HikingGreat!

Plenty challenging for the 50 plus crowd but definitely worth it. We arrived at the lot just before 6am and there were plenty of parking spots. A couple parts of the hike have challenging inclines, we took it slow. We made it up to the bridge just after 7 and there were about 10 people waiting to walk out and have their picture taken. It took some courage to walk out there and thankfully the group was very supportive. We got our pic and went back to the staging area to have a snack and enjoy the view. By 7:30 traffic was still fairly light as we started to make our way down. The lot had a good 6 open spots as we were pulling out even as we noticed people walking up who parked on the street. It’s worth taking a drive through the lot to check for spots. Go early and have a great experience.

It was a nice hike. We made it about half way to the top, my 5 year old got scared about coming down. We saw a group of people dancing on the hillside. It was pretty cool.

Got there at 7a and lot was full. People were parking alongside the street already. Luckily, we got a spot. Got to the bridge and there was a long line for pics. Was this worth it? Blah. I didn’t care for it. Too crowded and too many people on this hike.

Go early before sunrise for parking, heavy traffic but everyone was respectful. Helping out to take pictures.

Took other's suggestions and started the trail from the Jordan parking lot trailhead. Began at 11am and was not too crowded- plenty of people but also lots of room to pass and get by. Missed the turn for the caves so did part of the mesa trail before turning back. Views of the red rocks are stunning and it is well worth it to go all the way to the caves- also climb on top of the right one form the inside if you're able to *only if experienced*. All in all about 6 miles including the detours.

Twas an amazing hike/climb. My 5yo made it all the way up as well. My husband wore his oofos sandals. Scrambling for sure on this climb. Hiking shoes/boots, snacks, and water is highly recommended! 2 words=worth it!! We spent 2 hours up there because my husband was meditating. However, he didn’t feel the vortex as much as he did down below by the River so there was more meditating before we left. Overall it’s a 10 for me and probably the best in Sedona.

Leave early! We arrived at 6AM on Monday morning and our lot was already pretty full. We took the road down and it was just the two of us until we arrived at the bridge; folks were already coming down and the line for a picture was short and moved quickly! The road back was picking up so we took the Chuckwagon trail back, definitely the trail less traveled and made for a nice, more challenging hike, we got about 4 miles in! Leaving around 9AM the lots were already jam packed and crowds heading in as we were leaving. LEAVE EARLY, wear appropriate footwear, and drink water!

We were able to drive to the TH in my friend’s Jeep (has a 3” lift) so saved a long walk down a dusty road. Road is not accessible by SUVs. Crowds were horrible and so many people looked miserable and unprepared. A single 16 oz bottle of water and flip flops do not cut it for this hike! I also felt sorry for the poor pups that were being lead by their owners. Unless your dog is used to heat and you carry plenty of water do NOT bring them! Long wait at the arch for photos. We did not stick around.

Didn’t even bother to stop yesterday or today. I’d walk with fewer people on the streets of NYC.

Beautiful trail, even if you don't get there early there are alternative parking options within ~1 mile and a woman who gives rides in her van (not sure how "official" this is, but she's super nice) A little crowded at times but the trail is wide enough that it's not an issue.

Loved this trail! It was pretty scary from time to time since some of it is a scramble, but it was very doable and I had no issue even on the tough sections. It was crowded but I still got a parking spot at 8 am. I wore trail shoes and the extra traction helped a ton. Other people commented that they wish they had trail shoes so wear them if you have them. The view at the top is incredible. Highly recommend for the adventurous hiker!

Hiking

I have only done Devil’s Bridge and Soldier’s Pass so far, so maybe I’d feel differently if I had done more in Sedona, but I don’t understand why this hike is so popular. As many others have said, quite a bit of it is down a dusty road. Once you get onto the trail, it’s nice but I didn’t think the views up were that great. Then, once you reach the top, it’s too crowded to do much. You can’t actually walk over to the bridge unless you’re willing to stand in line. And it was a sizable line...I heard people saying it took about an hour. I couldn’t care less about having my picture taken, but I would have liked to go over to the bridge to look at the view, etc from there but I wasn’t going to wait an hour for that. IMO, this is a hyped up hike.

Beautiful views! But very difficult. Our 4 year old made it up but we were on our butts all the way down. Definitely have good grip shoes.

Went on a Saturday during a busy time of year so the trail was crowded. Not my idea of a fun hike when that busy. You walk along a dirt road with heavy off road vehicles traffic throwing up lots of dust for a good portion of the way. Once we got to the bridge is was so crowded we had to squeeze our way through people to see the bridge and people where saying it was about an hour wait to take a picture. Views are beautiful. Go during off season.

Not a trail for a stock Jeep, based on the large rocks placed at the trailhead by the tour operators. Crowded and busy, unable to park and hike.

Slightly longer trail (3+ miles) with some nice steep climb but not as challenging compared Cathedral Rock trail. Lovely scenery. Good luck with parking.
