OHV/Off-road drivingScrambleWashed out

Not a trail for a stock Jeep, based on the large rocks placed at the trailhead by the tour operators. Crowded and busy, unable to park and hike.

Fun hike/climb! Was windy at the ‘end of trail’/top around 5pm.

HikingGreat!

Short but pretty hike with all the large limestone rock surrounding the trail line. When you get closer to the small but quaint water fall you get surrounded by pretty greenery. The trail is not really marked so you just have to keep an eye out. Once you get to the small waterfall you can relax w your feet in the cool water, it did get crowded, but a beautiful end to the hike. There are some small patches of shade along the trail which was nice, and I saw all ages; out hiking on this trail today.

This is a very fun trail! It is just about .6 to the top, definitely wear shoes with strong tread and expect to climb and scramble a bit. The view from the top is so serene. As other reviews have said - go early to get a parking spot! We arrived at 8am and were lucky a spot had just opened up. Note there is a $5 parking fee.

We arrived at 5:58am on Friday (4/9/21) and snagged the last parking spot in the overflow lot. The hike itself seems intimidating at the start but once you get going, it's really not too bad. The views along the way are nothing short of amazing and making it the top is so worth it! We made it just in time to watch the sun rise and were lucky enough to catch the hot air balloons going up. The area at the top was smaller than I was expecting but it wasn't overly crowded. I was a little worried about the hike back down but it was much easier than I anticipated...you might have to scoot on your butt in a few areas, though. I definitely recommend, just make sure you go early!!

HikingGreat!

Due to time constraints, we didn’t hike the entirety of the trail, just from the trailhead to the pools abs back. That part is pretty short and you get to see The Devil’s Kitchen along the way. Very easy section and scenic. The parking is horrendous. There’s only 14 spots and they fill up fast. There’s no parking allowed in the neighborhood the trailhead is located in. We parked at the Sedona Dog Park and hitched a ride with Debbie who drives a Hiker Helper van. Very nice lady who can give you lots of advice. She drives for tips so there’s no specific charge.

HikingGreat!

Pretty easy trail for most of the way until towards the very end where there was some scrambling up rocks. We had a 9 year old with us and he did just fine. It’s a pretty crowded/popular trail, and there’s a long line if you want your photo taken on the bridge. But great views throughout despite the crowds!

Quick and easy! lots of sun exposure, but there are 2 shaded rest areas. Lastly, there are a lot of bathrooms, and they were really clean when we visited!

Awesome trail that wasn’t crowded at all got to the trailhead at 6:30 am and took an extension to make it longer. Ran into a coyote in the middle of the trail. Great adventure filled day.

Hiking

This hike was BREATHTAKING!! It was a bit hard to find parking, as they close off the road when the trailhead parking is full, but found a parking lot about a mile away on the main road. The hike to get up there is a great workout. Lots of crevices you have to climb up, so be patient with people ahead of you trying to get up/down. Once you get past the initial few, it gets much easier! I explored a bit at the top since it was shorter than I was anticipating. I looped around to the left, and it was amazing and much less populated. I enjoyed it so much, I sat, journaled, meditated, and met new people so I ended up staying there for the sunset. Cannot recommend enough!! But be sure to leave in time so it’s not too dark to climb down, or bring a headlamp.

Beautiful views and fun hike. Lots of people when we were hiking but still worth it. Careful to not go too late, if you do have lamps/lights. Crevice to go up was backed up with lots of people but just be patient.

Running

Amazing , short (1+ mile), steep hike as you ascend to the top. Beautiful view as you reached the peak. Avoid climbing to the top for the sunset without proper equipments in the evening (ie headlamp, gps map, etc). I got lost couple times; almost sliding the cliff twice.

HikingGreat!RockyScramble

Did this with two kids (9 and 11). Took about 1hr 20 minutes, with a break at the top and some time for pictures along the way. The first time we drove by the road, it was closed off, but we went back a few minutes later and we’re let in - they let people in as others leave, so it may take a little time, but worth the wait!

Really easy hike - however the caves are not marked on All-Trails...just keep hiking towards the mountain. You’ll find it!
