I love this hike. Beautiful views not very difficult! Don’f orget to buy a Tonto pass.

This map shows all the wait from the trailhead to Beaver Falls! Beautiful hike if you are lucky to get permits!!!

Very good workout for the legs. View from the top makes the struggle worth the effort !

This is a favorite of mine, always chances for beautiful pictures. I will keep coming back to this one!

Hiked the trail counter-clockwise on a weekday. I've done parts of the trail on a weekend & there's usually lots of cyclists and horsebackriders. None today. Saw 2 cows. I clocked the hike at 10 miles on an Apple Watch & my friend clocked it on a Tom-Tom at 9 miles, so the posted distance on this website is was shorter. Some parts of the trail (near mile 5) were not easy to find, but we looked for footprints & bright coloured tags on trees for assistance. My fave part was where there was an oasis with ponds of water & lots of smooth rock. I would def do this hike again!

My FAVORITE trail! I try to get there at least for my birthday every year. Beautiful beautiful trail!

Pretty easy hike. Other reviewers are right, lots of cacti over the trail, especially at the end. It’s not that hard to navigate safely through it though. Got a lot busier toward 9-10am as we were exiting. Pretty views of the lake and a few tree overhangs but not much other than that.

scenic but very rocky at certain areas, had to pay attention where to step and not twist an ankle. Was hoping to see more wildlife as spoken of in other reviews, maybe it was to cold.
Elevation wasn't to bad

Went hiking with wife, kids, and cousin on our first long distance hike of the season to practice building up distance endurance. Only thing that was really disappointing with this trail is how the desert plants are not kept trimmed back from the trail and it can be tricky (and painful) to maneuver through some areas of the trail. Lots of great wildlife to be found along the way and the view of the lake is worth the trip out here. No horses or rattlesnakes today, but my daughter found a tarantula of decent size which was a pleasant surprise for us.

Not my ideal type of hike, I went counter clockwise. The views were magnificent, trail was perfect. I prefer a hike up like the Peralta. At 2.5 miles I just turned around. Other than that it was absolutely beautiful, barely anyone on the trail only saw 5 people in a span of 3 hours.

Great hike. Started from the trail head and went counter clockwise. The trail was a typical desert hike until we passed the turn off for the Arizona trail. Then the trail pretty much followed a wash with occasional water though beautiful shaded canyons for the last half of the hike. Also trail/ route not marked to well after AZ trail. If I do it again I’d try it clockwise.

I’ve hiked this in the snow and in the fall colors. Both were beautiful hikes. I made it to the top lookout (just past the hoodoos) but have never continued on. It’s a somewhat easy hike. I’ve only been on weekdays and only seen a few other people which makes it nice and quiet.

After passing Mooney, Beaver falls isn’t quite as exciting. But what a beautiful trail that follows along the majestic water with about 3 water crossings. Near the end you’ll arrive at the 1 palm tree to start climbing up, there’s ladders and some rock stairs to help the climb but as always be cautious as the face of the ridge is brittle. The view from the top looking down on to Beaver Falls is amazing! You’ll see a wooden sign and thankfully know you’ve made it. From the sign start your decent to the falls, make sure to pack a suit and a snack, this hike takes about 5 hours, you wouldn’t think that with a short 4.5 mile hike.

Great hiking experience! Beautiful views! Started 8:30 am, finished 2:pm, including some water breaks and snack, went total 11 miles.

We hiked around 14 miles today beautiful scenery in early November some fall colors. If we went 3 weeks ago the fall colors would have been peak. The sign will say 1 mile once you get to Walnut canyon but we also went like 3+ miles like other hiker reviews. Not a lot of traffic so perfect hike to enjoy the outdoors. Once you are past 3 miles in the Walnut Canyon the trail is overgrown so make carrins, very cool caves to venture in. We started the hike late didn't go to the monument but we took some really cool detours.

Relatively easy hike, but beautiful scenery. We arrived at around 8:30 in the morning an there were quite a few people already on the trail. Trail was in most parts easy to follow, but not marked that great, worth the trip, would definitely do it again if we are ever in this neck of the woods again.

Very enjoyable morning hike! Beautiful changing scenery that offers a great birds eye view of Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Pretty easy for regular hikers but perfect if you want to see the area, get some exercise and don’t have a lot of time.

Easy hike with very little elevation gain. Very pretty views of Saguaro Lake and all the coves. We saw a ton of birds and ducks and were a bit startled on the way back when we heard gunshots as apparently it was the start of fowl hunting season (only drawback). We saw a variety of activities on the water from fishing, to boating to paddle boarding but most of the noise and hustle and bustle was limited to the recreation area where you park to access trailhead. I would do this hike again for sure. **Note: Get your $8 parking day pass before-hand so you don’t have to double-back like we did!

Good hike.

First time hiking this trail was in March 2018....beautiful, loved it. Hiking it again on Oct 31 2018 in reverse of the way we hiked it before.

Amazing Sunrise Hike Today with gorgeous views of the lake and landscape! No wild horses spotted today, I would rank as an easy hike, but at times the trail was hard to follow towards the end....use your Navigation! Washrooms on trail site...Get Your $8.00 Park Pass at Gas Station on the way or risk fine.

My pup and I really enjoyed this trail. It took us about two hours round trip; very beautiful views from start to finish. Saw a couple people at the very top, but didnt cross anyone while actually hiking. Some rocky, narrow parts of the trail towards the top but we had no issue with it! We will definitely be going back! FYI there is a $7 cash only admittance fee into the state park.

Super beautiful, peaceful, nice views from the top. I’d definitely rate this one moderate rather than hard; there is some nice elevation gain but none of the terrain is in any way difficult. I’d definitely hike this again.

Fantastic hike! The first part of the hike along the lake there are some good lake access places for fishing or swimming. The trail is rocky and uneven but we did it with our dog in about three hours round trip. The extra 1/4 mile viewpoint at the end was well worth the short distance. We’ll be back with family and friends!

Beautiful trail! Great views the entire way. Tons of flowing water views! Saw tarantula and snakes. Hardly anyone on the trail. Started at 6:30am and took a few hours to do the entire loop. I took lots of breaks for pics though so not sure how long this trail should really take. Great trail the entire time.

This was a beautiful hike this morning! Great views of the desert or lake throughout the hike. The top is gorgeous! I think my kids would love this hike.

The trail does get more narrow and steep at the end which was hard for this pregnant body, but it’s worth it!

Awesome awesome trail. Couple of really technical spots. Need a lifted vehicle if you’re going to protect your undercarriage. Takes about 4 hours total, so bring a lunch and lots of water and enjoy the drive. Awesome views, love everything about this trail.

Went from Mooney falls to Bever. A little tricky at some points and you need to keep an eye on where the trail ends into the water and continues on the other side. A great day hike.
