Super easy & short trail. You can throw a rock (but don't cause that's not safe!) to the waterfall from where you park. The creek was low, but there was still a waterfall & the color of the water was beautiful.

Yes it is a climb up but it isn’t as hard as a lot of people have said. Bring water and some snacks. There are a few places to stop on the way to take a break if needed. The waterfall was only a trickle but that meant we didn’t get wet crossing the streams. Truly a sight to see!

great trail after a big rain, don’t skip the grotto it’s an extra .25 off the main trail

some big slick rocks but all in all a pretty easy trail if you take your time, I stopped several times and still finished right under 4 hours and I’m pretty slow

After leaving Haw Creek Falls we headed north/northeast on 123 to try to find Pam's Grotto. Thanks to the tips from M. Cannon's review & a few minutes of searching, we were able to find the trailhead. The word "locate" is spray painted on the road on the same side as the trail right at the beginning. The trail is fairly steep for the first ¼ mile then it levels off as you walk alongside the base of the rock bluff. It looked like the trail split (to the right over a downed tree or up & to the left). From some of the earlier descriptions, we chose to go left. A lot of the trail looked familiar thanks to the pics, but we didn't find where the "grotto" was located. We went about ½ mile & decided to turn around, thinking it might have been the other direction, plus we were running out of time. We saw some beautiful scenery so we didn't feel like we left completely empty handed. The leaves had barely started changing colors & the creeks were pretty low, but still very lovely. I'm going to try to find a better trail map & account for a little more exploring time, & come back. Also keep in mind that there isn't cell service so plan ahead.

Simple hike to the falls. Nothing like the sound of water and the spray.

If you want to make it challenging, climb the slippery bank to get the view from on top.

Beautiful waterfall..when you finally get to it. Once we crossed the creek we drove the 5.8 miles as instructed and saw no turn off. Finally turned around and found the 1113 maker turned halfway over and covered by brush. Instructions say 5.8 miles, was more like 4 from bridge. The trail head was clearly marked with the 1140 that a previous hiker mentioned. Trail down was nice and wide, pretty clear. The falls were beautiful and worth the drive.

It rained during the entire hike but was pleasantly surprised how well the trees over the trail kept most of the rain from getting on us. Great trail for kids and adults, just wish the dirt road to the trail weren’t so bumpy/rocky and long!

Hello twins. ;)

Stunning stunning stunning! The views are worth it! Not kid friendly near the point. Little streams along the way that had some water flowing. A great hike!

Even after the rains, the water was just trickling but it is still worth the hike to see.

We hiked up to the top of Eden Falls and ventured into cave! If you want to crawl into the cave, bring a head lamp. There wasn’t much water flowing out which kept us dry. There is a spot where you have to crawl/get very low. If you are able, do it! The cave and hike to it, are not kid friendly. The hike to Eden Falls is kid friendly. The trail has been washed out in some spots but still very easily accessible.

Great trail, even before you get to the stunning views. Rocky and moderately taxing, but nothing crazy.

As a novice hiker, this was an awesome experience for me. Starting with the ranger who warned me to bring plenty of water because of the uphill return, to the lovely solitude of the light rain after leaving the quarry, the trail was an amazing experience for me. I’ll definitely be back.

As a novice who is also an old guy, I did have a few reservations on the way out as to whether I was still on trail because the blazes were a little sparse. But the trail itself was visible throughout, and the blazes were more numerous on the return. The fall color is just beginning, and I am wishing I could get back here in a couple weeks.

It's and okay trail. But there is one over look trail we went down. We got attacked by yellow jackets. It was a very painful hike after that. If you find a trail marked with rocks stack do not go down it.

Great trail with an amazing ending! The cathedral is beautiful and the echos are awesome! The waterfall was only trickling very little but that made standing under it that much more fun to cool off. The hike down was pretty easy even though we broke a sweat. However the hike up made it the hardest hike I have ever encountered! It’s one of those that you give your hiking buddy a high five when you reach the top! It was really neat to see, but it’s safe to say I’ll probably only do it this one time.

This trail was poorly marked. We spent more time pushing our mountain bike then riding them. The rocks were very loose and there were alot. Not kid friendly for bike riding. They need to do more maintenance on it.

FYI. Make sure you bring 3 dollars to pay to hike this trail. The park attendant says it’s a 60 dollar fine if you don’t pay. As far as the trail is concerned. It wasn’t worth the 3 dollars or the drive to it. I did not like this trail at all. It was confusing because it’s actually Trail was not labeled. It is actually part of the west aide of the shores loop trail. The trail is VERY rocky. It was not cleared out well at all and parts were extremely narrow. We finally turned around and came back out because it didn’t feel safe. I have hiked hundreds of miles of trails this year and have loved it but this one is by far the worst experience. I do not plan to be back.

It was a nice hike with my kiddos. Definitely going to go back again!

We loved this hike! So many beautiful rocks! There’s also a lot of areas where there is running water. Some water cascading over rocks. We took our puppy for her first hike here. It was the perfect first hike. She learned how to climb over rocks and get into the water! It was the perfect length. The only thing I didn’t love was that we parked in the wrong area (there’s two areas that get to the trail so much easier!). So if you use apple maps, just go a little further than it tells you to and park at the Pioneer cabin!

Easy hike and even though the water was flowing much it was still well worth the trip. The AllTrails coordinates took us right to the trailhead. The trail is rocky which I didn’t think was bad but it’s not a flat dirt path.

Great trail. Rockshelter is amazing.

Very nice, very tall falls. We got off our kayaks to hike up it. The hike there has a ton of scenery, you’ll cross several creeks to get there. Make sure it has rained prior if you want to see the falls in full effect. Well worth the trip.

Short easy hike into the falls - only small twin falls when we were there in late Sept., but still pretty. The drive to the trail head from the highway is rather long (steep, rough, and downhill) considering how short the hike actually is.

Was worried it would be hard to find, but GPS took us right there - it did called the gravel road off of Highway 21 County Road 5, but it appeared to be marked 9560. Lots of great reviews here that helped assure us we were going the right way. Also was worried from many reviews that it would be super busy and there would be no where to park on a nice, fall, Saturday afternoon. We were able to park right near the trail head though and had all the pictures we wanted at the crag within about 15 minutes. Overall the trail is pretty easy to follow. I agree with moderate difficulty rating, hardest part is the end coming back to the parking area. Waterfalls weren’t really much to see to right now - maybe another time of year would be better.

I am sharing this even though quite embarrassing in hopes someone else does not make the same mistake I did. The trail head is on the opposite of the road from the bulletin board. I wandered around the incorrect side for about 1.5 hrs convinced I saw not just 1 but 2 separate trails on the side of the road with bulletin board. The good news is due to that I got out to the crag much later and the rain had stopped allowing for much better views.

This was by far the best hike I have ever completed. We don’t have much hiking near my home (Memphis, TN) so this was an incredible find for me and my friend. The hike back up the switchbacks was tough, but we were expecting it. I would highly recommend pushing yourself further to make it around to the backside of the waterfall. I can’t wait to do this hike again next year!

Just gorgeous!!!!!!!
