I recommend starting early. This trail gets busy. It's a good trail for beginners. Beautiful views

WARNING! The trail is great! Security for your vehicle is a 0! We had a great hike but when we returned to our vehicle the back passenger window had been busted out and two purses stolen. The parking lot was full all day with people hiking the trails and still the thieves managed to break in. When speaking with the Sheriff, they informed us that this has been a consistent issue at this trailhead.

nice trail for this beautiful weather! had trouble finding some of the markers, but the horse poop lead the way. ;)

My first AZ trail. Its about 60 minutes of gentle uphill with rocky path. A few steps where you need to use your hands for leverage. Great views of the desert and rocky canyon walls. Would do it again!

First part of trail was near houses, and had 2 cattle gates, so not so great a view to start. 2 porta-potty's, no TP. Once you got along the trail a bit it was beautiful, but it's vastly more rocky on the trail than places like Usury, or Lost Dutchman, so you are forced to look down the entire time so you don't trip. Kinda ruins the walking part of the experience. Entire loop was 3 miles, but "distance" indicator above would lead you to believe it's 2.8 miles one-way. No waterfall at end; just a slow drip into a stagnant pond about 20 feet across. Pretty up there, and glyphs were cool, but just not a good hike overall due to the trail condition.

Pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon I wanted to get closer to take better pictures of the petroglyphs but lots of family with kids so I will have to return maybe during the week. Everyone was friendly and seemed to be navigating the trails comfortably, Tips there are port-a potty but had no bathroom tissue, bring water prepare to be to spend a few hours round trip I was there 3 hours

Awesome trail not to hard not to easy! Very dog friendly we saw several and even took 2 ourselves! Ours even got to go swimming when we got to the top They loved it!

Ps always bring water for yourself and your furry friend!

Happy Hiking!

Love the horses in the water staying cool

This trail is always a joy to hike. It was my first in Arizona. It has change a lot by half of the trail being paved but, the reward you get to at the end of the trail is worth it!

Beautiful views and scenery. Simply amazing when there’s water!

Hiked this trail today. Desert was beautiful. Trail is rocky at times.

Trail is very easy and pretty well marked. Missing a few markers at the half way point which leads to some confusion. Didn’t see horses but was a great walk either way.

Being recent transplants to Phoenix, we have spent most of our time hiking to the north (Sedona, Oak Creek, Pine/Strawberry, etc.). On a whim this weekend, we decided to give the Superstitions a try, and are we glad we did! This was a perfect hike for a beautiful Sunday afternoon with the family. Our kids, ages 13 and 12, really liked the trail, also... especially the part when we crossed paths with a large Tarantula! Do yourself a favor, and hike this trail!

Beautiful hike. First half is easy, just stay alert to all the jumping cholla lining the trail. Second half kicks it up to a solid moderate. Good workout! Waterfall still had a trickle yesterday. A great reward of a cool, shaded area at the end. We clocked in at 6.5 miles and took us 3 1/2 hrs to complete with a 20 min rest. Dessert was gorgeously green following the wettest October on record.

Such a pretty trail! I’d say it’s on the easier side of moderate, but you can go a bit further at the end to add some climbing if you’d like. Gorgeous views though!

Went with my kids (oldest is 5 youngest is 6 months. Was in a stroller. We love this trail! Especially after a good rain and the waterfall is flowing!!!

Cool trail even if there is no waterfall. Petroglyphs, saguaro cactus and lizards along the trail. Beautifully maintained trail. Lots of picnic tables, rest rooms and trash bins in this regional park. Entrance fee to the park is now $7. Nature center at park entrance is worth a visit.

Easy trail that leads to a waterfall which had a little water since we recently had a storm. Starts out paved but quickly turns into a regular dirt trail. Nice vistas and Seguaro cactus along the way.

Really enjoyed this hike, I would rate this a little more on the easy side but still a good hike. Weather was perfect and beautiful scenery!

Great view of rocks and cacti. Plenty of dirt. Walking in this trail I really felt the history under my feet. Afterwards you’ll be hungry. So good one yes. #goodoneyes

Better than my last visit. Didn’t have a bunch of trash thrown and left behind by people who don’t care.
Water level was very low. Kayakers were having to get out and walk their kayaks over rocks and sand bars.

It was a great day on the trail! It’s less sandy and loose rock than other trails we’ve done in the area and that made it easier. Water was flowing at the top and it was so nice to be up there with other hikers.

I’m a 60 yr old woman who works in an office all week and comes home to sit on the couch more days than not. I usually keep my hiking refrained until weekends. I hiked this trail for the first time today. I was definitely not prepared!! It was much tougher than I had anticipated (those people who say it’s easy lied!) Seriously though, this is a great hike if you want a good workout. It’s long (over 5 miles) with small areas with a bit of climbing over rocks. On my way out, I got too close to some jumping cholla. I didn’t have a stick, so I walked with them stuck in my leg for a bit until I came across another hiker with a stick. He knocked it off and is my new hero. Even though I started early, I was slow, so when the sun was out in full force, I felt it! You need sunscreen; sunglasses; a hat; and PLENTY of water!! I thought I had enough water but was “rationing” it by the time I neared the end of the Trail. Not gonna lie....this trail kicked my lazy butt!! But I just may do it again, but with a partner next time. Solo was no bueno.

Very beautiful after some rain fall.

Amazing!!! Go early. Wear sunscreen and take water!

Loved this hike and the little waterfall was cool and refreshing!

Weather was perfect and scenery was amazing. Was a fairly easy hike in and out. We went a little higher then the stopping point and that was a bit more challenging. Gorgeous views and not too many people. I would highly recommend this trail.

Was beautiful. Go early ~ less people. As you get into the trail it gets rocky. Wear proper shoes and watch your footing. Was worth the hike.

Lots of rocks. Do not do this with sneakers.
