blocks, Eden Falls and natural bridge. The more moderate up/down is at the top to the big cave; as said, probably not suitable for kids.

The trail was rewarding especially when you get to see a beautiful waterfall. It was a lot of fun!

Mediocre trail but view of Whittaker Point is amazing and worth it. Drive to trail head is quite difficult on steep rocky roads. Once you get to parking the trail is the one on left side of road as you are driving up mountain. Lots of people hiking this trail for such a remote area.

Very nice, short easy trail. Good alternative to Cedar Falls trail. Very little foot traffic. A few interesting rock formations and nice river streams. A hidden gem at Petit Jean.

Nice trail. Better after a heavy rain.

Had no trouble following the trail. Quite a severe downhill though, during leaf off its easy to slip on rocks and other debris under the foliage. Waterfall is lovely, has carved itself a nice little canyon. Was beautiful in autumn but low water flow. Hike back out is almost nonstop elevation gain. I stopped one time and did fine but regardless it was a work out. Wouldn’t want to do it during the warm months.

Like others have said there is no trailhead at first. You will walk down what looks like a private drive and eventually hit the spot where the trail starts. There are two trails at that point, go straight left. The tree has an orange marker. It’s an easy hike to the top of the falls. If you decide to continue on the trail is marked with orange hiking tape. Sometimes you have to really look but they are there. Lots of leaves on the forest floor and everything was wet making it slippery so be careful if you continue on. It was s good workout continuing on due to the steepness of the terrain. The waterfall was flowing good due to the recent rain. Will do again next year when things are green!

Nice hike. Cave is really open and has amazing features. Trail is easy to follow with water running through from time to time. We’ll bring my grandkids at Christmas time -although it’s moderate they’ll have no problem.

Beautiful area, but I think it is safe to say they have given up marking the main trail. Took some awesome pics in the fall.

I’ve been around a lot of the Buffalo area and this has got to be one of my favorite hikes. Not only is the waterfall spectacular but the hike is excellent and the whole area looks like a place fairies might dwell. If the camp area across from the trail is full there is a turn out off the highway to the West that’ll require a ten minute walk to the trailhead. A lot of elevation gain to the bluffs, go left to the falls. Though the hike to the right is beautiful too if you have time. Loved climbing around on the boulders. If you have a hiking partner give them some space, slips and slides will happen even in the best hiking boots and trail runners. Came in the autumn and the green valley along the creek with the autumn colors surrounding it was just spectacular. Get ready to use your hands to climb out from the grotto.

Find the trail at the back of the grounds, it’s easy to get to the lower falls. If you’re up to it, there are many other falls upstream that will require some sure footing and boulder hopping. Be careful crossing on fallen trees as they are often waterlogged and rotting. Really fun area to explore. Haw Creek is an excellent camping area (fee for camping goes up to 10$ spring 2019) and does require a water crossing in your vehicle. Don’t let it scare you, I crossed in my Toyota Yaris when the water was touching the bottom of the poles on either side of the road meant to measure flooding. Probably wouldn’t have tried it if it were much more than that, could definitely feel the car struggling against the current on the far side. Be mindful and keep an eye on the weather.

Easy hike, obvious trail even covered with leaves. I’m out of shape, so if you think you are, too, don’t be afraid of this hike. The view is worth it! Just amazing. (Start early, preferably a week day, if you want some peace and quiet.)

Fun trail! might be a little strenuous in some spots for beginners and if the water is up along with the rapids its a challenge to cross to the trail head safely, but a great day hike regardless! Seems like a great camping spot as well

I have enjoyed this trail multiple times and never get tired of exploring it and seeing it in different seasons! Highly recommend for beginners and experts

This hike was a beast for me! Partially due to the fact that my brother lied and said it was rated moderate to get me to join in, lol. It’s a workout both ways but the hollow is breathtaking. When we went the waterfall was pretty light but still beautiful. This was my entryway to the world of hiking and I will always remember it fondly ❤️

Fall leaves were remarkable! So beautiful!

Great trail, the fall colors were at their peak, even with the parking lots full and cars parked along the road it was still a nice hike. Once you are on the trail people spread out and find their own places so it's not wall to wall people all the time. It is still nicer in the middle of winter when their are no crowds and you have the place to yourself ....sometimes.

Easy hike. Great viewpoint

The trails are well blazed and cleared for trekkers. During rainy seasons keep in mind the trails are on a incline into a hallow so the paths could be flowing with water.

Nice hike. Watch out for mountain bikers.
